Release the Female Lead, Leave Her to Me
Release the Female Lead Ch. 335

Chapter 335: I Got a Proposal!

Fairy Fengya was still looking at her, seemingly losing interest in Ye Wenxin’s master. The atmosphere sank into silence. Just when Ye Wenxin felt that maybe her story was too far-fetched, drawing suspicion from Fairy Fengya, Fairy Fengya finally moved, her gaze sweeping over Ye Wenxin’s entire body.

“Um, why are you still staring at me? Didn’t I already tell you my real situation?”

Ye Wenxin felt rather unsure. It would have been easy to fool Fairy Fengya alone, but with the cunning Great Grandma behind her, Ye Wenxin worried that her story wouldn’t hold up.

“What is your current cultivation level?” Fairy Fengya asked another question. Ye Wenxin, afraid of overusing her qi and falling into Qi Deviation, hadn’t lifted the seal on her cultivation. However, she also feared that one move could deplete all her qi, so she had only broken through to the Golden Core stage.

However, Ye Wenxin felt that Fairy Fengya was asking the obvious, so she squeezed out a lie: “I’m at the Foundation Establishment stage.”

Fairy Fengya stopped speaking again, then nodded slightly before continuing, “Then it’s still not too late to cripple your cultivation.”

Ye Wenxin, at a loss, quickly revealed the truth: “Actually, I’m at the Golden Core stage.”

“Oh, that’s even better. You can take me as your master, and I’ll be your Dao companion,” returned Fairy Fengya, as casually as discussing the day’s weather.

Ye Wenxin took a slight step back, resistance clearly visible in her eyes. She didn’t want Fairy Fengya to tempt her like this. Then, Fairy Fengya said, “What, didn’t you want to be Dao companions before?”

Ye Wenxin forced a smile, recalling her teasing from a few days ago, but she still felt Fairy Fengya was being very odd. “I regret it now.”

Fairy Fengya stopped talking, but her eyebrows finally furrowed slightly. “Your lies are growing more and more ridiculous.”

She took a few steps forward, approaching Ye Wenxin more assertively. Ye Wenxin timidly averted her gaze, and then sensed Fairy Fengya pressing closer, seemingly seeking to get some kind of promise from her.

“I’ve always been like this. I can’t settle for just you,” Ye Wenxin said, shaking her head in resistance. Fairy Fengya had already come closer. The distance between them was now just a breath away, as if, with a slight lean, she could claim those soft and beautiful lips.

Fairy Fengya leaned in gently, enticing her. “Am I not beautiful?”

“Uh, you are.”

“Am I not powerful?”

“Well, you’re very powerful.”

“Then why won’t you love me?” Fairy Fengya’s expression finally changed. She appeared bitter, like a resentful wife who was abandoned. After doing this, she couldn’t hold back from pressing her lips against Ye Wenxin’s, mouth corners quirking up into a bloodthirsty grin.

The next second, the Fairy Fengya in front of her turned into the face of a Yin Fetus, opening its bloody mouth as if it wanted to swallow Ye Wenxin. Before it could do so, however, dark green flowers sprouted from its eyes. The Yin Fetus let out an eerie shriek, and then turned into a puddle of green blood.

Ye Wenxin stepped away in disgust. This time, a second flag appeared from the blood puddle.

Unlike the black flag she held before, this one was pink. It seemed the Yin Fetus had used it to lure people into the illusion.

She waved the pink flag, dispersing the surrounding white mist and revealing the true appearance of the villa beneath the fog. Looking around, she saw no one. Ye Wenxin searched everywhere but couldn’t even find Long Qing’er.

“To think it even created a chain dream. If the Yin Fetus hadn’t revealed its expression, I might have believed it.” Ye Wenxin still had lingering fear from what happened earlier. The illusion had likely read her thoughts and used her memories to fabricate that false dream.

Thinking about the posture she might have shown in front of the real Fairy Fengya, Ye Wenxin touched the goosebumps on her skin, resisting the urge to dwell on those chaotic thoughts.

She continued onward, soon encountering other Yin Fetuses, and obtaining different colored flags. There were a total of seven flags, and the mutated Yin Fetuses that held them each had their own unique abilities and roles. When Ye Wenxin waved the seven small flags around, no Yin Fetus dared to approach her.

After about half a day, she finally found Long Qing’er, who was still alive.

She seemed to have emerged from the illusion and was fighting fiercely against the Yin Fetuses. In Ye Wenxin’s mind, Long Qing’er was very weak, but in reality, she was still quite strong.

That look in her eyes reminded Ye Wenxin of Long Qingyue and many things from the past. No matter what, Ye Wenxin had to save Long Qing’er. She continued forward, still not changing back to Ye Wenxin’s appearance. She activated Flower Burial, swiftly and cleanly dealing with the group of Yin Fetuses in front of her.

If she were the minor character Ye Wenxin, she wouldn’t be able to act so dominantly. But Demon Lord Gu Qingcheng was different; she should be a symbol of strength, even if the earlier dream had exposed her weakness.

Dark green flowers bloomed on the Yin Fetuses, sealing their fate despite their struggles. One Yin Fetus seemed particularly unwilling to accept its death. It desperately ran toward Long Qing’er, attempting to drag her down with it. Ye Wenxin waved her hand, and dark green petals scattered, transforming into sharp blades that shredded the Yin Fetus.

Long Qing’er, still panting heavily, immediately noticed the red figure in the distance. She looked confused and then became more cautious. “I know you…”

Ye Wenxin just smiled without answering, then turned and left.

Of course, that was only on the surface. She turned back and followed behind Long Qing’er, protecting her and watching her struggle to survive on her own. Long Qing’er was in a sorry state. Although she lacked Long Qingyue’s elegance, she managed to persevere through sheer determination.

Her eyes became sharper, like those of a wolf, ready to strike at any moment.

If the previous Long Qing’er was a princess, then the current Long Qing’er was quickly transforming into an empress. Her body began to emit a golden-red aura, marking the beginning of her metamorphosis.

Ye Wenxin felt deeply moved. After clearing out a troublesome wave of monsters, she finally left Long Qing’er’s side. The next steps should be for Long Qing’er to choose for herself how to proceed…

The days went on, and Ye Wenxin continued to wander around the villa. She felt a strong sense of familiarity with its layout, which was reminiscent of the Wind and Moon Palace.

There was a rockery over there, and a pond over here. Except for the pond being filled with countless Yin Fetuses, the arrangements were almost identical, convincing Ye Wenxin even more that this secret realm had a connection with Liu Churan.
