Chapter 21: Defying the Ancestors’ Decision
“Young Master Li really spent money!”
“He’s doomed. The Zhang Heavenly Master who has taken money is the truly terrifying Zhang Heavenly Master!”
Everyone in the Tang family looked at Zhang Xuan Zhen, eagerly anticipating his move, hoping to witness his skills.
However, Zhang Xuan Zhen stood there like a wooden statue, motionless, his face as dark as water.
He didn’t speak, just stood there with a gloomy expression.
“Heavenly Master Zhang, why are you still standing there? Hurry up and take action!”
Seeing that he couldn’t command Zhang Xuan Zhen, Li Ang immediately felt embarrassed, which made him extremely unhappy.
“I paid for this!”
But to his surprise, Zhang Xuan Zhen remained completely still.
“Is the money too little? Is he trying to raise the price before taking action?”
Li Ang thought he had figured out Zhang Xuan Zhen’s thoughts and immediately felt enraged. “This untrustworthy bastard is trying to rip me off!”
However, the situation had escalated to this point, if Zhang Xuan Zhen didn’t act, wouldn’t Li Ang lose all his face?
“Heavenly Master Zhang, I’ll add another million on top of the original payment. Just take action now! Once it’s done, the money will be transferred immediately!”
Li Ang spoke angrily. “Isn’t it just about money?”
Unexpectedly, the usually money-hungry Zhang Xuan Zhen did not look pleased at all after hearing this. Instead, his face darkened even further, as if it could drip water.
“Interesting.”
Chen Yang chuckled, turning his head with a grin to look at Zhang Xuan Zhen.
“Xiao Zhang, someone wants to kill me. What do you think should be done about this?”
“I’ll kill you instead!”
Zhang Xuan Zhen finally exploded, completely disregarding his image as a grandmaster and shouting curses.
“Yes! Hurry up and kill him! I’ll transfer the money right away!”
Seeing that Zhang Xuan Zhen was finally about to act, Li Ang laughed triumphantly, hands on his hips.
“I was talking about killing you!”
Zhang Xuan Zhen’s eyebrows shot up, his eyes filled with murderous intent as he glared at Li Ang viciously.
“What did you say?”
Li Ang looked utterly shocked. “But I paid you!”
“Money, money, money, money my ass!”
Since he had already pocketed the money, Zhang Xuan Zhen obviously wasn’t going to give it back.
So now, he made a decision that defied the teachings of his ancestors, he would abandon integrity and take the money without doing the job!
With murderous intent, Zhang Xuan Zhen took slow, menacing steps toward Li Ang.
“You… you…”
Li Ang was so overwhelmed by Zhang Xuan Zhen’s aura that his heart pounded in fear. He quickly backed away, shouting orders at his bodyguards.
“All of you, stop him!”
But these bodyguards had already witnessed Zhang Xuan Zhen’s terrifying strength back at the Taoist temple yesterday…
They had seen with their own eyes how he had casually flicked his horsetail whisk and sent them flying effortlessly.
And now, Li Ang actually wanted them to block him?
The bodyguards swallowed nervously, their hearts filled with dread.
“A bunch of worthless weaklings think they can stop me?”
Zhang Xuan Zhen sneered, then rushed forward like lightning. With a single slap each, he sent all of Li Ang’s bodyguards flying before they could even react. They landed in a chaotic heap on the ground, groaning in pain.
“Hmph!”
Zhang Xuan Zhen suddenly reached out and grabbed Li Ang by the neck, lifting him up effortlessly like a helpless chick.
“You… You… Let me go…”
Li Ang struggled desperately, the suffocating grip making him feel like he was on the verge of death. His face turned bright red.
“Ugh! I paid… you!”
“I spent five million to buy a life, not for you to take mine!”
However, his words were useless.
Zhang Xuan Zhen instinctively turned to look at Chen Yang and asked, “S-Sir… how should I deal with him?”
He almost blurted out “Little Master Uncle” but managed to correct himself just in time.
If he angered his little master uncle, he would be doomed.
