Chapter 12: Confrontation 2
Zhang Qiyao sat up straight, her posture impeccable.
Lu Jingchen glanced at her, then said nothing more. The two of them walked towards the Lu residence in silence.
When they arrived at the Lu residence, Lu Jingchen parked the car and looked at his sister, saying calmly, “This car is yours from now on.”
“What?” Zhang Qiyao looked at her brother in disbelief. Her brother’s car, not just the model, but the license plate number, was one that no one dared to stop. Now he was saying he was giving it to her? She was a little taken aback.
“Don’t like it? Then I’ll take it back.” Lu Jingchen reached for the keys in her hand.
Zhang Qiyao reacted quickly this time, taking a step back.
“Brother, my dear brother, you are the head of the Lu Group, your word is law! I didn’t understand at first, thank you, brother.”
Zhang Qiyao dashed inside, disappearing in a flash.
Lu Jingchen chuckled and followed her in.
When Qin Ruyan returned home, she found her uncle and aunt still awake, waiting for her.
She closed the door, put down her keys, and took off her coat, hanging it by the door.
“Uncle, Aunt, it’s so late, why aren’t you asleep?”
Qin Chaoyang turned around at the sound of her voice, standing up from the sofa.
“We couldn’t sleep without you coming back.”
Shen Meng walked over and pulled Qin Ruyan to sit on the sofa. She looked up at Qin Chaoyang, who nodded at her.
Shen Meng smiled at Qin Ruyan, “Ruyan, what are your plans now that you’re back? I remember you majored in design in college. If you don’t have any plans for now, why don’t you come work at your uncle’s company? Of course, if you don’t want to work, it’s fine, we can afford to support the Qin family’s little princess.”
Shen Meng stroked Qin Ruyan’s hair, looking at her niece with love.
Qin Ruyan was taken aback. She hadn’t expected her uncle and aunt to have this idea.
Because Qin Chaoyang had Qin Shi, Qin Ruyan had never considered getting involved in their business. She was afraid her uncle and aunt would be unhappy, and she didn’t really have the right qualifications. But she didn’t expect that her uncle and aunt, from beginning to end, had never treated her as an outsider, never thought to guard against her.
Qin Ruyan’s heart suddenly felt a little sour. She sniffed before speaking.
“Uncle, Aunt, I was planning to open a clothing design studio after coming back, but I haven’t started preparing yet. I need to find a place to rent, hire people, and I’m not very familiar with Beijing yet, so it might take a while.”
Qin Ruyan explained her thoughts in detail.
Qin Chaoyang and Shen Meng listened to her until she finished, then Qin Chaoyang spoke up.
“If it’s about starting capital, Ruyan, don’t worry. Your parents left you a sum of money, and Uncle also sets aside a portion of the Qin Pharmaceutical’s dividends for you every year. These two funds should be enough.”
Qin Chaoyang thought about the money his brother had sent him before. He had only used a little during the most difficult days of his entrepreneurship, and later he never used it again. He even regularly deposited a sum of money into that account every month.
Shen Meng also spoke up in time, easing her worries.
“Auntie still has a lot of pocket money. Ruyan, you can use all of Auntie’s money, for our little princess.”
She patted Qin Ruyan’s hand.
Shen Meng’s family was a top-notch family in Haicheng, engaged in business for generations.
Back then, she insisted on being with Qin Chaoyang, and her relationship with her family had thawed considerably. It was Qin Ruyan’s parents who visited her family and repeatedly assured them that they would treat her well and she would not suffer, before her family reluctantly agreed to the marriage.
For the first few years after they got married, they did indeed face difficulties. In the early days of their business, they lacked funds, connections, and everything else.
It was Qin Ruyan’s parents, who were professors, who lowered their heads and helped them network and find investors. That’s how they got to where they are today.
Although Qin Pharmaceutical wasn’t considered a wealthy family, their company had a good reputation in the industry, and the government had also praised them many times. They still had some strength. Not to mention, they had no hesitation in supporting Qin Ruyan to do what she wanted.
Shen Meng and Qin Chaoyang always said that one should be grateful. Qin Ruyan’s parents had helped them so much, and besides, they were family after all.
Qin Ruyan’s eyes turned red. She lowered her head, calming her emotions, trying not to cry.
In recent years, she had gotten used to relying on herself for everything. Eating alone, living alone, going to the hospital alone when she was sick, everything was on her own.
At this moment, she realized that if she had a choice, she would also want to be a little girl who didn’t have to worry about anything and was pampered by others.
“Thank you, Uncle and Auntie. If I need anything, I will definitely ask you.”
Qin Ruyan’s hesitant determination solidified at this moment.
She didn’t want to go back abroad anymore. She also craved family, craved companionship.
