Chapter 16: Touching
The next morning, Qin Ruyan woke up early.
She was going out today, so she put on a black sporty and lazy outfit: a hooded sweatshirt paired with matching straight-leg wide-leg pants, making her look tall and slim.
After washing up and applying skincare, Qin Ruyan put on some sunscreen and went downstairs.
Everyone in the house was still at home.
Qin Shi was surprised when he saw her outfit.
“Going out today?”
Although Qin Ruyan usually didn’t wear high heels, her attire today seemed like she was going out and would be gone for a long time.
Qin Ruyan nodded. She walked to the dining table, sat in her seat, and took half a corn cob.
“I’m going to check out the garment market today, take a look at some fabric.”
Qin Ruyan took a bite of the corn and then a sip of milk before smiling.
“Brother, you invested in me, I have to start making money quickly to give you dividends!”
Qin Chaoyang frowned when he heard that.
“Ruyan, you accepted your brother’s investment, why won’t you accept your uncle’s?”
He was a little unhappy. His niece wouldn’t accept his red envelope but took his son’s. He wasn’t comfortable scolding Qin Ruyan, so he turned to Qin Shi with a disgruntled expression.
Qin Ruyan was taken aback and felt a little guilty.
Qin Shi promptly intervened, “Dad, I said that in the future, I’ll let Ruyan handle all my girlfriend’s clothes, that’s why she accepted it.”
Qin Ruyan nodded, “Yes, yes, my brother and I agreed, in the future, my future sister-in-law’s clothing will be handled by me!”
Qin Chaoyang felt a little better, but he was still a bit unwilling.
He pulled out his phone and transferred a sum of money to Qin Ruyan’s account.
“This is for my future daughter-in-law’s clothes. In the future, all my future daughter-in-law’s clothes will be handled by you, Ruyan.”
Qin Shi thought his dad was a little childish, but he didn’t say anything.
Qin Ruyan couldn’t help but twitch her lips. She sighed inwardly.
“Okay, Uncle.”
Qin Ruyan finished her breakfast and then got up, walked to the entrance, changed her shoes, took her phone and keys, and went out.
“I’m leaving. Don’t wait for me to eat dinner tonight, I’ll be back late.”
Before she could leave, Qin Shi grabbed her collar.
“Where are you going? I’ll drive you, it’s not easy to get a taxi now.”
They lived in a villa area, there were no buses, and it would take a long time to hail a taxi. Qin Ruyan didn’t refuse, she had already made an appointment with Zhang Qiyao.
“I’m going to the city center first. I’m meeting my best friend to look at fabrics together, we’re meeting in the CBD.”
Qin Shi nodded. He was going to the city center today, and it was convenient for him to drop Qin Ruyan off on the way. Even if it wasn’t convenient, he still intended to give her a ride.
The siblings walked out of the house together. Half an hour later, Qin Ruyan arrived at the designated location. She unbuckled her seatbelt and turned to look at Qin Shi.
“Brother, I’m going now. Be careful driving.”
They couldn’t park there, so Qin Shi didn’t say much. “Call or text me if you need anything.”
Qin Ruyan nodded, got out of the car, and closed the door. She waved to Qin Shi.
Qin Shi started the car and left. Qin Ruyan walked towards the coffee shop.
Zhang Qiyao hadn’t arrived yet when she got there. She ordered a cup of milk tea and a latte.
The milk tea was for her, Zhang Qiyao liked latte, and she knew her best friend’s preferences well.
Five minutes later, Zhang Qiyao arrived.
Qin Ruyan was sitting in a private room, making it easier to talk.
Zhang Qiyao came in and sat opposite her.
“Ruyan, I checked the information of several local fabric suppliers in Beijing yesterday. The reputation is good, but the price is quite expensive. I see that the fabric in Hangzhou seems to be okay too, and the price is about 35% cheaper than the local sources in Beijing. I think we should go there for a field trip.”
Qin Ruyan was stunned. She thought Zhang Qiyao only planned to invest money, but she didn’t expect her to consider these things. And in just one night, she had done so much.
Qin Ruyan suddenly felt a little hot in her eyes. How could she deserve to have a friend like Zhang Qiyao?
Qin Ruyan sniffed and spoke calmly.
“Qiyao, you didn’t sleep much last night to check all this information, did you?”
Even with makeup, Qin Ruyan could see the faint blue under Zhang Qiyao’s eyes.
Zhang Qiyao smiled, “Ruyan, I’ve never really had anything I wanted to do. I’m a very lazy person. You know my family affairs are taken care of by my dad and brother. They don’t let me handle those messy things.”
Zhang Qiyao was truly a genuine socialite, raised in a loving and harmonious family atmosphere since childhood.
“So when you said you wanted to open a studio, besides wanting to support you as your best friend, I also wanted to see, you know, without relying on my family, just you and me, can we two also do something well.”
She wasn’t a pampered heiress who couldn’t touch anything, it’s just that her family spoiled her.
She could not work, she could not earn money, but she couldn’t not learn to earn money.
