Chapter 45: Sweetness 2

Qin Ruyan looked up at him, then down at the milk he was holding, and furrowed her brow.

“I don’t really like drinking milk,” she said. She always felt that milk had a fishy taste, and she couldn’t get used to it.

Lu Jingchen lowered his head slightly and reached out to touch her throat.

“Your throat doesn’t hurt anymore?” Her voice had been hoarse last night, and she had even cried in the end.

“Drinking some milk will make you feel better,” he softly coaxed her. After all, she was his wife, and the person he loved.

“Can you switch to something else? I want to drink honey water,” she raised her eyes, her eyes now with a hint of coquettishness, perhaps she didn’t even realize she was being flirtatious.

Lu Jingchen smiled and stood up straight.

“Alright, whatever my wife says goes.” He picked up the cup and walked out of the bedroom.

He returned in less than five minutes, holding a cup of honey water.

Lu Jingchen sat on the edge of the bed and handed the cup to her. Qin Ruyan sat up, but as she reached for the cup, he pulled it back.

She was stunned for a moment, pursed her lips, and looked up, her cold eyes fixed on him.

Now she wasn’t afraid of him anymore?

Lu Jingchen smiled, “Don’t misunderstand, Mrs. Lu, I’m not refusing to give you a drink, it’s just that you should sit up properly, and I’ll feed you, after all, it was my fault that you can’t get out of bed.”

He brought the cup to her lips, and Qin Ruyan took a sip, but then stopped.

Lu Jingchen glanced at her and raised an eyebrow.

“Don’t you like it?”

He had put a spoonful of honey in it.

Qin Ruyan shook her head, “No, it’s a bit too sweet.”

She didn’t like things that were overly sweet.

Lu Jingchen nodded, “I’ll pay attention next time, what are your plans for today?”

Qin Ruyan pulled the blanket up, looking at him with a hint of wariness.

“I still hurt a bit,” she said directly enough.

Lu Jingchen smiled, “I know, I won’t touch you today.”

She breathed a sigh of relief, thought for a moment, and then spoke softly, “I have to go to the studio tomorrow to see the designers who came for the interview. I want to stay at home today and not go out, okay?”

She couldn’t delay her studio matters any longer.

Lu Jingchen nodded, “Of course, but are you going to sleep now? Will you be able to sleep tonight then?”

Qin Ruyan felt like his words had a hidden meaning, like he was hinting at something.

“No, I’m not sleeping now, I just don’t want to move, I’m just lying down, I’m not sleeping. I can sleep at night.”

Lu Jingchen lowered his head and chuckled, reaching out to pinch her ear.

“What do you think I want to do? You’re so nervous? I meant there’s a projector in the room, do you want to watch a movie?” Lu Jingchen found it a bit funny, her eyes were full of apprehension.

Qin Ruyan felt like she might be overthinking, maybe he didn’t mean anything by it.

After all, he was the one who had exerted himself last night, and she, the one who was forced to enjoy it, was exhausted, so it was understandable that Lu Jingchen would be physically drained today.

Thinking about it, she looked at him with a complex expression.

Well, his skin was a bit pale, and he had dark circles under his eyes, it seemed like he wasn’t feeling very well either.

Lu Jingchen watched her, her eyes changing expressions, then looking at him with what seemed like sympathy. He was a bit confused.

“Mrs. Lu, what’s with that expression?”

Qin Ruyan pulled herself out of her thoughts and waved her hand.

“Nothing, I think watching a movie with the projector is a good idea.”

Lu Jingchen looked at her, not quite believing her, but since she wouldn’t say anything, he had no choice.

“Then you choose the movie.” He turned on the projector and handed the remote to Qin Ruyan.

He took off his casual wear, lifted the blanket and got into bed. He took two pillows and placed them against the headboard, then reached out to pull her into his arms.

“Would you like to watch it like this?” He lowered his head, their faces close. “I promise, no touching.”

Last night when he bathed her, the inside of her thighs were red and swollen, and she would need to rest for a few days.

“Sure.” A free human pillow, why not?

Qin Ruyan leaned her head against his chest comfortably. She randomly picked a comedy to watch.

She wasn’t really interested in watching a movie. She mainly wanted to rest because her waist was still sore and her thigh was still a bit painful.

She couldn’t sleep, but she didn’t want to move.

Lu Jingchen closed the remote-controlled curtains, and the room fell into darkness. However, the sunlight shining through the floor created a reflection, and the projection screen had some light, adding a touch of ambiguity to the atmosphere.

Qin Ruyan leaned against him, wrapping her arms around his waist. Neither of them spoke, only the voices from the movie filled the room.

Lu Jingchen played with her fingers.

“I remember, Madam can play the piano and dance.” Although it was a question, he used a firm tone.

“Yes, I know a little bit of both. What’s wrong?” She didn’t look up, her focus was still on the movie.

“I just wanted to say, there’s a piano at home, can you…” He lowered his voice and whispered in her ear.

Qin Ruyan suddenly jumped up from his arms, her face flushed red.

“Lu Jingchen!”

She called his full name, seeming genuinely angry.

Lu Jingchen quickly patted her back to comfort her, “Didn’t you say you weren’t feeling well? Why are you making such a big move? I didn’t say now, I just said next time.”

Qin Ruyan slapped his hand away, “Is this a matter of next time or not? Don’t even think about it!”

He actually wanted to… on the piano!

How could there be such a shameless person.

Lu Jingchen hurriedly coaxed her, “Then let’s change it. The study? That’s okay, right? You don’t allow it in your space, but my study is available for Madam to use.”

Qin Ruyan glared at him, covering his mouth with her hand.

“One more word, and we’re sleeping in separate rooms tonight!”

Lu Jingchen pulled her hand down, holding it behind her back, and used his other hand to hold her head, kissing her.

It was a long and passionate kiss, until Qin Ruyan was so soft in his arms that he finally released her.

“Don’t be angry, Madam. If it doesn’t work next time, then next time?” His eyes and voice were full of laughter.

“You said you wouldn’t touch me. As expected, my uncle was right, you are insidious.” Qin Ruyan was out of breath from his kiss, and she was angry at herself for being weak and not resisting his kiss.

“Where did I touch you? If I had touched you, would you still be wearing your clothes now? You’re wearing my black shirt, it’s already very tempting. It’s only because I have strong willpower that I didn’t take your clothes off.” Lu Jingchen, shameless, said confidently.

Qin Ruyan almost laughed at him, “Brother, you have to blame your people for not doing their job well. It’s this late, and they haven’t delivered the clothes yet.”

Lu Jingchen squeezed her hand, “But I like Madam wearing my clothes better. Although it tests my self-control, I’m very happy, because you also have my scent on you. When I’m away on business, if you can’t sleep, you can wear my clothes, it’s good for sleep.”
