Chapter 9: Chance Encounter 3
Qin Ruyan and Zhang Qiyao walked into the private room.
Zhang Qiyao had already ordered some dishes and handed the menu to Qin Ruyan.
“Yanyan, do you want to order anything else?”
Qin Ruyan took the menu but didn’t look at it. She closed it.
“I had dinner with my uncle and aunt before I came out, and I’m still a little full. You can just order, and if we run out, I’ll order more later.”
She casually poured hot tea for both Zhang Qiyao and herself. She picked up her cup and took a sip, finding it a bit bitter.
Zhang Qiyao didn’t push her. “Okay, we’ll see if you want anything else when the food arrives. I’ll order it for you.”
Qin Ruyan nodded.
It was almost autumn, and the weather was still a bit hot.
Qin Ruyan took off her thin cardigan, leaving only a short-sleeved shirt and a pair of jeans.
She had slender limbs, fair skin, and her long hair was casually tied into a bun.
She looked like an eighteen-year-old student.
Zhang Qiyao glanced at Qin Ruyan.
Actually, the reason she and Qin Ruyan became good friends was due to Qin Ruyan’s beauty.
Zhang Qiyao was a face-value enthusiast. With her brother as a precedent, she was naturally more picky.
But back then, when she was abroad, she was completely captivated by Qin Ruyan’s beauty.
So, she used the excuse of being classmates, even though they hadn’t been in the same class for long, to add Qin Ruyan on WeChat.
On the day she added her, she stalked Qin Ruyan’s WeChat, but unfortunately, there were only a few pictures of her.
She even doubted for a while if she was a lesbian.
Because for a while, she couldn’t help but blush and feel her heart race when she was with Qin Ruyan.
She sat next to Qin Ruyan and chatted about recent gossip.
“Knock knock.”
There was a knock on the door, but Zhang Qiyao didn’t turn around.
“Come in.”
The door opened, and neither of them turned around, thinking it was the waiter delivering food.
Lu Jingchen stood at the door, not entering.
He raised an eyebrow, watching Zhang Qiyao practically clinging to Qin Ruyan. His brow furrowed.
Could his little sister possibly like girls?
Seeing the door open but no one coming to take their order, Qin Ruyan turned her head first, stunned.
A man stood at the doorway, tall and leggy, with exquisite features, a suit jacket draped over his arm.
He didn’t speak, just quietly looked at the two of them.
Qin Ruyan tugged at Zhang Qiyao’s sleeve.
“What’s wrong?”
Zhang Qiyao’s words were cut short, and she jumped to her feet.
“Brother…”
Lu Jingchen glanced at his nervous sister and spoke calmly.
“Why are you reacting so dramatically? I’ve told you countless times to be composed in public.”
Zhang Qiyao’s mouth twitched. “Brother, how come you’re here?”
Lu Jingchen looked at Qin Ruyan and said leisurely, “I just had a little get-together with your brother, Jifeng, upstairs.”
Zhang Qiyao nodded. “Well, brother, if you have nothing else, can you go back? I still need to have dinner with my friend. We just got here.”
She was afraid her brother would take her back right then and there, so she had to take the initiative.
Lu Jingchen glanced at his sister, then spoke slowly.
“Your friend? Why don’t you introduce us?”
Qin Ruyan didn’t expect the topic to shift to her.
She stepped forward and extended her hand. “I’m Qin Ruyan, nice to meet you.”
Lu Jingchen lowered his head and looked at the finger extended before him.
White, slender, with neatly trimmed, rounded nails, no nail polish.
He reached out and lightly grasped it.
“Lu Jingchen.”
Then he withdrew his hand.
Qin Ruyan breathed a sigh of relief. This guy had a strong aura.
Zhang Qiyao looked at her brother. Today he was even taking the initiative to greet others?
Then she turned to look at her best friend.
Hmm, fair skin, beautiful features, long legs, rosy lips, white teeth, and a cute little nose.
