Chapter 6: A Humiliating Lesson
Jiang Nian walked out of the Qin family’s house. Jiang Qinghe saw her carrying the things she had brought in back out, and he knew the outcome.
He couldn’t stop the disappointment, but his daughter’s heart must be even worse. He could only force a smile and pretend nothing was wrong.
Jiang Nian had been indifferent at first, because being far away or close didn’t make much difference to her. But seeing Jiang Qinghe’s anxiety, she felt a little bit of reluctance in her heart.
If it weren’t for the policy requiring people to go to the countryside, the original owner would have had a loving father and brother, and her stepmother and stepsister weren’t bad either. She should have lived a happy life.
It was a pity, she could only sigh at the fickleness of fate.
Back home, Jiang Nian took out two bottles of health pills from her space and gave them to Jiang Qinghe, telling him to take one a day. Even if he wasn’t sick, it could help maintain his health.
Jiang Qinghe’s love for Jiang Nian was at its peak. Even if she had given him poison, he would have swallowed it without hesitation.
Zhu Xianglan’s eyes were still swollen. They hadn’t gone down in the past two days.
Zhoudie was also watching, feeling uncomfortable.
At this point, she began to feel lost.
She had successfully stayed in the city this time, but her stepfather resented her and her mother. Her biological mother must also blame her. After this incident, she didn’t know if Jiang Nian and Qin Mingyu’s relationship still had a chance.
It seemed like she had benefited herself but ruined the whole family. Even she didn’t know if it was worth it.
But she really didn’t want to go to the countryside again. She didn’t want to repeat her previous life.
And now that it had come to this, there was no turning back.
It seemed like the only thing she could do now was to tell Jiang Nian about her rebirth, so that she could be fully prepared before going to the countryside, unlike her in her previous life.
But she was afraid that if she told her, Jiang Nian would hate her.
She didn’t want to suffer, so she sent her to the countryside. Who could accept such a sister?
While her thoughts were constantly pulling her back and forth, Zhoudie finally made up her mind. She opened Jiang Nian’s door, but she wasn’t in the room.
Countless stars filled the sky, as beautiful as a painting.
Jiang Nian’s agile figure moved through the night. This was the result of her efforts to improve her skills with the help of medicine and her own training. Her martial arts skills had finally recovered somewhat.
The Cheng family’s villa was much more luxurious than the Jiang family’s. It was said that Cheng Yi Rou was an only child and had been pampered since she was young. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be so arrogant and unreasonable.
But there’s a saying: “Children who are not taught by their parents will be taught by society.”
She didn’t have the strength to confront the Cheng family head-on, but she could still give them a little lesson.
This night, though seemingly bright, was actually shrouded in darkness.
The usually vigilant head of the Cheng family was sleeping soundly tonight.
The next morning, Cheng Yi Rou opened her sleepy eyes and felt a slight pain in her scalp.
She reached out with her white, tender hand and touched it. It was smooth.
Her neck felt itchy. She sat up and looked down. She found that her hair was scattered messily on the bed, her scalp was bare, and there were a few cuts on it.
To be honest, this was the first time Jiang Nian had shaved someone’s head in her previous life and this life. She really didn’t have any experience, which caused some accidental injuries. But she really didn’t mean to.
“Ahhhhh…”
A scream of terror echoed through the air, startling the whole family to gather there.
Gossip always spreads quickly.
The Cheng family, a family of three, were all shaved bald. Within a day, it became the biggest news in Su City.
People said that there were spies who had infiltrated and deliberately humiliated them.
But everyone guessed that the Cheng family must have offended some powerful person, which led to this humiliating lesson.
After all, they only had their hair shaved, nothing was lost, and no secrets were leaked. It was clearly a personal grudge.
But at this time, the Qin family, who had always been in cahoots with them, remained silent.
A few hours after Jiang Nian left the Qin family, the Qin family was having dinner. The whole family was chatting and laughing, having a good time.
Suddenly, Mrs. Qin developed aphasia and couldn’t speak a word.
But just a few minutes before that, she was still chatting and laughing, so no one would suspect Jiang Nian, whom she had met.
They went to all the hospitals in Su City, but they couldn’t find the cause or make her speak, leaving them helpless.
If Jiang Nian’s poison could be easily detected, then Poison Doctor Valley would be a sham.
Actually, she was still very merciful. If the other party hadn’t been so rude, she wouldn’t have resorted to this.
But it was only for half a year. After half a year, when the toxins in Mrs. Qin’s body were eliminated, her aphasia would naturally heal.
Zhoudie, who had finally made up her mind to tell Jiang Nian about her rebirth that day, never saw her again and became like a deflated balloon, unable to muster the courage again.
Of course, whether she told her or not didn’t matter much to Jiang Nian.
She believed that with her abilities, she could live well wherever she went.
Time flew by, and the day to leave arrived.
From the moment they left the house, Jiang Qinghe kept reminding Jiang Nian, “This aluminum lunchbox has rice and meat. She said the weather is too hot and it won’t last long, so she only prepared one meal for you. There are pancakes in your satchel. They’re too hard, so soak them in water before eating. There are also biscuits in there. If you can buy hot food on the train, buy some. Keep your money and tickets safe and don’t lose them. Dad will send you money and tickets every month. Don’t be too frugal. When you get to the countryside, take good care of yourself. Be careful when interacting with others. If someone bullies you, just endure it for now. You’re small and weak, you can’t fight them and you’ll definitely lose. Call home and Dad will take your brother to get revenge for you…”
Jiang Nian always thought she was cold and heartless, but now she couldn’t help but feel a little choked up.
The original owner really had a good father, but he had raised his daughter to be too weak.
They both lost their mothers at a young age, but she didn’t have such good luck.
Her father in her previous life had extremely high expectations for her. He was ruthless, she would get beaten for doing something wrong, and she would get beaten for not meeting his expectations. He had been training her since she was young, throwing her into difficult environments to fend for herself. How many times had she been tortured to the point of death, only to be saved by a breath of life?
Fortunately, he was a master of medicine, and as long as she had a breath, he could save her.
But after she turned sixteen, her father ran away, leaving her with a room full of medical books. He never came back.
This led her to believe that she was not loved, so she was extremely lacking in love. When a smooth-talking guy said a few nice words, she was tricked out of the valley.
Later, she found out that he was already married, and they broke up. He brought people to besiege her, calling her a demon.
Until she died, she didn’t know if he was still alive. If he was still alive, would he know about her death and avenge her?
Jiang Qinghe, who had already prepared many things for his daughter, felt like it wasn’t enough. He prepared even more in the past few days, food, drinks, and necessities, all packed together in two large sacks, which looked scary.
His father’s enthusiasm made it impossible for Jiang Nian to refuse.
Of course, for now, this enthusiasm was temporarily placed on his own shoulders and Jiang Wan Zhou’s.
“Dad, are you sure you want to bring so much stuff for my sister?” Jiang Wan Zhou was carrying the heaviest bag, and his shoulders were bent. “We can help share the load on the way there, but after we get off the train, it’s all on my sister. What if the place she’s going to is far from the train station? How will she get all this stuff back by herself?”
