Chapter 525: Flipped Over

The sound of the door startled the students awake. They grew even more frightened upon seeing the kitsune, calling her “Miss”. The kitsune sighed with relief and then led them away, not saying a single word to Ye Wenxin the entire time. It was unclear whether she was angry or in a hurry.

The room became empty once more. Stepping outside, Ye Wenxin noticed the thick mist had not dispersed but had grown denser. Fairy Fengya, who had also been ushered to her room, opened the window and stared intently at Ye Wenxin.

“So, you’ve figured it out too?” Ye Wenxin thought back to the abnormality just now. She could never have imagined the classmates she had been interacting with for so many days were ghosts stuck in limbo. Fairy Fengya had yet to respond before she quietly closed the window. Ye Wenxin sighed and returned to rest in her room.

Ye Wenxin was still distracted, but the kitsune was visibly angry, so she hastily nodded. “I understand, Miss. I won’t ever do it again.”

Her determination put the kitsune at ease. As she got up to leave, she suddenly hissed. Ye Wenxin’s eyes focused on a damp stain on the kitsune’s pants. It was blood red. Wanting to check her condition, Ye Wenxin approached the kitsune and pretended to accidentally touch her arm. The kitsune reacted strongly. She immediately flung Ye Wenxin’s hand away in alarm.

Previously, the kitsune had been eager to be with Ye Wenxin, hoping to absorb her peach blossom luck. The kitsune’s unusual reaction confused Ye Wenxin. She feigned a very aggrieved tone, saying, “Miss, please forgive me this once. I know I was wrong.”

She tried to touch the kitsune again. The kitsune retreated a few steps, firmly saying, “I understand, I forgive you.” She left Ye Wenxin’s room immediately after, as if Ye Wenxin were some kind of monstrous threat.

The kitsune was pleased to hear her answer. “Perfect! I need to go out and buy some things. Would you like to accompany me?”
