Release the Female Lead Ch. 450

Chapter 450: Enchanting Flowers

For some reason, Ye Wenxin had the distinct feeling that after today, rumors of Fairy Fengya rejecting the Demon Lord would soon spread throughout the world. She couldn’t help but think this breakthrough had come at an inopportune moment. However, had she not eaten the rabbit, she wouldn’t have had the chance for this breakthrough in the first place.

Fairy Fengya seemed like her destined nemesis, yet Ye Wenxin wouldn’t have experienced these changes if it weren’t for her. As she listened to the murmurs around her, she glanced toward Fairy Fengya in the distance, trying to gauge how much she actually knew.

Fairy Fengya remained as calm as ever, completely out of place from everything happening around her. She hadn’t left but simply stood there, lost in thought, as was her habit.

“What are you staring at!?” Jin Xiaoqin’s alarm bells went off when she noticed where Ye Wenxin was looking. The insecure Jin Xiaoqin still seemed to harbor a grudge toward Fairy Fengya.

Ye Wenxin sobered and started helping bandage the wounded. Suddenly, she sensed an unusual force approaching. The shift in the surrounding pressure reignited her sense of danger, yet it also left her puzzled. She looked up to see a group of more than ten people in the distance, flying toward them.

The one in the lead, dressed in red, was stunningly beautiful, but it couldn’t be Demon Lord Gu Qingcheng. Liu Churan had adopted the same style as the Demon Lord, always wearing red, and even her undergarments had to match the Demon Lord’s. Rather than idolizing the Demon Lord, it was more accurate to say Liu Churan wanted to become her.

Ye Wenxin forced a faint, awkward smile, and then saw the horrified expressions of those around her.

They had just witnessed Demon Lord Gu Qingcheng, and the newly arrived Liu Churan, Palace Master of the Wind and Moon Palace, brought a different type of horror.

Liu Churan carried a long whip, which seemed to be her newest toy. Her brows didn’t even flinch at the sight of thousands of people from the immortal sect. After sweeping her gaze over the devastation around her, she shouted disgruntledly, “She got away again.”

The “she” Liu Churan referred to was, of course, Demon Lord Gu Qingcheng. Ye Wenxin was suddenly glad that she hadn’t prolonged the battle—if she had encountered Liu Churan, who knows what twists might have ensued. At this thought, Ye Wenxin shrank further into the crowd, avoiding direct contact with Liu Churan.

In the face of this great enemy, those of the immortal sects fell into heavy silence. However, Liu Churan suddenly broke into a smile, her voice dripping with irresistible seductiveness.

“Tell this servant, have you seen the Demon Lord?” No one beyond the Demon Lord could resist Liu Churan’s perfected Charm. Regardless of their age or gender, everyone seemed to fall under her spell.

Nascent Soul stage cultivators fared better; they snapped back to their senses in just a moment. Only Fairy Fengya stood steadfast against the Charm, and she seemed to have piqued a large amount of interest in Liu Churan, who then focused her Charm on Fairy Fengya.

Fairy Fengya was immovable, without even a twitch in her facial expression. Liu Churan seemed unable to resist stealing a few more glances at Fairy Fengya before saying with a smile, “This servant is not here to purge your immortal sects. Just tell me which direction the Demon Lord went.”

She didn’t use overt violence to get her point across, but made no secret of her true intention. The crowd exchanged glances, but unfortunately, the enchanting rain of flowers had distracted them from clearly seeing where Ye Wenxin had gone.

Several Charmed people randomly pointed in completely different directions. Liu Churan was still smiling, but her long whip lashed out once more. Those several people burst into pained tears. From Ye Wenxin’s vantage point, she noticed a slight tremble in Abbess Jiunan’s body, as if she were suppressing some emotion.

Liu Churan also seemed to have noticed Abbess Jiunan’s reaction. Her lips curled wider as she shot a smile in the abbess’s direction. Abbess Jiunan hurriedly lowered her head and recited “Amitabha”. It seemed that as a result of Long Qingyue’s statement the other day, Liu Churan had gone to trouble Abbess Jiunan.

Most likely, Liu Churan was the one who inflicted the injuries on Abbess Jiunan’s back. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have arrived so quickly this time. After reaching this conclusion, Ye Wenxin shrank back even further, but she suddenly heard Liu Churan call out a familiar name.

“Ye Wenxin, tell me which direction the Demon Lord went.” Since Liu Churan had called her out by name, Ye Wenxin could only force a wry smile and, bracing herself, stepped forward to confess, “Just now, the D-Demon Lord… used a diversionary tactic, so we don’t know which direction she flew off to.”

Liu Churan gave an “oh” and lifted the whip in her hand, seemingly hinting at something. Ye Wenxin reluctantly added, “It should be to the north.” Her tone carried a hint of uncertainty, but Liu Churan didn’t press and immediately sent a few people to search in that direction.

Ye Wenxin found the sudden trust astonishing. Then again, the vast northern region would indeed make an excellent hiding place for the Demon Lord. However, Ye Wenxin couldn’t quite understand why Liu Churan placed such faith in her. She thought that maybe Liu Churan, who was sinking further into the villain role, was plotting something again.

The atmosphere grew more and more somber. Since the main immortal sect forces were still in Yangzhou City, they couldn’t engage with the Wind and Moon Palace. Liu Churan looked at the situation with a smile and continued, “Since we have gotten the whereabouts, this servant won’t disturb you any longer.”

She and her entourage left in a grand procession. No one tried to stop them, and only Fairy Fengya seemed puzzled. She cast a questioning glance at Ye Wenxin, as if unsure who the suddenly appearing woman was.

Ye Wenxin acted as if she hadn’t seen, observing as the crowd relaxed once the Wind and Moon Palace had left. Yet, she still felt something amiss, and then noticed the corpse worms falling from the sky.

Each of them was extremely large, betraying their origin.

Liu Churan’s resolve in her villainous path drew a bitter smile from Ye Wenxin. Fairy Fengya struck with her Cold Soul Sword again. With graceful ease, she froze and killed all the worms.

Liu Churan, floating in the air, watched the scene with evident amusement. “I’ve heard that Fairy Fengya is a beauty, and today I see that not only is she beautiful, but also truly skilled. It’s a pity that I am occupied with searching for the Demon Lord today. I will certainly come to seek guidance from you another day, Fairy Fengya.”

When Liu Churan also unleashed her full aura, Ye Wenxin was suddenly thankful that Liu Churan hadn’t recklessly challenged Fairy Fengya, or else she, this old mother, would have to see her adopted daughter off early.

Fairy Fengya remained unmoved, as if still unaware of Liu Churan’s identity. However, after Liu Churan had spoken to her, Fairy Fengya finally opened her mouth to ask.

“Who are you?”

In that moment, the members of the immortal sects all turned their eyes toward her. They admired Fairy Fengya’s bravery beneath her beauty, and straightened their backs with pride. Liu Churan’s expression darkened, assuming she was being insulted, since she was unfamiliar with Fairy Fengya and her character. Her voice grew colder as she responded.

“This servant is Liu Churan.”
