Chapter 52: Wedding Ring
Qin Ruyan woke up to an empty bed.
She threw back the covers and got out of bed, walking out of the bedroom.
In the living room, Lu Jingchen sat on the sofa, holding a box in his hand. She paused, her steps halting in place.
Lu Jingchen heard the door close and turned to look at her. He placed the box aside, walked over, took her hand, and led her to sit down on the sofa.
“Are you hungry? I left breakfast for you in the kitchen.”
Qin Ruyan shook her head. “I ate a bit too much hot pot last night, I’m still full, I don’t really want to eat. Where’s Yaoyao?”
She hadn’t seen her since she woke up, and she wasn’t in the living room either.
Lu Jingchen raised an eyebrow, put his arm around her waist. “She’s already hogged her brother’s wife for a whole night, isn’t that enough? She ate breakfast here this morning and went back.”
Qin Ruyan hummed in response, then yawned again. She hadn’t slept well last night.
“I’m going to wash my face, wake myself up.” She reached out to pry his arm away from her waist, but couldn’t budge it.
She raised her head and gave him a cold look.
Lu Jingchen chuckled. “Should I carry you in? We haven’t seen each other in so many days, you still made me sleep alone last night.” His voice sounded a little aggrieved.
Qin Ruyan pursed her lips and smiled.
“Mr. Lu, that’s your own sister, are you jealous?”
Lu Jingchen leaned close to her ear, his voice laced with laughter. “The first time I saw you after you came back, Yaoyao was practically all over you. At that moment, I was thinking, my sister, she wouldn’t be into women, would she?”
Qin Ruyan stood up, ignoring his nonsense and turned to walk into the master bedroom. She hadn’t brushed her teeth or washed her face yet.
Lu Jingchen watched her back and smiled. He picked up the box on the sofa and followed her into the bedroom at a leisurely pace.
When Qin Ruyan finished washing up, she found Lu Jingchen sitting on the bed, as if he owned the place.
She walked over, but before she could sit down, he pulled her onto his lap.
“You!” She just started to speak when Lu Jingchen pinched her chin and kissed her.
She had just finished washing up, her face still had some steam on it, and her mouth had the fresh scent of toothpaste.
Lu Jingchen couldn’t help but hug her tighter, his hand reaching into her sleepwear.
…
After a while, he took her other hand and, while she was lost in his kiss, secretly put something on it.
Qin Ruyan was kissed until her brain was oxygen-deprived, and she struggled dazedly for a while before he finally released her lips.
She lay in his arms, panting, hearing his voice, laced with desire, in her ear.
“Seems like we haven’t kissed enough, Mrs. Lu hasn’t learned how to breathe properly yet?”
He hadn’t even kissed her enough, and her face was already flushed red.
Qin Ruyan hadn’t recovered yet, she was too weak to argue with him about this.
Lu Jingchen wasn’t in a hurry, he pinched her neck with one hand, stroked her back with the other, and then reached in to fix her clothes. Two minutes later, Qin Ruyan regained her senses.
She glared at Lu Jingchen, but her glare held no real power.
She was about to get up from him when she caught sight of the ring on her finger, which he was holding.
She froze, looked up at Lu Jingchen, and said nothing.
Lu Jingchen smiled. “It fits well, doesn’t it? Do you like it, Madam?”
This ring was a pink diamond he had bought earlier and had it cut. In the center was a heart-shaped pink diamond, surrounded by a circle of small diamonds.
Qin Ruyan raised her hand and looked at it. “When did you prepare this?”
This wasn’t the engagement ring he had mentioned before. It was clearly a new one.
Lu Jingchen lowered his head and smiled, his hand resting on hers.
“Wedding ring. I went on this business trip specifically to order this ring, for my wife. Naturally, I couldn’t be careless.” His tone was sincere, and his eyes never left Qin Ruyan’s face.
She smiled.
“I like it very much.”
Lu Jingchen’s hand moved to her waist and pressed down.
“Do you really like it? Then shouldn’t you compensate me for being alone last night?”
Qin Ruyan thought the rumors were false. They said he didn’t touch women. Now, thinking back to their wedding night, she still felt a blush creep up her cheeks.
She turned her head and looked at Lu Jingchen.
His eyebrows were gentle, his face like a landscape painting, meticulously carved.
She admitted, she did like his face.
She reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him on the corner of his lips.
“It’s not proper to do this during the day. I’ll make it up to you tonight, alright?”
Lu Jingchen chuckled. “Of course, anything for my wife. But, Madam, are you really not considering the piano room or the study?”
He still wasn’t giving up?
Qin Ruyan pinched his arm. “If you keep talking nonsense, we’re sleeping in separate rooms starting today.”
Lu Jingchen quickly pulled her close and softly coaxed her. “Alright, not today, then how about next time? Or when Madam feels like it, just tell me. If you’re too embarrassed to say it, just give me a hint, I’ll understand.”
Qin Ruyan’s most direct response was to get up, grab her clothes, and go to the bathroom. She had to go out today.
Behind her, Lu Jingchen watched her back and smiled.
He didn’t move, just sat on the edge of the bed, waiting for her to come out. Then, he stepped forward, cupped her face, and kissed her again.
“Where is Madam going today? Do you need a driver?”
Qin Ruyan pursed her lips. A few days ago, she took on the old man’s job in F City, and she planned to go out today.
But, Lu Jingchen seemed to want to go out with her.
She pondered for a moment before speaking. “I’m going to meet someone.”
Lu Jingchen paused, his hand holding hers, and chuckled softly. “Who is so important? More important than accompanying your wife?”
