Chapter 30: Zhao Lao San Is Done For
Zhao Pozi was so startled that she forgot to speak.
“Don’t talk bad about Qiaoqiao anymore.” He looked at her with dark eyes.
It was pitch black, and she couldn’t see his face clearly, but Zhao Pozi could sense a chilling aura from those eyes.
It sent a shiver down her spine.
Zhao Sihai didn’t want to talk to her anymore. “I’ll go back and get a flashlight. We’ll go look for him together.”
He said this and closed the door, going back to the house to get a flashlight. As he passed the bathroom, he explained in a low voice before leaving again.
After he left, Bai Ruojiao came out of the bathroom a few minutes later, still damp from the water, wiping her hair with a towel as she entered the house.
Seeing that the kerosene lamp was dim, she used a toothpick to adjust the wick.
She tucked An’an in and went into the villa. After drying her hair, she saw that Zhao Sihai hadn’t come back yet, so she went to the study to pick up a book.
One entire bookshelf in the study was filled with books on machinery and technology.
She knew that Zhao Sihai loved to study machinery.
She didn’t know what he did in the army, only that he was an engineer.
Even in her previous life, she only found out that he had participated in defense-related projects, but she didn’t know the specifics.
But during the time he was back in the countryside, he had brought back a lot of books.
Besides the books he prepared for her college entrance exams, there were all kinds of books related to machinery.
She picked up a book at random and frowned.
Although she had deliberately aged some of the books, it wasn’t easy to take them out openly.
She needed a good excuse. Zhao Sihai wasn’t easy to fool.
As she was thinking, she sensed movement outside.
She put the book back on the shelf and appeared on the bed.
Then she heard soft footsteps.
She knew it was Zhao Sihai. He had taken the lock and locked the door before going out, so only he could open it.
Sure enough, Zhao Sihai gently pushed the door open. He wasn’t surprised to see her awake.
Bai Ruojiao saw that his face wasn’t good. Although she already had a guess, she still asked, “How is it? Did you find him?”
Hearing this, Zhao Sihai’s face became even darker. He waved his hand, “I found him. Let’s not talk about him. Go to sleep. I’m going to take a bath.”
He said this and went to the closet to get his pajamas before going out again.
Bai Ruojiao raised her eyebrows, a slight smile playing on her lips. She lay down and went to sleep.
The next morning, she learned about the situation from Aunt Fang and the others.
It turned out that it had been quite a commotion last night. At least half the village knew about it.
They said that in the middle of the night, Aunt Liu’s family suddenly heard strange noises coming from their pigsty.
Afraid that something was wrong with the pigs, Aunt Liu went out with a kerosene lamp to check.
Then, her screams woke up the neighbors.
They thought a thief had broken in. The men in the families immediately grabbed their tools and ran outside.
This wasn’t like the modern world where people only cared about their own business. They were still quite united, especially in the same village.
There were constant small frictions, but if something bad happened, they would help each other.
But when everyone rushed to Lao Liu’s house, they were stunned.
The scene at that time was truly shocking and bizarre. They didn’t know what to do for a moment.
Zhao Pozi and Zhao Sihai were also looking for people in that area.
They heard the commotion and ran over.
Even in the dark, Zhao Pozi could immediately recognize her precious son, who was going crazy in the pigsty.
She immediately rushed into the pigsty to pull her son out.
But Zhao Lao San, who was still delirious, threw her off, and she fell and hit the wall.
Zhao Sihai could only climb in. Seeing Zhao Lao San struggling, he simply knocked him unconscious with a hand chop.
As a result, when Zhao Pozi saw her son knocked unconscious, she jumped up and hit Zhao Sihai.
Zhao Sihai loosened his grip, and Zhao Lao San fell to the ground, sprawled out on his back.
Because of their commotion, everyone recognized Zhao Lao San.
They all gathered around.
Flashlights and kerosene lamps illuminated the pigsty, making it even brighter.
They could clearly see Zhao Lao San lying unconscious on the ground.
Someone couldn’t hold it back and vomited on the spot.
The village chief and the team leader also rushed over. They were stunned by the scene.
Liu Cui was furious. She had always been at odds with Zhao Pozi, and now she cursed even more fiercely.
Her precious pig, just like that…
Liu Shen’s heart ached.
Zhao Pozi couldn’t just stand there and be scolded, especially with insults directed at her son.
She immediately started arguing with Liu Cui, accusing the Liu family of harming her son.
This angered the entire Liu family. Liu Cui couldn’t take it anymore.
She immediately cried to the village chief and the team leader, saying that she wanted to report Zhao Lao San to the police.
Zhao Pozi couldn’t agree. If her son went to the police station, he would be ruined. She also started crying to the village chief.
The village chief and the team leader were completely overwhelmed.
They had originally hoped that the two families could settle it privately.
After all, such an incident would definitely damage Nanyang Village’s reputation.
The village was hoping to win an advanced rating this year, but now it was all over.
The village chief and the team leader were furious. In the end, they had no choice but to go to the brigade courtyard and ask the brigade leader and the brigade branch secretary to take charge.
Most of the villages in Zhangmu Commune were small.
Nanyang Village only had a population of three or four hundred people.
So, it was combined with several other small villages to form a production brigade.
Nanyang Village was just a production team. Usually, the production team management committee could handle minor matters.
But now that it had escalated to reporting to the police, it had to be handed over to the production brigade management committee.
The production brigade leader of Zhangmu Commune was Cheng Fenshun, the former village chief of the neighboring Qingshan Village, who was later elected as the brigade leader.
The branch secretary was Wang Xingping, a cadre sent down by the commune.
He had even come to Nanyang Village to inspect it during the day and praised the village chief and the team leader, encouraging them to strive for an advanced rating.
Who knew that such an incident would happen at night, and the other party was…
It was unprecedented.
The two of them actually preferred to settle it privately.
After all, it wouldn’t sound good if this got out. They might both be criticized by the commune.
But Liu Cui refused.
Aunt Fang imitated Liu Cui’s words in a high-pitched voice.
“Pigs are also living creatures. It wasn’t easy raising my pig. I spent so much grain and effort. Now it’s like this. My family doesn’t even dare to eat it. Who can I complain to? I don’t care. I’m going to report Zhao Lao San.”
These words spread throughout the village today, causing a lot of laughter.
But because the Liu family insisted on reporting the case, no matter how much Zhao Pozi argued, Zhao Lao San was still tied up and locked up. He was taken to the police station early in the morning.
Zhao Pozi and Zhao Gensheng both went, and Zhao Sihai followed them.
Aunt Fang looked disgusted as she told the story.
“How can there be such people?”
Fang Meizi covered her ears, also looking disgusted and disgusted.
Bai Ruojiao just smiled and didn’t say anything.
At this time, an auntie came over with a policeman in a uniform.
“Bai Zhiqing, a policeman is looking for you.” The auntie shouted, looking at Bai Ruojiao curiously, full of gossip.
