Chapter 64
“Eat quickly.”
Tang Wan took a bite of the egg. It wasn’t as fragrant as a free-range egg. This was from the space mall.
But she had dripped a little spiritual spring water on it. The noodles and soup were so fragrant that it made people hungry.
“Delicious.”
Tang Zhou held his bowl and ate with his mouth full of oil. It had been a long time since he had enjoyed eating white flour noodles so much.
Lu Huaijing even drank every last drop of soup from the bottom of his bowl. Tang Wan felt a little embarrassed.
“Was there not enough?”
It seemed that Lu Huaijing’s training was very intense, and he had a big appetite.
“Enough.”
Lu Huaijing was rarely embarrassed. “Your noodles are too delicious. I don’t want to waste them.”
“I don’t want to waste them either. This soup is so delicious.”
Tang Zhou also drank all the soup from his bowl. Tang Wan, the chef, was naturally very happy.
“Then I’ll make it for you again next time.”
“Okay.”
Lu Huaijing casually washed the bowls with hot water. Tang Zhou helped him.
Seeing how well they worked together, Tang Wan didn’t interrupt them. She went back to her room.
She was really tired last night, so she didn’t rush to work. Instead, she took out the paper and pen she had bought earlier.
She had just bought a few cabinets, and people were already saying she was extravagant. What would happen if she bought better things in the future?
So Tang Wan had a plan. Then she took out the newspaper she had found at the scrap recycling station.
She carefully studied the writing style of this era and listed the things she couldn’t write about.
She was going to use her writing to make money and shut those ignorant women up.
When Lu Huaijing came in from outside, he saw his wife sitting under the kerosene lamp, diligently writing.
“Wife…”
“Hmm?”
Tang Wan raised her eyes slightly and explained, “I have nothing to do at home, so I’m just writing something.”
“Do whatever makes you happy.”
Lu Huaijing’s eyes fell on the delicate handwriting on the paper. He could tell that his wife was very talented.
“Then you keep writing. I’ll go finish digging the rest of the land.”
The sound of Tang Zhou and Lu Huaijing talking came from outside. The two of them worked together and had almost finished clearing all the land in the courtyard that could be cultivated.
Tang Wan had already finished organizing her notes and started writing.
When Lu Huaijing and Tang Zhou finished washing up, Tang Wan had just finished writing an article.
Thinking of last night’s madness, she put away the paper and pen and went to the small partition to wash up, taking her time.
When she came out, Lu Huaijing was sitting on the bed, reading a book by the kerosene lamp.
Perhaps he saw her thoughts. He patted the mattress next to him.
“I was too rough last night. I won’t bother you tonight.”
These words made Tang Wan, whose legs were a little weak, secretly relieved. She playfully glared at him.
“Who told you to act like a dog?”
“It’s my fault. I’ve never experienced such a beautiful thing before. I’m a little greedy and insatiable.”
Lu Huaijing reached out to Tang Wan. She placed her hand on his. His palm wasn’t smooth,
but it gave Tang Wan a strange sense of security.
But thinking of the man’s strength last night, Tang Wan quickly rolled over to the inside and burrowed under the covers.
Then she pretended to yawn. “Hmm, I’m so sleepy.”
“If you’re sleepy, go to sleep early.”
Lu Huaijing blew out the kerosene lamp next to him. Then Tang Wan felt the mattress next to her sink.
He naturally pulled Tang Wan into his arms and said softly,
“Go to sleep.”
“Hmm.”
The familiar scent of his breath reminded Tang Wan of his antics last night. Even her face flushed slightly.
Perhaps she stiffened unnaturally, making Lu Huaijing notice something amiss. He teased her,
“If you can’t sleep, I’ll keep you company and do some fun things?”
“I’m sleepy, I’m sleepy.”
Tang Wan quickly closed her eyes. She had wanted to pretend to be asleep, but her brain was actually tired.
She soon fell into a deep sleep. It was almost instant sleep.
Only Lu Huaijing, a man who had tasted all kinds of pleasures, finally understood what his comrades meant when they said that having a wife and children was a warm and cozy thing.
Unfortunately, this little rascal was sleeping so soundly. He sighed helplessly.
He started reciting the army regulations to suppress the thoughts in his heart.
The next day, Tang Wan woke up, arranged for Tang Zhou’s food and drink at home, and then rode her bicycle to town.
She first went to the post office and sent the article she had written to the address listed in the newspaper. She also bought two sets of stamps.
After putting these things away, Tang Wan went to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy two cans of malt extract and many things that weren’t available in the modern mall.
Thinking about the wild boar meat in her space, Tang Wan was figuring out how to sell it when she saw a lot of people standing in front of the sugar factory across the street.
Her intuition told her that something big was happening. She used her backpack to cover her movements and put the heavy things in her space.
Then she quickly ran towards the sugar factory.
There were many young people gathered at the entrance of the sugar factory. There were men and women. They were crowded in front of the bulletin board.
The red paper didn’t know what was written on it, but everyone looked excited.
Tang Wan, taking advantage of her thin frame, squeezed her way through the crowd. She heard someone excitedly say,
“My aunt’s information was right. The sugar factory’s labor union is really hiring!”
“The labor union positions require a high school diploma. They’re only hiring two people. That’s too hard!”
“Chunli, isn’t your uncle in the factory? You’re practically guaranteed this position. Congratulations in advance.”
“…”
Many people whispered to each other. Tang Wan finally squeezed her way to the bulletin board.
The sugar factory was hiring ten people in total, but only two for the labor union office.
Ordinary workers needed a junior high school diploma, but the labor union positions required a high school diploma.
Thinking of the original owner’s diploma in her space, Tang Wan’s eyes lit up.
There were a lot of people crowded around the registration area. She scanned the requirements again.
Then she took her diploma and rushed over.
The exam didn’t require a household registration booklet or a letter of introduction. These were needed when you got the job.
In this era, you could even sell your job after you got it.
Tang Wan didn’t want to work here, but if she passed the exam, she could make a small fortune. If she didn’t pass, it wouldn’t be a loss.
Thinking this, Tang Wan quickly joined the queue. It took a long time before it was her turn.
The man who was filling out the forms looked up at her. Tang Wan smiled politely.
“Comrade, I just came to the army with my husband. My household registration booklet hasn’t been given to me yet. This is my high school diploma.”
She deliberately mentioned that she was a military wife. Sure enough, the man didn’t ask her about her background when he heard this.
Instead, he took her high school diploma, registered her, and then let her into the exam room.
Many people had come to take the recruitment exam, having heard the news. Tang Wan estimated that there were over a hundred people.
There were twenty or thirty people who wanted to join the labor union. They were all in the same room as Tang Wan. Everyone was nervously looking outside with their pens.
It took a while for everyone to register. A leader came in with the exam papers. To be honest, this was the first time Tang Wan had taken a recruitment exam in this era.
She wasn’t sure what to expect.
However, when she got the exam paper in her hand, Tang Wan felt confident.
It seemed that the labor union was looking for people related to accounting and statistics. There were many accounting questions on the paper.
The original owner had worked as an accountant at the textile factory. So Tang Wan wrote with confidence.
