Chapter 1: A Little Too Much Fun on the Wedding Night
“Help me~” Yan Xiaoyue opened her eyes, and through the dim light, saw the handsome man before her.
She reached out her hand before realizing that her limbs, which had been flung about in the accident, were still intact.
It had all started when she was helping an old lady cross the road. The old lady, however, was unreasonable, insisting on giving her a silver bracelet in the middle of the road. It was a terrifying situation; she dared not accept it, and before she knew it, she was hit by a passing car.
“Yan Xiaoyue, you swapped brides on the spot and married me on the day Jin Qingyang died. What’s the meaning of this?” Jin Chao looked at the woman, stripped bare and lying on the bed, her face flushed crimson, and felt a wave of disgust.
She was so shameless.
Yan Xiaoyue hazily watched the man’s mouth open and close, his thick lips looking sensual. She wanted to taste them, and without further thought, she did.
“Yan Xiaoyue, have you no shame? Let go of me, or I’ll kill you.” Jin Chao had never seen a woman so proactive before. He couldn’t even resist.
“Shh~ Little brother, big sister will take good care of you.” Yan Xiaoyue climbed on top of him, leaning down to bite his neck.
“You…” A sharp pain in his neck rendered him unconscious.
Jin Chao’s hands clamped tightly around Yan Xiaoyue’s slender neck, as if a little more force would snap it.
“Cough… cough…” In her sleep, Yan Xiaoyue seemed to see the woman from the book who shared her name, questioning Jin Qingyang tearfully and hysterically, asking why he abandoned her.
Then she saw her causing a commotion to marry Jin Qingyang’s uncle, claiming she was the main villain.
She gasped, struggling to breathe.
She remembered. This was her most hated book, without a doubt.
The heroine was her cousin, Yan Zhitao, beautiful, kind, and the first woman in their village to get into university – a prestigious university in Kyoto. One evening, after tutoring students late, she was harassed by thugs.
She was saved by the male lead, Jin Qingyang, who had run away from his own wedding. He then took the identity of his unfortunate uncle, Jin Chao, and returned to his ancestral home in Kyoto.
In the Jin family in Beijing, he endured hardship and humiliation. The moment he saw Yan Zhitao, she was like a little sun, illuminating his dark heart.
Yan Zhitao became Jin Qingyang’s salvation; the story of the Cinderella and the fake rich second generation began.
Heh, how touching!
When the original owner learned this, she was ecstatic. She went to the university to find Jin Qingyang, only to be met with a bucket of cold water, leading her to commit suicide by jumping into a river.
This time, marrying Jin Chao was the original owner’s rebirth. She had inadvertently learned that the person the Jin family intended for her to marry was actually Jin Chao, the biggest boss in the book. Reborn on her wedding day, her first act was to cause a commotion to change grooms. Elder Yan saved Elder Jin, and the Jin family, unable to refuse, agreed to this absurd request.
Jin Qingyang still took that step – faking his death.
Yan Xiaoyue, on her wedding night, drugged Jin Chao, but she herself overdosed and died!
Then she arrived.
“Damn it, you lowly thing! You dare marry into the Jin family? You should have just banged your head and died! You cursed my son! I’ll kill you!” A woman’s angry shouts came from the doorway, the door creaking loudly.
Yan Xiaoyue, lying in bed, was disturbed by the noise and opened her eyes. The surroundings, with their green tiles and gray bricks, were much better than her previous home.
She raised her arm, rubbed her eyes, and touched something cold and smooth. Looking closely, it was the silver bracelet.
“You bitch, open the door! If I don’t hack you to pieces today, I’ll change my name!”
Before she could examine it further, the furious shouts of Jin Qingyang’s mother, Qi Lan, came from outside.
Yan Xiaoyue looked at the rickety door, decided to take action, and quickly slipped to the side as the woman outside paused.
“Yan Xiaoyue, you bitch… ouch!” Qi Lan stumbled, her face contorted in pain.
“Oh, sister-in-law is so energetic! I wonder if Jin Qingyang, knowing this, would be filial to you. Maybe he’s already reincarnated, with rich parents, and wouldn’t recognize a poor mother like you?” Yan Xiaoyue said, observing Qi Lan’s expression. Sure enough, Qi Lan’s mouth twitched, looking unconvinced, and stood up.
“Even if my son reincarnated with rich parents, he would still recognize his mother! You vile woman! My son is dead, and you’re still spreading rumors about him! I’ll chop you up!” Qi Lan raised the axe she was carrying, about to swing it down.
Yan Xiaoyue didn’t move, a smile playing on her lips. “Sister-in-law, think carefully. If something happens to me, you’ll go to jail, and all that wealth and luxury will have nothing to do with you.”
She didn’t believe Qi Lan would give up the wealth and glory Jin Qingyang would bring her. After all, she remembered that in the book, the Jin family, including Qi Lan and her daughter, became the richest people in Fuyang City with Jin Qingyang’s help.
“Yan Xiaoyue, you’re talking nonsense! Don’t think I dare not chop you up!” Qi Lan’s eyes flickered, the axe raised again, but she hesitated to bring it down.
“Sister-in-law, since you’re afraid, I won’t be polite.” Yan Xiaoyue snatched the axe and swung it towards Qi Lan.
Qi Lan dodged in fright, falling to the ground. Seeing the large hole in the ground in front of her, her heart pounded wildly.
She scrambled to her feet. “Help! My brother’s new wife is trying to kill me!”
Yan Xiaoyue blinked, casually throwing away the axe and clapping her hands. She hadn’t even started her verbal attack, and her sister-in-law couldn’t take it anymore. It wasn’t fun at all.
“Did you try to kill her?” Jin Chao’s voice came from behind, startling her.
Looking into his deep eyes, filled with inquiry, she twitched her lips. “Of course not. She and I have no grievances, why would I kill her? I was just playing around with her.”
“Third brother, you should control your wife. She…” Qi Lan entered with a group of people, pointing at Yan Xiaoyue. “She tried to kill me! She tried to chop me with an axe! Look at this ground! If I hadn’t run fast, I’d be lying there!”
“Sister-in-law, what are you saying? Didn’t you come banging on the door? You know, on our wedding night, we were a little… enthusiastic, so we didn’t wake up that early. But you’re a little too overbearing! Coming here so early in the morning with an axe to chop at my door! Look at my door, is there any good part left?”
Yan Xiaoyue stepped aside, revealing the axe marks on the already weak door.
The crowd looked at Qi Lan with some uncertainty. Why would a sister-in-law chop at someone’s door the day after her brother-in-law’s wedding?
“No, it was you! You cursed my son!” Qi Lan hurriedly explained her reason for coming to find Yan Xiaoyue.
“Sister-in-law, you’re joking. I married first, so if anyone is cursed, it’s my husband, not your son. Let the aunties and sisters here judge. My husband is alive and well. Don’t just throw dirty water on me.” Yan Xiaoyue pulled Jin Chao to the side, showing everyone that her husband was alive and well.
