Chapter 15
Song Chunshi fired ten shots in a row, and except for the first three, the rest were all 10.00.
Even after she returned the particle gun to the instructor and went back to her position, the other students couldn’t regain their composure.
“It can’t be true, how is that possible?” someone muttered.
“Is she really a human and not a machine?”
“Damn, after seeing her, I feel like my hands aren’t hands, they’re hooves.”
“The first time I touched a gun, I almost shot my foot. How can the gap between people be so big!”
One student said, “Where are the people who said she was a savage from a barren planet? Stand up and let me see how civilized you are!”
His companion laughed and said, “You’re not making things difficult for people, are you? Who would admit it at a time like this.”
Although they said that, the students’ gazes all unconsciously went to the few who had been the most vocal earlier, making those people’s faces flush red and white.
Many people simultaneously labeled them as stupid and unworthy of friendship, quickly excluding them from their social circle.
Ordinary students were simply shocked, but a few students who truly understood firearms, along with the instructors, truly understood how terrifying Song Chunshi’s score was.
Hitting 10.00 was difficult, but every instructor at the military academy could do it. What was difficult was hitting 10.00 seven times in a row.
Such a terrifying hit rate and stability, even veteran gunners wouldn’t dare to guarantee it with a straight face.
Moreover, they could tell that she was indeed touching a firearm for the first time, and her posture wasn’t even standard. After only hitting 4.55 with the first shot, she managed to hit 10.00 after only three shots. It was like a miracle, unbelievable.
“Carol, did you bring back a dark horse or a monster?” One instructor joked in extreme surprise.
Carol gave him an elbow, “You’re the old monster.”
He was equally amazed by the girl, but he wasn’t entirely surprised, as if he subconsciously believed that she should be this outstanding.
Another instructor said, “We should send her to the military for training, she would become the best sniper.”
“Don’t even think about it, the kid isn’t even an adult yet.” Carol immediately retorted, “She should decide which path she wants to take in the future, no one has the right to interfere.”
“Listen to that tone, you’re practically her old man.” An instructor teased.
Carol didn’t bother with these insults. He glanced at the freshmen who were still noisy, and was the first to raise his hand to applaud the girl.
The students finally reacted and followed suit, clapping their hands. The applause and cheers came together like a downpour.
Even if some people didn’t think much of it, in this atmosphere, they could only clap along with the crowd.
“My God!” Alan blushed with excitement, shouting at the top of his lungs, “Chunshi, you’re a genius! You’re a genius! I’m going to tell my sister!”
The system was also overjoyed, “Host, good job, open their eyes for these guys!”
Song Chunshi herself was the most calm one. Although she was satisfied with her performance, it was all as expected.
She had practiced archery for many years, and even specially exchanged the martial art “Shadowless Bow” for it. She had a wealth of experience and insights in shooting, and even though the weapon had changed to a particle gun, some of the essential things hadn’t changed. Therefore, she was able to quickly achieve amazing results after a few adjustments.
After that, the instructor didn’t call on any more students to demonstrate. After all, with Song Chunshi going before, no matter how outstanding others were, they couldn’t surpass her.
The morning training ended, Song Chunshi took her lunch and headed towards a quiet place to eat with Alan.
Strangely, students who had never interacted with her before suddenly seemed familiar. All along the way, people kept coming up to greet her, and some even introduced themselves and took the initiative to make friends.
If Song Chunshi’s lesson to Anton Brennan had only made some students take her seriously, today’s display of her abilities had made everyone unable to ignore her.
But Song Chunshi wasn’t used to this kind of enthusiasm. The people who came to greet her, with their colorful hair and equally colorful eyes, made her feel like she had face blindness. Every face seemed to look the same, and she couldn’t remember a single one.
“It’s okay,” Alan comforted her, “When you meet them normally, just nod your head. I’ll give you a hint when necessary.”
Song Chunshi breathed a sigh of relief. It would be a bit rude to ignore people who took the initiative to talk to her, but she really couldn’t distinguish everyone’s faces and names.
Another student stopped by them, smiling and praising, “Very impressive performance, it’s memorable.”
“You’re too kind.” Song Chunshi nodded slightly.
She keenly sensed that many people were secretly watching them while he was talking to her.
After the student left, she turned to Alan and asked, “Is something wrong?”
“He’s Irman Martino.” Alan said.
Hearing this name, Song Chunshi couldn’t remember who he was for a moment. After all, these Western names were a mouthful, too much for her Chinese brain.
Alan had to remind her, “Before, Anton Brennan came to provoke you…”
“Oh~ I remember, I remember.” He was the boss of the lackey Anton Brennan.
