Chapter 35: You’ll Be My Brother-in-Law Soon

Jian Xu glared at Pei Yan Zhou. “Mr. Pei? Why are you with her?”

He had seen him in the Beijing news. Pei Yan Zhou, CEO of Jingche Entertainment Group. At first, he and Jian Ruo Ci had entered the office one after the other. He thought they had just bumped into each other and didn’t pay much attention. But it turned out they knew each other.

Jian Ruo Ci slapped Jian Xu on the head. “Don’t be disrespectful. He’s my friend.”

“Friends are so close.” Jian Xu frowned. “Jian Ruo Ci, I’m young, but I’m not stupid.”

He glanced at Pei Yan Zhou. “This is your dog, right?”

“Last time I asked if you had a dog outside, you wouldn’t admit it.”

Jian Ruo Ci was speechless. “What dog? He’s my friend.”

“Really?” He looked at Pei Yan Zhou with some doubt, wanting to get an answer from him.

Pei Yan Zhou nodded faintly, not denying it. But his next words made Jian Xu’s face turn black. “He’s a friend now, but he’ll be your brother-in-law soon.”

Jian Xu clenched his fist at his side. “You have no shame.”

He swung his fist towards Pei Yan Zhou’s face. Jian Ruo Ci quickly stood in front of Pei Yan Zhou. Jian Xu stopped. “Jian Ruo Ci, are you crazy?”

Jian Ruo Ci had a headache. She grabbed Jian Xu’s ear and scolded him. “First: I’m your sister. Second: Where are your manners? Jian Xu, he just helped us. Third: Your fist should be aimed at the person who hurt you, not him. Fourth: He’s older than you. Call him brother or uncle. Fifth: If I hear you call him a dog again, I’ll beat you to death.”

Jian Xu’s face was black. Pei Yan Zhou curled his lips into a smile, raised an eyebrow, and provocatively looked at him.

Jian Xu: “You’re going to beat me to death for this dog?”

Jian Ruo Ci slapped him on the head again. “How did I teach you to speak?”

Jian Xu frowned and looked at him coldly. “Uncle, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have called you a dog. Thank you for helping me and this silly woman just now. But being my brother-in-law is absolutely impossible.”

“It’s okay. We’ll all be family in the future.” Pei Yan Zhou curled his lips and whispered in Jian Ruo Ci’s ear. “He’s just like you. You really did raise him well.”

Jian Ruo Ci was speechless.

Two rebellious children, clashing with each other, and she was caught in the crossfire. What a sin.

The three of them sat on the sofa. Jian Xu sat between Jian Ruo Ci and Pei Yan Zhou. He was doing it on purpose. He wouldn’t give this dog a chance to touch her.

Jian Ruo Ci looked past Jian Xu and secretly glanced at Pei Yan Zhou. Their eyes met, and she nervously looked away. Jian Xu saw it.

Jian Xu: “Jian Ruo Ci, do you have a masochistic tendency? You just got dumped, and now you’re smitten with another man?”

“How do you talk?” Jian Ruo Ci twisted his waist hard. “Don’t meddle in adults’ affairs. I’m warning you for the last time. If you’re disrespectful again, I won’t spare you.”

Threatened by Jian Ruo Ci, Jian Xu obediently shut his mouth and didn’t say anything else. But he still looked at Pei Yan Zhou with hostility.

Jian Ruo Ci apologized to Pei Yan Zhou. “Sorry, he doesn’t mean any harm. I’ll definitely give him a good scolding later.”

Jian Xu couldn’t help but say, “I don’t mean any harm. I just don’t want to see him with you.”

“Shut up!” Jian Ruo Ci glared at him. Jian Xu obediently kept quiet.

Jian Ruo Ci said awkwardly, “Pei Yan Zhou, I’m sorry. I’ve spoiled him too much.”

“It’s okay.” Pei Yan Zhou didn’t mind. “He’s as interesting as you.”

He saw the ten-year-old boy protecting his sister, his eyes fierce. All these years, she had been his salvation, and he had been hers in return. He was the driving force behind this silly girl’s perseverance.

The principal stood aside, not daring to breathe. He decided to just let things happen. He didn’t want to be the principal anymore. Being caught in the middle was a pain.

Maybe one day, he would handle things improperly and offend these big shots. Then, Beijing wouldn’t have a place for him.

He looked at the mother and son on the ground. Yu Tian was on the phone. He shook his head. The Yang family was going to be ruined by this woman who didn’t know when to stop.

At first, he wanted Jian Xu to apologize to Yang Rui so that the matter could be settled quickly. But when he saw Jian Xu’s sister being close to Pei Yan Zhou, he realized that the moment he asked Jian Xu to apologize, he had offended Pei Yan Zhou as well.

Ten minutes later, a man in a suit, about forty years old, rushed over. He looked at his son, who was lying on the ground with a bruised and swollen nose. Yang Qin’s eyes were filled with anger. “Who did this?”

Yu Tian cried out, pointing at the three people on the sofa. “It was them. Yang Qin, you never care about me, but you can’t ignore your son. You have to make them pay.”

The principal decided to just give up. He sat on the chair behind his desk, crossed his legs, and looked like he was enjoying the show.

Yang Qin followed Yu Tian’s finger and looked over. He was about to lash out, but he froze when he saw Pei Yan Zhou. “Mr. Pei, what are you… doing here?”

Yu Tian stood up and angrily pointed at Pei Yan Zhou. “Yang Qin, it was him. He threatened me and said he would make our son drop out of school.”

“Who does he think he is? What does he think he is?”

“Shut up!” Yang Qin roared.

The principal took out a handful of sunflower seeds from somewhere and leisurely munched on them. Anyway, he was going to say goodbye to this school and this office soon. He didn’t care anymore. He would just watch the show. Yu Tian had been giving him trouble and squeezing him all the time.

Her son had been fighting with people all over the school. He knew Jian Xu was right. Because of Yu Tian’s arrogance and domineering attitude, he had still asked Jian Xu to apologize to Yang Rui.

Now, karma had come back to bite her.

Yang Qin walked up to Pei Yan Zhou and smiled obsequiously. “Mr. Pei, are you here for something?”

He had a bad feeling about this.

“Hmm.” Pei Yan Zhou’s brow furrowed with detachment. “Supporting family members.”

Yu Tian wouldn’t let up. She supported Yang Rui and stood opposite Pei Yan Zhou, scolding him. “Yang Qin, are you even a man!”

Yang Qin glared at her and motioned for her to shut up. Then, he lowered his head and apologized to Pei Yan Zhou with a servile smile. “Mr. Pei, it’s all a misunderstanding. I apologize on her behalf.”

Pei Yan Zhou’s eyes were as black as ink, staring at him intently. “Mr. Yang, I’m afraid the cooperation we discussed a few days ago won’t be happening.”

Yang Qin was dumbfounded. “Mr. Pei, I’m so sorry. Give Yang Corporation a chance…”

“Yang Qin, are you even a man?” Yu Tian scolded.

Yang Qin was fed up with her. She had ruined his good mood. He turned around and slapped her across the face. The sound of the slap echoed through the office. He roared, “Yu Tian, enough! You only know how to shop, buy limited edition clothes and bags. If you just looked at the news once, you would know who this person is.”

“Are you going to let the entire Yang family be buried by your hands?”

“He’s the CEO of Jingche Entertainment Group, Mr. Pei.”
