Shen Qingli gave her a brief summary of the past few years.
“So, you mean I graduated and married Jiang Huaixu, then we didn’t take precautions, and I accidentally got pregnant and had a child. Then, for some unknown reason, I went crazy, fell in love with someone else, and abandoned my husband, child, and comfortable life to chase after another man like a lovesick puppy?” Xu Chunian couldn’t believe it.
Shen Qingli nodded, “That’s right.”
“Wait a minute.” Xu Chunian rested her head on her hand, “I need a moment.”
After a while, she lifted her head, “So, is this Qin Yuan guy more handsome than Jiang Huaixu?”
Shen Qingli’s expression became a mixture of amusement and exasperation, and she shook her head.
Not for looks? Then for money?
“Is he richer than Jiang Huaixu?”
“Jiang Huaixu is now a rising star in A City’s financial circle, and his net worth is countless times higher than Qin Yuan’s.” Shen Qingli said.
“Does Jiang Huaixu not like me anymore?”
Shen Qingli paused, “Jiang Huaixu’s success is partly for you, to give you a better life.”
Her Husband is handsome, rich, and loves her, so what’s the reason for her change of heart?
“Then what do you think made me change my mind?” Xu Chunian asked with a look of curiosity.
“Maybe, you lost your mind.”
“I think so too.” Xu Chunian agreed, then sighed, “What was the 24-year-old Xu Chunian doing?”
“Ali, I’m sorry.” Her voice was filled with unspoken sadness.
She had imagined losing love, but she hadn’t expected to lose Ali.
Shen Qingli opened her mouth, but ultimately said nothing.
“I really don’t know what I did.”
“Are you really the 18-year-old Xu Chunian?” Shen Qingli couldn’t help but ask.
At first, she had suspected something, but it didn’t seem like an act.
“Really. I opened my eyes and was here. I even thought I was in a novel, but the system didn’t even give me a character sheet.”
Shen Qingli looked at her for a moment, basically confirming that she was the 18-year-old Xu Chunian, while the 24-year-old Xu Chunian only had calculations in her eyes.
“You really did something terrible to me, but the 18-year-old you doesn’t need to apologize to me.”
“Then are you willing to talk to me now?” Xu Chunian looked at her with anticipation.
Shen Qingli awkwardly averted her eyes, “When you were 18, when did I ever not talk to you?”
“Ali~” Xu Chunian stood up and sat next to her, putting her arm around her, “You scared me. I thought we had fallen for the same man and turned against each other.”
Shen Qingli was speechless.
“Grrr.” At that moment, her stomach growled uncooperatively.
“I waited for you for so long today, I’m starving.”
She had come very early in the morning, afraid of missing her, but she ended up waiting until noon.
Shen Qingli coughed to cover her embarrassment, “To apologize, I’ll treat you to dinner.”
“Okay.” Xu Chunian sat up straight, “If you’re willing to treat me to the barbecue place near school, then the 18-year-old Xu Chunian can forgive the 24-year-old Shen Qingli.”
“Forget it.” Shen Qingli rolled her eyes in a very ungraceful manner.
“Hey, hey, hey! How can you treat our strong friendship like this?”
Shen Qingli stood up with her bag, while Xu Chunian clung to her arm. “Isn’t our friendship supposed to be unbreakable?”
Shen Qingli appeared impatient, but the corners of her lips curled up slightly. “You’re so noisy. Were you this noisy when you were 18?”
“Don’t start! You used to be even noisier than I was. In high school, you wrote several reflections because you talked too much.”
“You wrote more than I did in college.” Shen Qingli shot back defiantly.
“Really? Did we have to write reflections in college for talking too much?”
“Of course.”
