Chapter 50: Missing You & The First Alias
Qin Ruyan walked out of the mall and sent a WeChat message to Lu Jingchen.
Zhang Qiyao was also looking at her phone at this moment. She couldn’t help but twitch her lips.
“Yanyan, I have to go back.”
She had been out for a while, and if she didn’t go back, Ji Feng might find her whereabouts. She had been staying at Lu’s mansion recently and didn’t go out much, because she thought Ji Feng wouldn’t dare to go to her house to catch her.
Qin Ruyan nodded.
“Then take your time on the road, send me a message when you get home.” Lu Jingchen was away on a business trip, and she also planned to go back to see her uncle and aunt, not planning to return to Yujingyuan.
The two parted ways at the intersection.
Qin Ruyan hailed a taxi and went back to Qin Chaoyang’s place.
Her return startled Qin Chaoyang. This was only the third day after their marriage, why was she back? Was there something wrong between them?
Qin Ruyan patiently explained, “Uncle, he was originally on honeymoon leave, but I need to take care of the studio, so he postponed it. He went on a business trip today, just left, really.”
She also showed Qin Chaoyang the message from Lu Jingchen on WeChat, reporting his safe arrival, and Qin Chaoyang finally breathed a sigh of relief.
“Ruyan, now that you are married, live a good life with Jingchen. Uncle can see that he truly loves you.”
If he didn’t love her, Lu Jingchen wouldn’t have given them a hundred million without blinking an eye, nor would he have investigated the matter eight years ago for her.
Qin Ruyan’s eyelashes drooped, and she hummed in response.
She didn’t go back tonight, and after dinner, she went back to her room. She opened her laptop and searched for information online.
Chen Zhong had sent her a detailed list of fabric suppliers in Beijing, and she hadn’t had time to look at it yet.
She had only looked at it for a while when a video call came through on WeChat.
She picked up her phone and looked at it, it was from Lu Jingchen.
Qin Ruyan looked down at her pajamas and buttoned the top button of her collar. She then placed her phone on a stand and pressed the answer button.
When he answered the video call, Lu Jingchen knew she wasn’t at their house. He raised his eyebrows slightly.
“My wife isn’t home?”
Qin Ruyan hummed in response and casually said, “You’re not here, I’m afraid I won’t be able to sleep, I’m at my uncle’s place now.”
She casually closed her laptop and leaned back on the chair.
“When will you be back?” She didn’t mention buying him a gift, and she was a little eager to see his reaction when he received it.
Lu Jingchen was sitting on the sofa in the hotel at this moment. He didn’t come here for any official business, the main reason was for the wedding ring.
“Probably in three days, is my wife missing me?” His voice was full of laughter, his eyes fixed on her.
Qin Ruyan didn’t answer him directly, “I just want to stay here for a few more days, your house is too big and empty.”
“It seems my wife misses me, she can’t even sleep without me.”
Qin Ruyan pursed her lips and hung up the video call without expression.
She opened her laptop again, and the phone screen beside her lit up again. She picked it up and took a look.
“It’s true that I miss my wife, I’m not joking.”
She smiled, but didn’t reply. Her gaze returned to the computer screen.
Qin Ruyan stayed at Qin Chaoyang’s place for the past two days, searching for information online every day. It must be said that Chen Zhong’s ability was truly worth the seven-figure annual salary Lu Jingchen gave him.
She checked the feedback from customers on the merchants selected by Chen Zhong, who had a good reputation, and it was consistent with the information provided by Chen Zhong.
She had selected three suppliers and planned to visit them the next day to conduct on-site inspections. If everything went well, she would sign the contracts.
Thinking about this, Qin Ruyan took out her phone and opened the banking app to check her balance. There wasn’t much left. She had spent some on her studio and bought a gift for Lu Jingchen, leaving only an eight-digit balance in her account. She felt a lack of security.
The money Qin Chaoyang and his wife gave her, she hadn’t touched after using a portion, fearing they might need it urgently. Lu Jingchen transferred funds to her account on their wedding day, but she still felt it wasn’t enough.
She picked up the plain water beside her desk, took a sip, and pressed a few keys on the keyboard. A special software popped up on the computer screen. She clicked it open and sent a message.
Y: “Any jobs lately? I’m running low on cash.”
The group chat, which had been silent for a long time, suddenly exploded.
Li Li Li: “You’re taking jobs? Didn’t you say you were taking a break lately?”
Coke who wants to earn a billion every day: “Y must have spent all his money chasing girls, right?”
Qin Ruyan chuckled.
Y: “If there’s no job, I’ll log off. I have something to do.”
They had only interacted online, never meeting or even talking on voice calls. They didn’t even know each other’s gender.
BL: “There is one. That old man from F City placed an order here, wanting to investigate something in the capital.”
Qin Ruyan furrowed her brows. F City? That old man who was about to retire but for some reason didn’t and even expanded his influence by nearly three times?
Y: “Send me the order.”
BL: “You’re taking the job?” He asked casually while transferring the order to her account.
Y: “Not for now. I’ll take a look first. I’m still on vacation.”
After sending this message and waiting for the order to be transferred to her account, she exited the software with a blank expression.
When Qin Ruyan was in elementary school, she accidentally came across computer programming. Qin Zheng and his wife were very busy and rarely cared about her studies. She was quite rebellious at that time. Since her parents didn’t care about her, she skipped school, went to internet cafes to play games, trying to get their attention. She did this quite a lot.
One time, she accidentally clicked into a hacker website. She didn’t know it was the top black hat conference in the hacking world at that time. She went in and stirred things up. When she exited the terminal, everyone present could only see a network trace of Y.
At that time, she was still young and didn’t realize that she had become famous because of this incident.
Later, she went abroad. She was short of money and had been investigating the death of her parents, but she had spent a lot of money and didn’t get any useful information. She started taking jobs. Besides participating in clothing design competitions with prizes, she also participated in computer competitions, whether it was software programming or hacking contests, she participated in them all.
Until later, when she won again, BL dragged her into a one-on-one PK in a room. The result was unsurprising, she won. After that, BL was convinced and had been trying to get her to join their inner circle, but she refused. Later, BL told her she could take jobs and earn money, and she finally agreed.
She had joined the International Criminal Police Organization’s Special Detective Agency for nearly four years.
She was quite non-mainstream at that time, and all the software that needed a name used this name.
Later, she got used to it and never changed it.
