Secretly Like You for Many Years Chapter 11

Chapter 11: Living but Penniless

Wen Nian had just wanted to argue when she spotted Jiang You in Fu Jin’s arms. Ignoring everything else, she rushed over.

“You You, what’s wrong? Did someone hit you? Huh? What happened?”

Fu Jin’s expression was calm, but his gaze was icy: “Is this someone you know?”

Wen Nian felt a surge of fear but had to respond, “Y-yes… it’s me, but I was just so… curious…”

If looks could kill, she felt like she’d already been pierced through.

Fu Jin turned to Tang Yu: “What is his identity?”

Tang Yu had been watching the scene with great interest. After all, Fu Jin usually cherished this niece of his; he would want the moon and not even share a star with anyone else.

Now, however, for another little girl, he’d nearly want to hang his niece out to dry—wasn’t that amusing?

Upon hearing Fu Jin’s question, Tang Yu’s expression shifted in a split second, and he replied earnestly, “The second son of Bai Er Ye, the one outside.”

The Bai family was also a prestigious family in Bei City. Fu, Bai, Shang, and Gu were known as the four major families, but now, the Bai family had shown signs of decline, and the other two families were mere memories.

Currently, the spokesperson for the Bai family was Old Master Bai, who was of the same generation as Fu Qihai. Bai Er Ye was Old Master Bai’s younger brother, and Bai Hao was the child of a mistress he had raised outside.

Everyone in Bei City knew that Bai Er Ye was a good-for-nothing, a gambler with a penchant for drinking. Now he relied on the family businesses to live, being just another second-generation heir in his fifties, and it turned out his son had the same temperament as him.

Upon hearing this, Fu Jin frowned, as if he had just encountered something dirty.

“This incident happened in your venue.”

Fu Jin’s words were light yet made Tang Yu feel a chill down his spine.

“Don’t worry, Jin Ge, I will definitely make it satisfactory; I won’t let him off easily.”

Fu Jin’s eyes swept over Wen Nian again. Wen Nian’s body stiffened, showing a smile that was uglier than crying.

“Uncle, I didn’t mean to; I just… I didn’t expect this to happen…”

Fu Jin interrupted her, “Get someone to send her back.”

This was directed at Tang Yu.

After saying that, Fu Jin picked up Jiang You and pressed her face against his chest as he walked straight out of the venue.

Seeing her uncle leave, Wen Nian was almost stomping her feet in distress.

“What should I do? Uncle is definitely going to come looking for trouble with me! I’m done for, I’m done for!”

Tang Yu curiously asked, “Who is this girl?”

Wen Nian pouted, “My sister.”

She indeed considered Jiang You as her sister.

Tang Yu: Sister? So she’s also Fu Jin’s niece?

What the hell!

Fu Jin, you pervert! How could you play it this way! I’ve misjudged you!

At that moment, several bodyguards dragged a bloodied body out of the restroom, one of whom stepped forward.

“Yu Ge, he still has a breath left.”

Bai Hao looked far from human—if it weren’t for the clothes, one might not even recognize him as a person.

Wen Nian shot a disdainful glance and turned to Tang Yu, “What happened to him?”

Tang Yu replied, “He bullied your sister.”

“What?”

Shock hit her like a thunderbolt!

Wen Nian clearly didn’t expect that someone would dare to lay hands on a girl in public, and upon realizing it was Jiang You, her blood boiled.

He actually bullied her sister?

No wonder Uncle was so angry; it was all because of this scum!

Wen Nian was filled with anger and, raising her heel, kicked Bai Hao’s shins, instantly making a hole in his leg.

“You perverted jerk! You bullied my sister! I’ll kick you to death! Kick you to death!”

Poor Bai Hao was already numb from the pain, lacking the strength to scream, only able to whimper weakly.

Tang Yu couldn’t help but chuckle as he hugged Wen Nian from behind, “Alright, young lady, don’t hurt your feet anymore. If you keep kicking, he’ll be dead!”

Wen Nian stood nearby, puffed up with anger.

An assistant inquired, “Yu Ge, what should we do now?”

Tang Yu replied, “First, lock him up.”

The assistant hesitated, “But what if the Bai family comes asking?”

Tang Yu shot him a glance: “He was just drinking here; who would know where he went?”

The assistant nodded, “Understood.”

Tang Yu turned to the crowd, “Everyone, keep your mouths shut and don’t let a single word slip. If any guests take pictures tonight, handle it.”

“Yes!” Everyone responded.

Tang Yu glanced at the two security guards nearby, who were trembling in place, waiting for punishment—the same two he had instructed to keep an eye on Jiang You.

“Don’t let me see you again.”

With a single phrase, Tang Yu cut off their escape route.

The two security guards immediately begged for mercy, insisting they were wrong and wouldn’t repeat it.

Tang Yu smiled lightly, “I don’t take care of useless people.”

After saying that, Tang Yu turned his gaze to Wen Nian, “Young lady, let me take you home.”

Wen Nian’s face was ashen as she followed Tang Yu out of the venue.

A pink Rolls Royce was waiting at the entrance. Wen Nian mentioned it briefly, and the driver left first.

Tang Yu received a phone call and walked to a corner to answer. Wen Nian stood by the door, waiting for the Tang family’s driver to bring the car over, thinking about how to handle her enraged Uncle and how to apologize to Jiang You.

“Wen Nian—”

Just as she was considering how to admit her mistakes to Fu Jin, a familiar male voice came from behind.

It was Xu Chaoyang.

He had come to meet a client with the vice president that night at the venue, and since they were on the eighth floor, he was unaware of the happenings in the bar. When he came out, hearing about a fight, he curiously took a glance.

To his surprise, he spotted the man who had taken Jiang You home the previous night, leaving the bar while holding a girl.

That girl looked somewhat like Jiang You, but it was night, and the man was surrounded by bodyguards, so he couldn’t see clearly.

Just as he was about to drive away, he saw Wen Nian.

Wen Nian forced a smile upon seeing someone she knew, “Brother Chaoyang, you’re here too?”

Xu Chaoyang replied, “I came to meet a client; I think I just saw Jiang You being taken away by a man, but I’m not sure if I saw it correctly.”

“Oh, it’s nothing; that’s my uncle.”

“Your uncle?”

“Yes! It’s Fu—!”

“Cough cough cough—”

A man’s cough interrupted Wen Nian midway.

Tang Yu walked over, nodded to Xu Chaoyang, and said, “Jiang You is fine, don’t worry; she’s one of ours.”

Xu Chaoyang had never met Tang Yu, but he could sense he held an extraordinary status and didn’t ask further. He greeted Wen Nian and left.

In the car, Xu Chaoyang recalled what Wen Nian had said. Although she hadn’t finished, he had still caught a hint of that word—Fu.

With the surname Fu and this kind of situation, it must be—

Fu Jin?

At the entrance of the venue, Tang Yu glanced at Wen Nian, “Young lady, what nonsense are you saying to outsiders?”

Wen Nian replied, “Brother Chaoyang isn’t an outsider; he’s Jiang You’s idol.”

Idol?

Tang Yu raised an eyebrow and asked, “When did you get a sister? I haven’t heard about it!”

He had always known Wen Nian was an only child.

Wen Nian replied, “Just because I call her sister doesn’t mean she’s really my sister!”

Tang Yu asked, “What do you mean?”

Wen Nian rolled her eyes at him, “She’s my best friend; we’re as close as sisters!”

Tang Yu suddenly understood; so that was their relationship!

It turned out to be unrelated to Fu Jin. For a moment, Tang Yu couldn’t decide whether to feel disappointed or happy.

It was as if one were alive but without money.
