Chapter 11: The Moon Represents My Heart
At this moment.
At the entrance of the Tang family’s ancestral home in Jing Hai.
More than twenty people were densely gathered, all direct descendants of the Tang family, making for a grand and imposing scene.
Many passersby were shocked at the sight.
With such an elaborate display from the Tang family, could they be welcoming some high-ranking official?
“Stand up straight and look sharp! That esteemed senior personally called me just now, his disciple will be arriving soon to discuss the wedding arrangements. We must show our sincerity and ensure nothing goes wrong!”
At the forefront stood Tang Shan, the head of the Tang family, his face beaming with excitement and pride.
Just moments ago, Tang Shan had received a call from the legendary grandmaster himself, and he was beyond exhilarated.
The success and prosperity of the Tang family today were entirely thanks to a single piece of advice from that mysterious and wandering grandmaster years ago!
To Tang Shan, that old grandmaster was nothing short of a deity. So when the grandmaster proposed a marriage between his disciple and Tang Shan’s daughter, he had agreed without hesitation.
Now, with the grandmaster’s disciple coming to marry his daughter, Tang Shan considered it the greatest blessing the family had ever received!
“Especially you, Fei Er! If you dare cause any trouble again, I will”
“Alright, alright! I get it! So annoying!”
Tang Fei Er pouted in frustration, her face full of reluctance.
But with over twenty Tang family members staring at her, along with Wang Chen closely guarding her every move, escaping was simply out of the question.
“You little troublemaker…”
Tang Shan shook his head with a helpless smile. Soon, however, he straightened his back with excitement, eagerly scanning his surroundings, he couldn’t wait to meet his future son-in-law.
Behind him, however, the other Tang family members were quietly whispering among themselves.
“Is the patriarch seriously marrying the young lady to that fraud’s disciple?”
“I think he’s lost his mind. That so-called grandmaster just used some petty tricks to fool people. Our Tang family’s success was built by our own efforts, it has nothing to do with that old fraud!”
“Sigh, it’s bad enough that the patriarch was tricked, but now he’s dragging Fei Er into this mess too? That disciple is just a poor nobody with no status or power, how is he worthy of our Fei Er?”
“The Li family’s Second Young Master, the eldest son of the Liu Corporation, and the Sun family’s heir all have their eyes on Fei Er. Any one of them would be a hundred times better than some countryside fortune-teller!”
“It’s embarrassing how our Tang family, after so many years in Jing Hai City, still can’t even secure an invitation to the Hui Yue Group’s anniversary celebration.”
“Should we try persuading the patriarch again? The Chen family’s Young Master has already promised that if we let Fei Er marry him, he will secure us an invitation to Hui Yue Group’s event!”
“That’s the Hui Yue Group’s five-year anniversary celebration! If our Tang family could attend and make connections with high-society elites, we could easily climb to the next level.”
“Sigh, there’s no use talking anymore. The patriarch is too stubborn. He’s throwing away our family’s golden opportunity for success…”
Many members of the Tang family murmured in dissatisfaction, sighing in frustration.
Just then, a middle-aged man, who bore some resemblance to Tang Shan, let out a cold snort and walked toward him with a frown.
“Big Brother, regarding Fei Er’s marriage, I believe the young elites of Jing Hai City are far more suitable. As for that so-called grandmaster’s disciple, he is completely unworthy of Fei Er!”
“In short, I absolutely will not agree to this marriage!”
This man was Tang Shan’s younger brother, Tang Bo.
Tang Shan glanced at him and shook his head without hesitation. “Second Brother, I know what you’re thinking. But Fei Er’s marriage was decided long ago, she must go through with it!”
As the head of the Tang family, how could Tang Shan not understand their concerns?
They simply looked down on the young man because he came from the mountains and lacked power or influence.
But how could they possibly understand the power of the Grandmaster?
In the entire Tang family, only Tang Shan had witnessed the terrifying abilities of the old Grandmaster with his own eyes.
If that was his master, then how bad could his disciple possibly be?
In fact, Tang Shan believed that Tang Fei Er marrying Chen Yang was the Tang family reaching above their station!
He had explained this to his family multiple times.
But they simply refused to believe it and even suspected that Tang Shan had been placed under some kind of spell by the Grandmaster.
Otherwise, how could the ever-shrewd patriarch of the Tang family make such a foolish decision?
“Big Brother, I have always respected and admired you, but in this matter, you are truly being reckless!”
Tang Bo gritted his teeth, looking deeply unwilling.
However, Tang Shan simply waved his hand indifferently, signaling that his decision was final and further discussion was pointless.
Seeing this, the other Tang family members exchanged glances, realizing that persuasion was futile. Their minds began to turn in a different direction.
“It seems there’s no way to change the old man’s mind. Instead of convincing him, why don’t we scare that little fortune-teller when he arrives and make him back out himself?”
“Scare him? How?”
“Isn’t it obvious? A poor kid from the mountains has never seen the luxuries of the city. All we have to do is give him a little taste of intimidation, and he’ll be so terrified he won’t know what to do!”
“Exactly! If the patriarch refuses to call off the wedding, then we’ll just force that country bumpkin to do it himself!”
Meanwhile, Tang Fei Er, the center of all this attention, looked utterly miserable.
Since yesterday, she had tried every trick in the book, every possible scheme to escape. But forget running away, she couldn’t even step outside the Tang family estate!
Just thinking about that shameless guy on the train, especially Chen Yang’s infuriating smirk, made her grind her teeth in frustration.
If that bastard hadn’t meddled in my business, I would’ve successfully escaped by now!
“You damn scoundrel! If I ever see you again, I swear I’ll tear you into pieces!”
Boom!
Suddenly, the roar of a sports car echoed from the street.
A sleek black Aston Martin executed a sharp drift around the corner, its tires screeching against the pavement, sending sparks flying!
The car came to a perfect stop in front of the Tang family.
The door swung open, and out stepped a young man dressed in ripped jeans and limited-edition sneakers.
His slicked-back hair was coated with so much gel it gleamed under the sunlight.
A silver earring glinted on his ear, a pair of stylish black sunglasses rested on his nose, and his designer watch was undoubtedly worth six figures. His entire presence exuded an air of arrogance and extravagance.
“Isn’t that Young Master Chen Rui? Why is he here?”
The Tang family members were stunned, while Tang Bo’s face lit up with joy. He immediately rushed forward to greet him.
“Aiya, Young Master Chen, your esteemed presence brings great honor to our humble Tang family! Please, come inside!”
But Chen Rui completely ignored him.
Instead, he turned back to his car and pulled out a massive bouquet of roses. With a confident flick of his hair, he stepped forward and presented the flowers to Tang Fei Er.
“Roses symbolize eternal love.”
“Ninety-nine roses represent everlasting devotion.”
“You ask me how deep my love is, how much I love you, these roses represent my heart!”
“Fei Er, this bouquet is a testament to my deep and passionate love for you. Please, accept it!”
