Chapter 313: Xiao Feng-feng’s Brilliant Entrance
The Yin Fetuses emitted tragic cries, but didn’t retreat. Instead, they launched a frenzied attack on Ye Wenxin. Ye Wenxin remained seated, while beside her, Xuan Luofei continued playing the guqin.
The once gentle melody turned piercing, forcing the Yin Fetuses to stagger back a dozen steps.
They persistently advanced, however, and soon, six more Yin Fetuses surrounded them. Ye Wenxin, knowing she had played her part, set down her golden pen. “Xiao Feng-feng, if you don’t come out now, we’ll all perish here.”
As soon as she spoke, a ghostly blue lightning flashed around them, separating them from the Yin Fetuses. A woman, wearing an Azure Wings Sect true disciple’s uniform, had appeared.
Long Qing’er and Jin Xiaoqin, recognizing her as Fairy Fengya, felt a mix of relief and sorrow. Only Ye Wenxin had known all along that Fairy Fengya had been watching from the sidelines. With Fairy Fengya’s callous personality, if Ye Wenxin hadn’t spoken up, she might have just watched them die.
In any case, Fairy Fengya had taken action. The strongest female lead effortlessly handled these adult Yin Fetuses as if she were slicing cucumbers. She smoothly unsheathed her long sword, a mysterious wind surrounding her, as if she had invisible ventilators on her. She stood valiant and formidable, her beauty ethereal.
The next moment, she sheathed her sword again. The Yin Fetuses were decapitated, splattering viscous, dark green fluids disgustingly onto the ground.
Everyone stood stunned by Fairy Fengya’s swift and lethal strike. While they were still figuring out what exactly she had done, the battle had already ended.
Yet Ye Wenxin had keenly observed Fairy Fengya’s six strikes, each one deadly and precise, earning her the title of One Slash Woman. Unfortunately, this beautiful female lead was far from being a cute, bald hero.
After doing all this, Fairy Fengya glanced at Ye Wenxin, as if asking, ‘Who the hell is Xiao Feng-feng?’ Surprisingly, Ye Wenxin could understand the meaning behind Fairy Fengya’s look.
The others thought Ye Wenxin had offended Fairy Fengya with her comment. Long Qing’er, in particular, hurried to explain on her behalf. She looked at her friend and then her master, before choosing to help Ye Wenxin. “Wenxin didn’t mean it, Sister Xiao Feng.”
Fairy Fengya didn’t respond. She merely stared at Ye Wenxin. Ye Wenxin decided to play dumb and turned around to fuss over the injured Jin Xiaoqin.
“Master, here’s some eighth-grade healing medicine.”
“Master, this is an external application powder I meticulously crafted.”
Jin Xiaoqin was initially conflicted, but Ye Wenxin’s comforting words relaxed her, and she thanked Fairy Fengya.
“Thank you, Xiao Feng.”
Everyone tacitly accepted that ‘Xiao Feng’ was now Fairy Fengya’s nickname, and Fairy Fengya didn’t refute it, so even the unknowing Xuan Luofei naturally followed suit.
However, Xuan Luofei’s main focus was still on Ye Wenxin, and she remarked, “Zhu-zhu, your Azure Wings Sect is really impressive. I heard that adult Yin Fetuses each have Nascent Soul stage cultivation, and this Xiao Feng-feng defeated each of them with a single slash.”
“Hehehehe, of course! Otherwise, how could I have been reincarnated—Hey, who’re you calling Zhu-zhu?” Ye Wenxin joked on purpose, trying to ease the awkward tension in front of her.
Even so, Fairy Fengya remained silent, and Ye Wenxin had to work hard to exchange glances with Long Qing’er. Long Qing’er then nervously asked Fairy Fengya why she was here.
“I just ended up here while walking.”
As always, her answer was simple and straightforward, making Ye Wenxin suddenly miss Fairy Fengya disguised as “Ye Wenxin”. At least back then, she would say some inexplicable things.
But because of this simple answer, Ye Wenxin became even more certain that Fairy Fengya carried an immense female lead halo. She could even be the so-called daughter of destiny, as she could traverse such a hellish place without any trouble.
The group began to discuss their next steps, while Ye Wenxin, playing a minor role, took responsibility for picking up any remaining bags of holding on the ground, hoping to find something interesting.
As she walked to a severed head, intending to pick up its weapon, the person who should have been dead suddenly opened his eyes, revealing blood-red pupils.
Ye Wenxin was slightly startled, then her lips curled into a grin as she softly said, “If you’re dead, stay dead.” A bright red flower sprouted from the head. It struggled, but ultimately could only watch helplessly as the flower drained it.
Unlike the usual Flower Burial flower, this one turned a dark green color, looking rather intriguing. When Ye Wenxin plucked the flower, she noticed Long Qing’er behind her.
“Look, Senior Sister; the flowers here have different colors.” Ye Wenxin showed no signs of guilt. Long Qing’er could only smile helplessly, reminding her, “Be careful; this isn’t the Azure Wings Sect. Everything here is dangerous.”
Ye Wenxin nodded earnestly, then turned back to crush the dark green flower, as if her sinister expression earlier was just an illusion in the darkness.
She continued her scavenging, and then noticed Fairy Fengya, who was oddly starting to deliver finishing blows to the corpses. It made Ye Wenxin feel a bit uneasy.
Facing such a powerful female lead, Ye Wenxin felt a bit of a headache. Why did Fairy Fengya have to be so overwhelmingly strong, as if she was born to counter her?
But seeing Fairy Fengya seriously make sure to finish off the corpses to prevent any hidden Yin Fetuses from infiltrating other people’s brains, the corners of Ye Wenxin’s mouth couldn’t help but lift slightly…
As night finally gave way to dawn, the dense black fog dissipated, though the sky in the secret realm remained overcast. The surroundings became much clearer, yet still appeared extremely eerie.
Everywhere, various skeletons and severed heads were strung up; the ground was strewn with dismembered limbs. The Yin Fetuses seemed to be constantly baptizing the environment.
Based on her observations of the scene, Ye Wenxin deduced that this secret realm had developed a consciousness of its own, even actively luring ordinary people here to create more Yin Fetuses and thereby expanding the secret realm.
The secret realm had probably disguised itself from the testers. As a result, weak cultivators came wave after wave, without realizing they were stepping into a deadly feast. For ordinary cultivators, lasting even a day here was nearly impossible, let alone a month.
Realizing the difficulty of the battle ahead, the group decided to gather more allies before making further plans.
The secret realm’s difficulty was beyond their expectations, and Jin Xiaoqin was unwilling to see more Azure Wings Sect disciples sacrifice themselves. Xuan Luofei also worried about the safety of the Beast Taming Garden’s disciples.
As they moved forward, Xuan Luofei played her guqin to attract others, and successfully found many disciples.
However, the disciples they found mostly belonged to other sects. There were none from the Azure Wings Sect or the Beast Taming Garden, which increased Jin Xiaoqin’s frustration.
TL: One Slash Woman, heh.
