Chapter 14: Knot in the Heart
For a long time, Qin Shi finally reacted.
He carefully hugged her, not daring to hold her too tightly, and patted her back.
“It’s all in the past, like smoke. Now you’re back, we’re all here, we’re always a family, we’ll always be with you.”
His voice was a little choked. His sister had indeed suffered a lot in the past few years. She had suffered a lot.
Qin Ruyan couldn’t stop crying, her tears and snot smeared all over Qin Shi.
Qin Shi just comforted her a few words and said nothing else. He knew that at this moment, Qin Ruyan just needed an outlet, a listener.
After a few minutes, Qin Ruyan calmed down, and when she realized that her tears had smeared on Qin Shi, she staggered back a few steps.
“Brother, I’m sorry, I…”
Qin Shi sighed and grabbed her hand.
“We’re a family, you don’t have to be strong in front of your brother.”
Qin Shi had always lived a simple and smooth life, without experiencing too much hardship. He had always been very heartbroken for Qin Ruyan.
“I know you’ve solved the rent problem, and you can also design, but you’ve just come back, there are some things you don’t understand, brother can help you.”
Qin Shi carefully chose his words.
“Brother believes you can handle it, but I hope you avoid detours. We’re happy when you’re doing well, and we also benefit from it.”
Qin Ruyan nodded.
Qin Shi discreetly took out a bank card from his bag and placed it in her palm.
“This is the dowry money I saved for you. It’s my bonus for the past few years. Don’t worry, I also have my own savings.”
Qin Shi held Qin Ruyan’s hand, “Just consider it as my investment in your clothing store. When you make money, you can give me dividends, okay?”
Qin Ruyan was stunned. She didn’t want to accept it, but she couldn’t refuse Qin Shi.
She pondered for a long time before reluctantly agreeing.
“Then you consider this as an investment, we’ll each have 50%. When the studio starts to make a profit, I’ll give you a financial report every month, and we’ll split it evenly.”
Qin Shi frowned. Was she calculating so clearly? But Qin Ruyan was adamant, and she seemed to mean it when she said she wouldn’t accept it if he didn’t agree.
Qin Shi sighed and reluctantly agreed to her explanation, “Alright, then I’ll wait for you to make money and give me a share.”
He ruffled her hair, whispered a few more words of advice, then turned and walked out of the room.
“Get some rest.”
Qin Ruyan nodded. After Qin Shi left, she sat back down at the table and organized her sketches.
She got her pajamas out of the closet and walked to the bathroom.
Qin Ruyan went into the bathroom, washed her face, and looked at herself in the mirror.
Her eyes were a little red, and she looked a bit haggard.
She frowned, put down her things, took a shower, and applied moisturizer before leaving the bathroom.
Qin Ruyan went to the table and picked up her phone to check it.
Zhang Qiyao had sent her a lot of messages on WeChat. She replied one by one, telling her about her recent plans to open a studio and that she might not be able to go shopping with her anytime soon.
Then, Zhang Qiyao called her on video chat.
Qin Ruyan was startled and instinctively tapped the answer button.
“Yanyan, you’re opening a clothing design studio?”
Zhang Qiyao was in her living room at home. She was alone today and didn’t bother going back to her room.
She was sitting on the sofa, holding the TV remote, a little bored. She had been pressing buttons for a while but couldn’t find anything she wanted to watch.
She had originally planned to ask Qin Ruyan to go out shopping tomorrow, but she didn’t expect Qin Ruyan to open a design studio. As her best friend, she had to show her concern immediately.
Qin Ruyan smiled, “Yeah, I just found a place and signed a year-long lease.”
Qin Ruyan stood by the window, looking at the twinkling stars outside. Were two of them her parents, watching over her?
Qin Ruyan smiled brightly, “I’ve also prepared my sketches. I’ll go check out the fabric market these next few days. I’m planning to officially open in three months.”
This was the first time she had devoted herself wholeheartedly to something. She was very confident and happy, and she wanted to share it with her best friend.
