Secretly Like You for Many Years Chapter 13

Chapter 13: He Gives Everything to Others

Fu Jin’s pajamas were dark blue, long-sleeved and full-length pants. He was tall, and the top hung down to Jiang You’s thighs, but she wasn’t wearing pants.

The girl’s hair was only half-dried, with the tips still a little damp, hanging lazily.

Perhaps the alcohol was still affecting her; her face was flushed with a lingering, dreamy kind of beauty.

Beneath the wide hem of the pajamas were two straight, pale, slender legs.

Seeing this, Fu Jin instinctively looked away.

Jiang You was dizzy and blurry, unsure if it was her imagination, but she thought she saw the man’s Adam’s apple move.

With a bit of drunkenness, Jiang You awkwardly tried to cover it up: “Your pants are too long, so I didn’t wear any.”

Fu Jin sat at the dining table, not looking at her: “Mm, come eat.”

Jiang You took slow steps, her movements sluggish. She walked up to Fu Jin’s side, gritted her teeth, and kicked the corner of the table with her right foot.

“Ah—”

She cried out, her body going limp. As expected, the man caught her.

“Did you hurt yourself? Does it hurt? Huh?”

Fu Jin furrowed his brow, his face full of worry and concern.

Jiang You grimaced from the pain, biting her lip and thinking, sometimes you have to go all in to get what you want.

Fu Jin sat her down on the chair and checked her right foot. Her foot was delicate and straight, with her toes pale and round, but the tip of her big toe was bruised and swollen, obviously from the impact.

Jiang You comforted herself: no pain, no gain.

“It hurts so much!”

Fu Jin took out a first aid kit and applied some medicinal alcohol to her injury, gently massaging it.

“You need to be careful in the future. This will only heal slowly.”

“Woo… I was drunk, and I bumped into it.”

Fu Jin smiled faintly, wiped his hands with a disinfectant wipe, and pushed a bowl of something in front of her.

“This is a hangover soup. Drink a little.”

Jiang You sniffed and immediately considered drinking it all, but then reconsidered.

No way, if the alcohol wore off, how could she still flirt with Fu Jin?

What if she failed? At least she could say she was just drunk.

She wrinkled her little face: “It looks gross, I don’t want to drink it.”

Fu Jin coaxed her: “It’ll make you feel better!”

“No!”

Jiang You, emboldened by her “I’m weak, I’m right,” leaned into Fu Jin’s waist and buried her face in his chest.

The unique scent of a man immediately enveloped her, mixed with the cold freshness of winter pine, making her dizzy.

“I don’t want to drink it, you can’t bully me, like that bad guy.”

Fu Jin froze, not moving at all, unsure where to place his hands.

Her soft, delicate body in his arms, her sweet, soft voice in his ear, and the sweet scent of her filling the air.

After a long pause, he sighed: “Fine, if you don’t want to, then you don’t have to drink it.”

Fu Jin pushed her away gently, but she wasn’t happy and burrowed right back into him, raising her drunken face.

“Then will my little uncle feed me the porridge? I feel so weak, I don’t want to move.”

Fu Jin instinctively held his breath. The girl’s face was so close, her warm breath nearly palpable.

The fragrance of fruit, alcohol, and sweetness filled the air.

It was like she was drunk, yet not quite.

“Will you feed me? Please? Please…”

Jiang You wrapped her arms around his waist and refused to let go, repeating her words again and again, which finally broke Fu Jin’s resolve.

“Okay.”

It sounded like he was giving in.

Fu Jin took the bowl of porridge, scooped up a small spoonful, blew on it a few times, and then brought it to her lips.

Jiang You opened her mouth and took the spoonful of porridge.

Ah!

Ah, ah, ah!

Ahhh!

The porridge Fu Jin fed her was so delicious!

He then picked up a shrimp dumpling with his chopsticks and brought it to her mouth. Jiang You stuck out her tongue and gently took the dumpling in, chewing happily.

“It’s so good.” The girl murmured softly, then asked, “Aren’t you eating?”

“I’ve eaten already.”

Fu Jin had ordered food just for her. How thoughtful this man was.

If she didn’t marry Fu Jin in this lifetime, what would be the point?

Jiang You thought about it, her mind wandering, imagining everything from this moment all the way to their wedding day…

Suddenly, the girl raised her small face, and her moist eyes were full of hope.

“Can I sleep with you tonight?”

Fu Jin nearly dropped the bowl he was holding.

“No!”

“Why not?” The girl pouted, constantly shaking his thigh, “It’s my first time here, I’m scared!”

Fu Jin felt a numbness where she was holding him.

“You’ve grown up, how can you sleep with me?”

“But I want to! It’s just sleeping, please don’t refuse, please…”

Jiang You closed her eyes, rubbing her small head against his chest, her little face flushed, murmuring as if she were in a dream.

The girl looked drunk, and the alcohol seemed to have fused with the air, making Fu Jin feel dizzy.

“Yoyo, you’re a girl.”

His voice was still cold.

Jiang You’s heart skipped a beat, and she quickly opened her eyes, only to find that Fu Jin’s brow was furrowed, his lips tightly pressed together, his handsome face full of seriousness.

Could it be that she had crossed a line?

Was he telling her that she couldn’t act shamelessly?

She immediately lowered her head and obediently apologized: “Sorry, it’s my fault, don’t be mad.”

Fu Jin’s heart softened and hardened at the same time, feeling both warm and cold, half scolding and half coaxing.

“I’m not mad, and I’m not blaming you. It’s just that you’ve grown up. You can’t be like when you were little. Understand?”

Jiang You felt her nose turn sour, her eyes starting to tear up.

She had grown up, so this man could no longer treat her the same way as before.

That meant…

What she once had, he would give to someone else in the future.

Fu Jin continued feeding Jiang You, but she no longer clung to him like before. She sat quietly at the table, her little face hanging low, opening her mouth silently to chew and swallow.

The sight made Fu Jin feel reluctant to keep watching.

Even Fu Jin began to question if he had said too much earlier.

After all, she was still a little girl, still drunk and unclear.

After feeding her, Fu Jin carried Jiang You into the bathroom, placed her on the washbasin, and carefully brushed her teeth with a new toothbrush, then carried her to bed and tucked her in.

“Be good, you’re tired today. Sleep well, I’m in the next room. If you need anything, just knock.”

Fu Jin placed a glass of water on the nightstand before turning off the light and leaving the room.

Jiang You pulled the blanket over her face, her eyes brimming with unshed tears.

The next day, Jiang You woke up around noon.

Her first feeling was a headache, followed by confusion.

The memories from last night seemed to belong to a long time ago, but reason told her it had just been yesterday.

She went to the bar, drank, had a bad encounter, Fu Jin saved her, and then she ended up here.

There were countless missed calls and messages on her phone, from Fu Jin, Wen Nian, her mom…

Jiang You replied to them one by one.

First, she texted her mom saying she had dinner with friends last night and forgot to call her. Then she replied to Wen Nian saying she had just woken up.

Finally, she saw Fu Jin’s message— “Call me when you wake up.”

She dialed the number, and the phone was quickly answered, with the man’s deep, gentle voice coming through.

“Are you awake?”
