Chapter 24: The Sea King? Praise?
There’s a lot of gossip, but it lacks substance.
When you look closely, there’s no real content. Even if there is, it’s all outdated—things that should’ve been punished or changed a long time ago, with the rest being “rumors” or “I have a friend who says…”
It starts with a picture, and the rest is all made-up.
There were a few stories that seemed somewhat plausible, but they all pointed to the sins committed by the paternal uncle of Grandpa Tang.
Grandpa Tang had long since split from his younger brother. The Tang family that had risen to prominence today was from Grandpa Tang’s side.
It was just unfortunate that everyone still carried the surname Tang.
In the end, the dirty water was poured on the whole Tang family.
Wen Nian had bought some trolls to help spread the truth, but the impact was minimal.
Soon after, a trending topic titled “Tang Yu Sea King” popped up, complete with pictures of Tang Yu in the arms of beautiful women, living a hedonistic life.
This triggered a strong reaction from feminists.
But there’s no denying the truth of it.
People in the industry all knew about it, and Jiang You had even seen it with her own eyes.
Tang Yu really was struggling, and when it came to relationships, he had issues that made it hard for him to live normally, let alone eat.
That “Jin Ge” voice, calling him, made his hair stand on end.
Fu Jin put down his utensils and wiped his lips with a napkin. “You don’t need to worry about this.”
Tang Yu raised an eyebrow. “So you’re saying I’m just being wronged for nothing?”
The old man had been so furious over this issue that his beard stood up straight. He had just ordered Tang Yu to resolve the matter within a day, or the empire he had worked so hard to build would be in jeopardy.
The old man had only one grandson—Tang Yu—who was the sole heir to the billions of dollars in assets. The responsibility was heavy, and his image couldn’t be tarnished.
Fu Jin said, “The Zhoucheng Resort case is yours now.”
“Really—” Tang Yu’s eyes lit up at the mention of money.
Fu Jin didn’t speak but didn’t deny it either, so Tang Yu quickly waved his hands. “Forget it, forget it. It’s not every day I get to be the scapegoat. I’ll take it.”
Fu Jin added, “I’ll have the Bai family clarify that Bai Hao brought this on himself.”
“Tch, I’m talking about my own reputation!” Tang Yu said shamelessly. “Being called a ‘sea king’ all over the internet—how would you feel if you were in my shoes?”
“Are you sure this is an injustice?” Fu Jin asked in return, pointing to the side. “Its mouth isn’t even as big as yours.”
Tang Yu and Su Rui followed Fu Jin’s gesture and saw the husky, its mouth dripping with drool, waiting to be fed.
That was Tang Yu’s own son, and he said no when asked, yet it still waited for a treat.
Fu Jin flipped open the file in his hand, smiling faintly without speaking.
Tang Yu sat on the sofa, resting his chin on his hand. “But seriously, did you really fall out with the Bai family?”
The Bai family had a lot of assets that the Fu family had invested in, and the two families had always had a cooperative relationship. Now, Fu Jin was openly telling Old Bai that if the Bai family didn’t handle this matter, he would immediately pull out his investments.
Old Bai, though shocked, naturally didn’t dare to ignore it and immediately brought his brother to apologize to Fu Jin.
In the end, it was still about money.
Fu Jin’s thin lips parted lightly. “Do I look like someone who would fall out?”
Tang Yu sneered. “You haven’t fallen out, but this face was salvaged by the Bai family. You’re pushing them to swallow this insult.”
Fu Jin smiled coldly, explaining, “Bai Hao was already useless to the Bai family. Besides, the eldest son has a government official as a son. Now, someone will bear the brunt of the family’s dirty laundry. Old Bai is probably laughing in his sleep.”
In a family like that, who wouldn’t have dirt on them?
