Chapter 55: Thinking of You
Awakening in the early morning, Ji Shuyi was jolted awake by a sense of heat and embarrassment. The moment she opened her eyes, she heard her own erratic breathing. She stared blankly at the ceiling, eyes unblinking, as if stunned.
After what felt like forever, her soul seemed to return to her body, and she frantically pulled the blanket over herself.
Overwhelmed with shame, she hid under the covers, muttering to herself in a muffled voice:
“Ugh… Ji Shuyi, what’s gotten into you… No, what’s wrong with you? How could you have such a dream?
Wah… So embarrassing.”
Her face flushed crimson, she burrowed deeper into the blanket, almost rolling off the bed.
Finally, unable to breathe, she poked her messy head out, her heart pounding. Biting her finger while resting on the pillow, she couldn’t help but wonder if Jiang Cheng’s body was in good shape.
She even recalled the time in Italy when she had loosened his pajamas and saw the scar on his chest.
Instantly, her bashfulness transformed into a sense of aggrieved pity.
He had suffered so many injuries. Would he have any lasting effects? Like… could he be impotent?
If she married him, wouldn’t she be a widow in all but name?
The young woman pouted, biting her finger, then began to reassure herself.
He seems like he knows what he’s doing, so he probably isn’t impotent, right?
Just as she was feeling uncertain, her phone rang. It was Jiang Cheng calling.
Flustered and guilty, Ji Shuyi quickly answered, hearing the voice that had haunted her dreams all night.
“Little frizzball, what are you up to?”
“Thinking of you (bod…)” Ji Shuyi almost blurted out, stopping herself just in time and covering her mouth in a panic.
She couldn’t let him hear such embarrassing words.
However, the three words she had uttered were enough to make Jiang Cheng ecstatic. He deliberately chuckled and asked:
“What was that you said?”
He simply wanted to hear her say it again.
But Ji Shuyi, having regained her composure, retorted resentfully, “I said you’re not allowed to call me ‘little frizzball’.”
Jiang Cheng smoothly changed his tune, saying with a smile, “Is my darling thinking of me?”
He chuckled. “Then darling should come out. I’m at your door.”
“Huh?” Ji Shuyi sat up abruptly. “What are you doing at my door?”
“…” Jiang Cheng said helplessly, “Didn’t you say yesterday that you wanted to visit my racing team?”
“Oh, that’s right.” Ji Shuyi belatedly remembered and said to him, “Then wait for me. I’ll get up and get ready.”
It was winter break now, and they had agreed to visit his racing team when they parted yesterday.
Ji Shuyi immediately threw back the covers and got out of bed, hearing Jiang Cheng say, “No rush, take your time.”
Hanging up the phone, Ji Shuyi rushed into the bathroom to wash up. By the time she had changed and was ready to leave, an hour had passed.
Ji Shuyi’s heart, which had finally calmed down, felt like her face was burning up again the moment she stepped out the door and saw Jiang Cheng.
Getting into the car, Jiang Cheng noticed Ji Shuyi’s flushed face and awkward demeanor. He asked worriedly:
“Are you feeling unwell?”
He even subconsciously reached out to test her forehead.
Ji Shuyi, feeling guilty, hastily recoiled from his approaching hand, saying, “Don’t touch me.”
Jiang Cheng was taken aback. “What’s wrong? If you’re not feeling well, we don’t have to go.”
“I’m not feeling unwell.” Ji Shuyi turned her head and opened the car window a crack, saying as a cover, “It’s just a little warm since I just came out.”
Jiang Cheng looked at her with concern and said, “Then I’ll turn down the air conditioning.”
Ji Shuyi kept her head turned away, not daring to look at him, and softly replied, “Okay.”
After the car started, Jiang Cheng kept glancing at her worriedly.
Meanwhile, Ji Shuyi, harboring her secret thoughts, was also stealing glances at Jiang Cheng, taking in his entire appearance. However, during one of her furtive glances, she unfortunately met Jiang Cheng’s gaze as he turned to look at her, startling her so much that she quickly turned away to look out the window, using it as a tactical retreat.
Jiang Cheng was speechless.
At that moment, Ji Shuyi, who was looking out the window, felt the car suddenly accelerate and veer off the main road. A few minutes later, with a graceful drift, the car came to a smooth stop on the side of a road with a place to park.
Before Ji Shuyi could say anything, Jiang Cheng reached out and pulled her neck, forcing her to turn her head. He stared into her eyes and asked:
“What’s going on in that little head of yours?”
He raised an eyebrow slightly, his tone domineering. “I’m giving you a chance to tell me voluntarily, or you’ll regret it when I force it out of you.”
The close proximity, the slightly cold tone, and especially the pair of eyes that could intimidate anyone, made Ji Shuyi tremble as she opened her mouth:
“I, I just had a dream, that’s all.”
Jiang Cheng pressed, “What kind of dream?”
“I, I…” Ji Shuyi stammered, feeling anxious and uneasy. She was completely flustered, perhaps wanting to take the opportunity to ask, and hurriedly organized her words, continuing, “I dreamed that we got married, and then, then on our wedding night, you told me that you had been injured too many times in the past, and your body wasn’t well, so, so you couldn’t have a baby with me…”
“Fuck!”
At that moment, Jiang Cheng almost gritted out the words, his face as dark as ink, utterly embarrassed.
He stared at the girl who doubted his manhood for a long moment, then ground out each word:
“So, my darling has been uneasy all this way because she’s worried that I won’t be able to serve you after we’re married?”
Ji Shuyi instantly panicked. “No, no, no…”
However, Jiang Cheng completely ignored her response. He simply pulled out his phone and called Chen Xingyi:
“I’m not going to the club today. Call me if you need anything.”
Without even waiting for Chen Xingyi to speak, he hung up and then released Ji Shuyi, simply saying, “Darling, buckle up.”
Ji Shuyi asked anxiously, “Where, where are we going?”
She received no response from Jiang Cheng, only the sound of the car restarting and the accelerator being pressed hard.
They drove in silence, the only sound being Ji Shuyi’s wildly beating heart.
Twenty minutes later, the car stopped in the front yard of an English-style villa.
Ji Shuyi looked at the villa and asked in surprise, “Where is this?”
Jiang Cheng finally responded, “My house.”
Having spoken, he didn’t care, and directly bent down to carry the person from the passenger seat and walked into the house.
The maids who saw him respectfully greeted him and continued to busy themselves with their work.
Ji Shuyi, being carried upstairs in a koala-like manner, asked in a muffled voice, “Why are we coming to your house?”
Jiang Cheng didn’t say a word again.
Until he carried the person into his room.
Bang—
The door quickly closed, and he directly carried the person against the door and kissed her with arrogance and force.
“Mmm!… Jiang, Jiang Cheng…”
All sounds were instantly drowned out by his kiss.
But this time, his kiss was no longer limited to her lips. Hot breath brushed past her chin and landed on her fair and exquisite neck.
Kissing her inch by inch, obsessively and lingeringly.
Seeming like the dream was replaying, even making one’s heart tremble even more.
“Jiang Cheng~~”
Ji Shuyi tilted her face back and unconsciously uttered his name, pushing him away. “You’re crazy.”
Her voice was filled with panic-stricken tenderness.
Jiang Cheng’s breathing gradually grew heavy and hot. He took off his coat, and when he spoke, his voice was hoarse beyond recognition:
“As a man, it’s my fault for making my darling so uneasy…”
He kissed her lips again, ambiguously seductive, his voice low and husky: “I’ll give you a reassuring pill.”
