Chapter 277: You Aren’t the Demon Lord, Are You? (6th Update)
However, Ye Wenxin had no intention of doing anything with Huang Hanyan. “Forget it. Here, I found this manual last time; it suits you well.” She resorted to her usual method, trying to get Huang Hanyan to leave.
Huang Hanyan glanced at the manual and was slightly stunned. The manual before her was god-tier, making her feel even more indebted.
“Now that you belong to me, I’ll give you a discount—” Before she could finish speaking, Ye Wenxin saw that Huang Hanyan had already swiftly undressed herself. The ease and determination on her face were evident.
“I don’t need this kind of repayment.” Seeing this, Ye Wenxin calmed down instead, and reached out to help Huang Hanyan get dressed again.
Huang Hanyan silently looked at Ye Wenxin, unsure if she felt disappointed or relieved. Since Ye Wenxin didn’t desire her, she decided to keep herself reserved until the day Ye Wenxin wanted or needed her. Everything she had, would belong to Ye Wenxin.
“Besides, you don’t like me, and I don’t like you. There’s no need to ruin our friendship for a moment of pleasure,” Ye Wenxin continued advising.
After the incident with Ling Jue, she seemed to understand a lot more. She had absolute fondness for Ling Jue, a fondness strong enough to make her willing to do more with her. But with others, it wasn’t the same. Their intimacy wasn’t enough to make Ye Wenxin act impulsively.
All this so-called love, and affection, was merely due to her peach blossom luck.
Ye Wenxin’s gaze moved slightly upward, noticing that her peach blossom aura was overflowing, almost contaminating the entire room.
“Yes, I will leave now, Master.” Huang Hanyan, seeing that Ye Wenxin seemed unhappy, didn’t stay any longer and called out the two words Ye Wenxin liked to hear the most.
Ye Wenxin grinned brightly, giving Huang Hanyan a strange feeling. Recalling the first time she met the Demon Lord, she realized she hadn’t felt the fear she expected; instead, she felt an inexplicable sense of safety.
Looking at Ye Wenxin now, she couldn’t help but ask, “Master, you aren’t the Demon Lord, are you?”
Ye Wenxin’s expression didn’t change as she replied, “If I were the Demon Lord, would you still be alive right now?”
Huang Hanyan laughed, thinking she was being foolish. “That’s true. Who would stay in the Azure Wings Sect for so long just for a runaway disciple?”
Ye Wenxin felt complicated. She was indeed the Demon Lord with too much free time on her hands.
“But if you were the Demon Lord, you would definitely have agreed to become Fairy Fengya’s true disciple. So, even though you’re suspicious, I don’t think you’re her.” Huang Hanyan quickly explained her reasoning, ultimately relying on her intuition.
Ye Wenxin felt a chill run down her spine, thinking every female lead was too smart, making life very difficult for her, a villain.
But seeing that Huang Hanyan had no ill intentions and was merely curious, Ye Wenxin smiled. “It’s late; go to bed. Stop thinking about all these random things.”
Huang Hanyan nodded, but she felt that, having been rejected by Ye Wenxin, she was destined for a sleepless night…
Whether or not Huang Hanyan was sleepless, Ye Wenxin definitely was. She dreamt of Liu Churan unmasking her disguise and then locking her in a dark cellar, where sunlight never reached.
Every day in that cellar, Liu Churan would wrestle with her three times a day, until Ye Wenxin passed out. This dream continued for a long time until Ye Wenxin noticed Liu Churan’s belly growing larger.
Liu Churan touched her own belly and said with satisfaction, “Qingcheng, this is our child. I’ve finally conceived your child.”
Ye Wenxin shuddered and saw Liu Churan pounce on her again, continuing to wrestle even in her pregnant state until the child was born and grew up…
The child resembled Liu Churan but looked even more like Gu Qingcheng. Every day, the child would watch them wrestle until they reached fifteen or sixteen years old, at which point both mother and daughter pounced on her together.
“Qingcheng, this time you’ll bear your daughter’s child, so I can have a grandchild!” Liu Churan’s smile became even more sinister, as if she wanted three generations to enjoy this together. Ye Wenxin frantically escaped from this terrifying dream, rolling out of bed. (TL: Omg…)
The door suddenly swung open with a bang. Ye Wenxin instinctively squinted her eyes, and saw Qiao Ni and Madam Yu standing at the entrance.
“Ah, why hasn’t this dream ended?” Ye Wenxin felt like crying, while Qiao Ni and Madam Yu were completely puzzled, unaware of the terrifying experiences Ye Wenxin had recently endured in her dreams.
At the same time, she remembered that Liu Churan did indeed like children. So even though Liu Churan disliked Madam Yu, she couldn’t bring herself to dislike Qiao Ni. In fact, she had given Qiao Ni the jade pendant Ye Wenxin had previously given to her.
However, whether Liu Churan had done anything unscrupulous during those years when she lost her mind due to Qi Deviation was beyond Ye Wenxin’s knowledge.
The more she thought about it, the more uneasy Ye Wenxin felt. Seeing Qiao Ni with Madam Yu always gave her a strange feeling. But Qiao Ni remained as affectionate toward Ye Wenxin as ever, even more so after a long separation, constantly demanding hugs, kisses, and to be lifted high.
Jin Xiaoqin hadn’t left yet, and seeing Qiao Ni be so adorable, she naturally wore a pleasant expression. If Ye Wenxin showed even a hint of misbehavior, Jin Xiaoqin would reprimand her harshly.
Madam Yu always sat quietly on the side, writing and calculating, occasionally reading or drinking tea, making Ye Wenxin almost think she was here on vacation.
“So, Madam Yu, what exactly brings you here?”
“Oh, I just came to see if my sister has stolen your heart,” Madam Yu replied lightly, but her gaze fell on Ye Wenxin’s clothes.
Ye Wenxin was puzzled by Madam Yu’s gaze but still responded, “That’s impossible. Miss Liu isn’t that kind of person.”
“Are you sure?” Madam Yu asked again, her gaze sharper than before, as if she were displeased.
“Uh, she seduced me, but she hasn’t taken my heart.” Ye Wenxin had to change her response. Madam Yu smiled gently, her previously furrowed brows relaxing.
She was still as beautiful as ever, but unlike Liu Churan, her beauty was more reserved and calming.
Ye Wenxin felt very comfortable around Madam Yu. She sat next to her, maintaining a certain distance to avoid causing any further displeasure.
Madam Yu didn’t stop Ye Wenxin from sitting closer. She continued embroidering, and the outline of the embroidery had already emerged—it was a vivid red flower.
If Ye Wenxin was not mistaken, the flower resembled the ones on Elder Wu’s body. But with Madam Yu’s embroidery, it appeared lifelike and quite enchanting.
