Chapter 5: Homecoming 2
Qin Chaoyang, Shen Meng, and Qin Shi were all standing at the door waiting for her.
As soon as Qin Ruyan got out of the car, she was greeted by the three of them.
“Ruyan, you’re finally back,” Shen Meng held Qin Ruyan’s hand with concern.
Qin Chaoyang and Qin Shi, brothers, lost their parents at a young age and grew up depending on each other. Fortunately, both of them were successful and went on to university, starting their own businesses after graduation. They both achieved some success in their careers.
They thought their two families would support and accompany each other, but fate had other plans.
Qin Ruyan’s parents passed away, leaving her, a sixteen or seventeen-year-old girl, alone in the world.
Fortunately, Qin Chaoyang and Shen Meng had a harmonious marriage, and they genuinely treated their only niece with love.
“Uncle, Aunt, it’s been a long time. I’m sorry for making you worry,” Qin Ruyan’s eyes welled up.
Qin Shi took her luggage and patted his only cousin on the shoulder, “Don’t leave once you’re back. This will always be your home.”
Qin Shi also felt sorry for his sister. Their parents passed away at the same time, leaving her alone in the world. Fortunately, they were there for her.
Qin Chaoyang also wiped his eyes.
His brother and sister-in-law were gone, leaving this child alone and helpless.
He stepped forward, “Good girl, you’ve been through a lot these past years.”
Although they often went abroad to see her, kept in touch with her, and cared for her, nothing they gave could compare to even a little bit of their parents’ love.
Qin Ruyan felt like she had cried all her tears when her parents passed away. Maybe it was because she hadn’t been back in years, or maybe it was because she was touched by her uncle’s family, but her tears were uncontrollable.
Fortunately, Qin Shi reacted quickly.
“Alright, alright, let your sister go inside and rest. Don’t stand outside forever.”
He was afraid that if they continued chatting, Qin Ruyan would cry even harder.
Qin Ruyan wiped her tears. Shen Meng patted her hand. She controlled her emotions before speaking.
“Your aunt made your favorite dishes, but I don’t know if your tastes have changed.”
After all, she had been abroad for so long, it was possible her diet had changed.
Qin Ruyan shook her head. “No, I love everything Aunt makes!”
She smiled, her eyes sparkling with joy.
Qin Chaoyang looked at his wife, son, and niece, and sighed.
“Let’s all go in and eat. Ruyan has been on a plane for a long time and must be tired. Go rest.”
The group walked into the villa.
“Ruyan, your aunt has prepared your room for you. It’s on the second floor. If there’s anything you don’t like, we can change it.”
Shen Meng looked at Qin Ruyan with love.
When Qin Chaoyang and she were struggling with their business, Qin Ruyan’s parents had helped a lot.
She had always been grateful, and she genuinely loved her only niece.
Qin Ruyan nodded.
“Aunt’s arrangements must be great.”
She picked up her luggage and was about to go upstairs, but Qin Shi stopped her.
“Let me.”
How could he let his sister carry her luggage up the stairs? He immediately took it from her.
Qin Chaoyang and Shen Meng gave Qin Shi a “you’re smart” look.
Qin Ruyan didn’t argue with her cousin; it was indeed a bit heavy.
“Thanks, brother.”
The siblings walked upstairs. They reached a room on the second floor, and Qin Shi stopped.
“This is it. Sister, if you need anything, tell your brother, and I’ll arrange it for you.”
Although they were cousins, Ruyan was 24 years old, and it wasn’t appropriate for him to enter her room.
Qin Ruyan took the luggage. “Okay, thanks, brother.”
She entered the room. Behind her, Qin Shi closed the door and went downstairs.