The entire scene fell into dead silence.
Everyone in the Tang family instinctively held their breath, their eyes nearly popping out of their sockets.
“What’s going on?”
Zhang Xuan Zhen actually dared to attack Li Ang?
“But Young Master Li paid him!”
Could it be that Chen Yang, this so-called “little fortune-teller,” had paid him even more?
“Paying someone to take me out? You really are something, Little Li… No, I think we should change your name. From now on, let’s call you Little Eunuch Li instead.”
Chen Yang crossed his arms and looked at Li Ang, whose face was now turning a deep purple. Then, he gave Zhang Xuan Zhen a meaningful glance.
“Got it!”
Zhang Xuan Zhen instantly understood.
“Bang!”
He casually tossed Li Ang to the ground. Li Ang rolled several times before stopping, clutching his throat and gasping desperately for air.
After a long while, he finally regained his senses, his expression twisted with hatred.
“Damn you, Chen Yang! I dare you to lay a finger on me!”
“And you, Zhang Xuan Zhen! You took my money, yet you turned against me? How could you do this?”
“Tsk, with that pathetic amount? Not even worth my time.”
“Little Eunuch Li, in your next life, make sure to open your eyes wide. Not everyone is someone you can afford to offend!”
Zhang Xuan Zhen swung his horsetail whisk and struck Li Ang directly.
“Ahhh!”
Li Ang’s pupils shrank to the size of pinpricks as he clutched his injured vital parts, writhing in unbearable pain, rolling back and forth on the ground.
“Huh?”
Zhang Xuan Zhen looked surprised. “I originally planned to leave you with one.”
“But if you only had one to begin with, well… that’s your own problem. Can’t blame me for that.”
Zhang Xuan Zhen spoke with an innocent expression.
“You… You…! My Li family has had only one heir per generation for nine generations!”
Li Ang wailed in agony, his whole body trembling as veins bulged from his skin in pain.
“No worries. Just have your father make another one. If he’s not up to the task, I can help out, just make sure my child is well taken care of.”
Zhang Xuan Zhen smacked his lips and shook his head in mock regret.
“You… You…!”
Li Ang was so enraged that he couldn’t catch his breath. His body suddenly convulsed violently, his eyes rolled back, and foam spewed from his mouth. With a tilt of his neck, he passed out cold.
“Young Master Li! Young Master Li…!”
The bodyguards protecting Li Ang turned pale with fear.
Li Ang’s father, the head of the Li family, was a powerful business tycoon in Jing Hai City, sitting on billions in assets.
If he learned that his son had suffered such a fate, he would erupt in uncontrollable fury!
And as Li Ang’s bodyguards, they would be severely punished for failing to protect him!
“S-Sir… should we finish the job and just get rid of him?”
Zhang Xuan Zhen turned to Chen Yang, as if this kind of thing was routine for him.
Chen Yang shook his head with a smile. “Take it easy. That’s enough. We at Long Hu Mountain believe in winning people over with virtue.”
“Alright, then I’ll spare his miserable life this time.”
Zhang Xuan Zhen nodded, then turned to the terrified bodyguards on the ground and roared menacingly:
“Take this blind fool and get the hell out of here!”
The bodyguards didn’t dare linger a second longer. They scrambled to their feet, hastily dragged the unconscious Li Ang into the car, slammed the accelerator, and sped off, As if the Grim Reaper himself was chasing them, terrified that Zhang Xuan Zhen might come after them.
“This… This… Young Master Li was crippled?”
“It’s over. This is a disaster! The Li family has had only one heir per generation, and Li Ang was born when his father was already old. He spoiled Li Ang beyond belief. Now that Li Ang has been crippled, the entire Jing Hai City might suffer the wrath of the Li family!”
Everyone in the Tang family stood in stunned silence.
Even Chen Rui, who was also a wealthy young master, looked utterly dumbfounded.
Seeing Li Ang’s miserable fate, he instinctively trembled, subconsciously clamping his legs together.
Suddenly, he noticed that Chen Yang’s gaze had turned toward him!