Song Chunshi couldn’t help but take another look at him. He was indeed handsome and refined, and he spoke politely and gently. Regardless of what he was like in private, at least he looked like a normal person compared to his lackey.
Alan said, “He took the initiative to talk to you, and he did it in front of so many people. He’ll probably restrain Anton Brennan from bothering you again. Otherwise, everyone will think that the Martino family is all talk and no action.”
If Anton Brennan didn’t listen and insisted on regaining his face, regardless of the truth, people would only think that Irman Martino was incompetent and couldn’t control his subordinates. Such an evaluation would have a negative impact on his future path, and Martino wouldn’t allow that to happen.
Of course, there was a big premise in Alan’s words, which was that there were many people present who were similar in background to Irman Martino, with similar family backgrounds, and were in the same upper class. Therefore, their views—
Their laws and evaluations would be taken seriously.
If it was below their class, it would be a different story. How could those in high places care about the thoughts of ants at their feet?
Song Chunshi didn’t understand these intricacies. She only felt that she would be in school for six years, and having more normal classmates was always better than having more neurotics.
Their lunch today was still star beast meat.
Alan sniffed the smell and said happily, “It’s double-horned star lizard. This kind of star beast is very difficult to catch. The instructor is actually willing to make it for our lunch.”
Song Chunshi took a bite, the dry meat made her frown, “It’s not delicious.”
“Double-horned star lizard can reach an average level of A-class, it’s very effective for mental power growth, Chunshi, you should eat more.” Alan said as he ( means to pick up with chopsticks) some meat from his lunch box and gave it to her.
Song Chunshi pushed it back, “You eat it, I feel like my mental power is enough, I don’t need to supplement it.”
“Oh yeah, your martial arts are so good, you learn firearms so quickly, and you also—”
Seeing that he was about to start praising her again, Song Chunshi quickly changed the subject, “How do you know it’s double-horned star lizard?”
It was already made into a dish, there shouldn’t be any obvious features to recognize it, right?
Alan laughed and said, “I smelled it, double-horned star lizard meat has a special aroma.”
Aroma? Song Chunshi sniffed her nose, she only smelled a mutton-like gamey smell, not fragrant at all.
However, she noticed that Alan’s knowledge seemed a bit too broad. She became a little interested in the family that raised him, and his sister who he always talked about.
“I heard you tell others before that you and your sister are full siblings?”
In the interstellar age, children didn’t need to be born naturally. They only needed to submit an application to the fertility center. With the extended human lifespan and changing concepts, marriage became unstable. Many people chose to remain single for life, or to have multiple marriages with different partners. This led to some common situations.
For example, in some families, several children might share the same mother, but their fathers might be different. Conversely, children might have the same father, but their mothers might be different.
Full siblings became rarer, usually occurring in families with stable marital relationships.
Speaking of his sister, Alan became excited again, “Yeah, we’re siblings, my sister is super awesome too. After the training is over, I’ll introduce you two. She’ll definitely like you!”
Well… introducing them wouldn’t be necessary, Song Chunshi was a little afraid of socializing. There were so many people in school she couldn’t even recognize them all, and now she had to recognize them outside of school? Besides, she remembered that Alan’s sister had a long name, and she couldn’t remember it, she couldn’t remember it at all.
“It just so happens that our family is in the star beast business. If you need star beast meat in the future, just tell me.” Alan patted his chest.
Song Chunshi was curious, “Your family sells star beast meat?”
Alan nodded, “Before, we only bought and sold star beast meat. Later, my sister took over the family business and formed several fleets specifically to hunt star beasts on other planets. Now we’ve expanded some related industries.”
Forming fleets specifically! Hunting star beasts on other planets!
Song Chunshi was instantly moved.
She had also thought about hunting star beasts to make money, but there were no star beasts in the capital star. You had to go to more remote planets to find them. Those places were impossible for her to go alone. Now, the opportunity was right in front of her.
Make money, she had to make money!
She grabbed Alan’s hand, “Please introduce your sister to me.”
The long name wasn’t a problem, she would just memorize it.
Not far away, an instructor noticed the commotion and nudged Carol, “Old man, take a look at your little dark horse.”
Carol turned his head and saw Song Chunshi holding hands with the little fatty.
He immediately became alert. They had been inseparable before, what were they doing now?
The military academy didn’t object to students dating, but it was forbidden under his nose. The girl wasn’t even an adult yet!
He strode over, his tone like a matchmaker breaking up a couple, “Student Alan Garcia, please let go of your hand, don’t cause any bad influence.”
Alan hadn’t recovered from Song Chunshi’s words yet, and now Carol was making him confused.
Didn’t the instructor see? It wasn’t him holding Chunshi’s hand, it was Chunshi holding him tight!
