Chapter 336: Are You a Ghost?
Warning: Some disturbing content.
However, although records of their lore mentioned that secret realms could transform, it was only a legend, so no one dared to truly attempt to prove it.
Moreover, this kind of transformation required an even greater expenditure. The previous Immortal Sealing Ring alone could match the cost of an entire dynasty. It made Ye Wenxin wonder how many spirit stones it would take to complete this spirit realm’s construction.
She continued along the path ahead and saw a group of clothed Yin Fetuses. They resembled humans to some extent, but each one looked at Ye Wenxin as if they had seen a ghost.
The Yin Fetuses called for more of their ilk, and soon more Yin Fetuses appeared to attack Ye Wenxin. She dealt with them in one move, but still took a Heart-Cleansing Pill to ensure she remained calm and clear-headed at all times, in case she fell into another illusion.
She continued forward, encountering more mutated Yin Fetuses in every place. Fortunately, no matter how much these Yin Fetuses resembled humans, they still lacked cognition. Ye Wenxin explored deeper into the villa, heading towards the dining hall.
A few Yin Fetuses sat motionless in the dining hall. There were two adults and two children, appearing to be a family of four.
The two children were constantly fighting. The Yin Fetus child in red knocked off the arm of the Yin Fetus child in blue, and the blue Yin Fetus child broke the leg of the red one. The two Yin Fetuses were quarreling, seemingly not getting along well.
Meanwhile, the Yin Fetus parents remained expressionless despite witnessing this scene. Ye Wenxin walked over, but the four continued their mechanical actions, ignoring her presence. She went to explore the main hall and noticed a strange painting on the wall.
The painting depicted a pregnant woman, but her belly had several empty holes, which looked very odd. Ye Wenxin felt somewhat nauseated, unable to understand what this damn place was trying to convey. However, seeing that the size of the holes matched the flags she held, she decided to try inserting the flags into the holes.
One flag, two flags…all seven flags of different colors were inserted, and then a rumbling sound was heard from outside. Ye Wenxin hurried out to see, and in the distance, she saw a path extending from the pond, leading underground.
Ye Wenxin found this place was getting even more bizarre. She wanted to remove the flags and continue using them, but doing so made the underground exit disappear. Clearly, the flags weren’t meant to be used in the underground passage.
Feeling somewhat regretful, she tried using other items to replace the flags and insert them into the holes, but was still unable to open the underground passage.
She had no choice but to abandon this idea and proceed towards the underground exit that had appeared. The path was very dark, but without the black fog covering it, everything inside was clearly visible. It seemed to be a dungeon, and each cell was filled with Yin Fetus hosts.
They looked half-dead, with bulging bellies regardless of gender, as if they were gestating Yin Fetuses. This was probably a place where Yin Fetuses were produced. The environment was dark and damp, with a thick layer of grease on the floor, making it feel very uncomfortable to walk on, like stepping in mud.
The imprisoned hosts had vacant eyes. Occasionally, a Yin Fetus would emerge from their bellies, devouring the host and escaping through a small gap. However, they seemed indifferent to Ye Wenxin’s presence, which left her feeling quite puzzled.
She ventured deeper into the dungeon and eventually reached the end, where she saw a girl who was completely different from the other Yin Fetuses.
Her skin was as pale as snow, and her body was semi-transparent. Her dark green hair and eyes seemed to mark her as non-human. Perhaps she was a mutated Yin Fetus or another type of creature. Ye Wenxin couldn’t help but take a closer look. Suddenly, the girl let out a soft moan.
Ye Wenxin was startled, and a chill shot up her spine. Just as she was about to quickly deal with the girl, she noticed the girl’s body arching slightly. Her legs spread apart, and the moaning grew louder as she continued to scream in an extremely seductive posture and voice.
It was the familiar scream of a woman that the Yin Fetuses often emitted, as if they had all mimicked it from her. Not long after, the girl’s legs spread even further, and a green egg emerged from her. (TL: Wtf.)
She soon passed out, seemingly from exhaustion. Ye Wenxin had watched with horror, and had a feeling that this green egg might be the true form of the Yin Fetus. But what exactly was this girl, and how could she produce such an egg?
With curiosity and a fearless attitude, Ye Wenxin took out a small stool from her bag of holding and sat down to observe the girl and the egg.
Two hours, four hours, twenty hours…
The girl finally regained consciousness after sleeping for a whole day. She didn’t notice Ye Wenxin’s presence at all, and immediately began to check the condition of the egg.
After confirming that the green egg was fine, she sighed in relief and showed a relaxed smile. But the next moment, the egg seemed to develop its own consciousness and began to move. The girl’s face changed drastically, then she threw the egg outside.
Ye Wenxin, who was also alarmed, saw the egg flying toward her. She quickly dodged, only to hear the sound of the egg cracking. In that instant, a mutated Yin Fetus, completely different in size from the egg, emerged from it.
Standing at two meters tall, the Yin Fetus made Ye Wenxin wonder how such a large creature could come out of such a small egg. The Yin Fetus seemed to hold no hostility toward the girl; instead, it approached her in a seemingly affectionate manner.
The girl appeared very resistant, and drove the Yin Fetus away. The Yin Fetus, hurt, retreated but glanced at Ye Wenxin before leaving, without attacking her in the dungeon.
This action finally made the girl notice Ye Wenxin.
Their eyes met, and in a flash, Ye Wenxin awkwardly forced a smile. Just as she was about to start a conversation, the girl flew up in a panic, attempting to flee from the dungeon. However, she was restrained by some invisible force. After flying only a few paces, she clumsily fell back down.
Her clothes were already inadequate, and now she looked even more exposed.
The girl was absolutely stunning, but her beauty would be disagreeable for most people.
Seeing the girl in front of her, who could fly and had a semi-transparent body, Ye Wenxin tried to connect the dots with the various past anecdotes she knew of, and came up with, “Are you a ghost?”
The girl was momentarily stunned but eventually responded, “This old one is a Ghost Mother.”
Her voice was deep and seemed to carry the weight of many years, like that of a weary elder. However, her appearance seemed incongruous with the weariness in her eyes.
“Oh, hello, I am the Ghost Father,” Ye Wenxin said. It was her first encounter with a ghost, and she was a bit nervous. She had intended to make a joke to ease the ghost mother’s mood, but upon speaking, she felt something was off.
“You’re a ghost as well?” The Ghost Mother looked at Ye Wenxin with curiosity, completely unbothered by the verbal misstep, and regarded her with an inquisitive gaze.
TL: Damn, that egg-laying scene.
