Secretly Like You for Many Years Chapter 25

Chapter 25: Win Him Over Through His Stomach

Old Man Bai’s son, Bai Wenming, works at the city government. His father is a businessman while his son is in administration, which complements each other well. Now that Bai Wenming has a bright future ahead, naturally, he cannot allow people like this to stay at home.

Tang Yu suddenly realized: “So, this is the idea you’ve come up with.”

Fu Jin replied, “I’m simply reminding Old Man Bai to make the most of his resources.”

Tang Yu gritted his teeth; Fu Jin was both sarcastic and ruthless.

“But let me remind you, the Bai family isn’t made up of good people. Although this matter benefits Old Man Bai as well, it still resolves into a conflict.”

All are tigers in the mountains; who likes to be forced into a corner? Especially by a younger generation.

Fu Jin: “Am I afraid?”

Tang Yu paused, tilted his head and smiled; he indeed had no reason to fear.

At that moment, someone knocked on the office door, and the assistant pushed the door open to announce.

“Director Fu, there’s someone outside delivering something. They said their last name is Jiang.”

Fu Jin’s expression shifted slightly: “Is it a man or a woman?”

The assistant replied, “The front desk said it’s a young girl.”

“Quick, bring her in.”

Tang Yu was getting a bit restless on the sofa; he enjoyed seeing Fu Jin lose his composure.

“Why so eager?”

Fu Jin straightened his expression, his voice cold: “You have nothing better to do?”

Tang Yu felt disgruntled; they were essentially showing him the door, but he wasn’t going to leave. How could he miss out on a good show?

Soon enough, there was another knock on the door, and it swung open.

A young girl in a denim dress stood at the door, holding a thermal lunch box. The assistant escorted her in and then closed the door behind him.

The young girl saw Fu Jin first, her smile radiant like the bright sun outside. But the next second, when she noticed Tang Yu sitting on the sofa, her expression shifted from sunny to cloudy faster than flipping a book.

Tang Yu felt displeased: “Hey, what’s wrong? Is it that my uncle looks ugly or what?”

Jiang You thought it was a world for just the two of them and didn’t expect someone else, which made her feel that Tang Yu was especially eye-catching.

“No, I didn’t think there was someone else…” Jiang You forced a smile.

Tang Yu provocatively said, “So, what you mean is that you don’t smile at anyone else besides your Uncle Fu?”

“I…”

Jiang You was at a loss for a rebuttal.

Her change of expression was purely instinctive, yet she felt that there was some truth to his words. She wasn’t someone who would be overly sensitive, but still, she couldn’t help feeling a little flushed.

Fu Jin was the type who protected his own; he couldn’t stand seeing someone bully his people. Seeing the young girl’s face turning redder, he immediately spoke to reprimand Tang Yu.

“Did your mouth grow steel needles?”

Tang Yu noticed the hidden anger in Fu Jin’s eyes and reminded himself to rein it in. He had just secured a project easily and couldn’t afford to offend the money.

Fu Jin walked over to Jiang You and smiled warmly: “What brings you here?”

Jiang You raised the item in her hand: “I brought you lunch!”

Since Uncle Fu and Aunt Fu were not home today, Jiang You felt bored at the villa, so she made this gesture: “I didn’t know you were here; if I did…”

“I got blackened by the Bai family for you, and you can’t even invite me for a meal?”

Jiang You: “…”

It seemed she really should invite him.

Fu Jin showed impatience: “Weren’t we supposed to go to Zhoujiang to check the venue? Why aren’t you leaving yet?”

Tang Yu looked surprised: “Am I making the little girl beg me for food? Why are you so urgent?”

Fu Jin’s face darkened considerably.

Tang Yu was enjoying watching Fu Jin suffer, stubbornly insisting that Jiang You treat him.

Jiang You smiled awkwardly: “Okay, just tell me when you have time!”

Tang Yu raised an eyebrow: “You’ll cook for me?”

Jiang You instinctively glanced at Fu Jin, whose face was serious and his expression displeased.

She remembered the “extreme pushing and pulling” that Wen Nian had taught her last night and suddenly had an idea. She smiled brightly at Tang Yu: “Sure!”

Tang Yu looked smugly at Fu Jin, who shot him a glare that seemed to say, “Hurry up and leave.”

With his goal achieved, Tang Yu stopped talking and cheerfully turned to leave.

Only the two remained in the office. Fu Jin softened his expression, buried himself in his food, and upon taking the first bite of rib, his mood shifted from cloudy to clear.

Jiang You had eaten before coming, so she sat on the sofa, resting her right hand on her chin, gazing eagerly at Fu Jin as he ate.

Liking someone feels like this; whatever they do seems interesting. Of course, it also helps that he was quite handsome.

Fu Jin paused his chopsticks and shot her a meaningful glance: “Do you like watching Uncle Fu eat so much?”

Jiang You thought: Please drop the last two words.

With righteousness, she said: “What else can I do? You’re the only lively person in this room.”

Fu Jin asked with a faint smile: “How’s the competition design draft coming along?”

Jiang You was taken aback; she had only mentioned it once the night Wen Nian confessed and didn’t expect Fu Jin to remember.

At that moment, Jiang You’s mind went blank: “I haven’t had any inspiration yet.”

Fu Jin asked, “What’s the theme?”

Jiang You replied, “Qixi Festival, using flowers to express my feelings.” She pulled a nearby chair and sat down across from him.

“Uncle Fu, can I discuss something with you?”
