Shocking! The Villainous Wife’s Husband Turns Out to Be the Capital’s Young Master Chapter 17

Chapter 17: You Actually Came

The car stopped in front of a villa, and Jin Zhao was led inside by the person beside her.

She hadn’t seen Wei Ting’s mother at the old residence last time; from the old man’s manner, it seemed she had passed away.

Such a pity, especially considering Wei Sheng was still in his prime.

“Could this family be cursed against wives?” Jin Zhao muttered quietly.

The old man lost his wife early, and now Wei Sheng was the same. As Wei Ting’s wife, wasn’t she in danger too?!

She shivered.

The servant opened the study door, saying, “Sir is waiting for you inside.”

Upon entering, Jin Zhao saw a person talking to Wei Sheng. Wei Sheng looked up at her, then waved the person away.

“Sir?” The person hesitated. Earlier, Jin Zhao had been messaging on her phone, and they suspected she was alerting Wei Ting.

“Leave.”

Wei Sheng didn’t take it seriously; he knew his son well. There was no way Wei Ting would come for a woman involved in a marriage alliance; he was probably still buried in work at Wei Corporation. That was his style.

They were not just ordinary father and son; they were rivals. The future of the Wei family was still uncertain.

“Did you call me for something?”

Since their last meeting at the old residence, Jin Zhao hadn’t had a good impression of this man, appearing like a ghost behind her at night.

Talking to his daughter-in-law in the living room during the quiet of night showed he was not a good person.

“Didn’t you say you injured your brain last time? Are you recovered now?” Wei Sheng scrutinized the woman before him.

He had received news that Wei Ting and the current Jin Zhao’s relationship was still average, only slightly improved from before. Some even said Wei Ting had nearly had Cheng Wang eliminate her.

This made him dismiss the idea that the current Jin Zhao had been swapped out by Wei Ting.

“No, the doctor said it’s probably multiple personality disorder.” Jin Zhao spoke nonsense the moment she opened her mouth.

“I heard you did something at Jingda today?” Wei Sheng was somewhat pleased. Even with a mental illness, she still liked that little ant, Lu Sichen. He wondered how Wei Ting would react.

To be simultaneously cuckolded by one person was quite the feat.

“I have a deal for you to consider,” Wei Sheng said slowly. “You help me keep an eye on Wei Ting’s movements, and just tell me how much you want.”

“I can’t keep an eye on him.” Jin Zhao was losing patience. “We don’t meet or talk.”

Wei Sheng wasn’t in a hurry. “Then help me get something from him, and I’ll get Lu Sichen tied up for you. You can deal with him as you wish.”

“My family isn’t a trash can; I won’t just toss anything in.” Jin Zhao played with the tassels on her clothes. “If there’s nothing else, I’m leaving. I have to go to school tomorrow.”

Wei Sheng was slightly surprised. Did this person not like Lu Sichen anymore?

“Not in a hurry, sit and have some tea.” Wei Sheng gestured for the servant to bring tea. The study door remained closed.

Jin Zhao certainly didn’t dare drink his tea; who knew what kind of technology he had.

Time passed second by second, and she sensed something was off.

Wei Sheng clearly wasn’t interested in discussing a partnership; after all, what he was suggesting was impossible for her to do.

If it were the previous foolish Jin Zhao, she might have done something reckless for Lu Sichen, such as sneaking into Wei Ting’s study to steal something or provide information.

But after their last encounter at the old residence, Wei Sheng knew she was no longer foolish.

So why did he still call her over to talk for so long?

“I understand now; you want Wei Ting to doubt me in the future?”

Jin Zhao suddenly looked up, staring intently at Wei Sheng. He truly was an old snake, with a venomous bite.

“What are you talking about?”

Wei Sheng pretended not to understand. Since the old man had ordered Wei Ting to return to Tanyuan, he needed to plant this seed of doubt in Wei Ting’s mind.

He couldn’t kill her; otherwise, the Jin family and the old man would turn against him. Wei Ting wouldn’t stoop to using underhanded tactics.

Keeping her around was smart, for the foolish Jin Zhao was now sharp enough that he didn’t know when she might turn against him.

Day and night, he couldn’t let his guard down, worried that the person beside him might act at any moment.

Jin Zhao came today knowing Wei Sheng couldn’t do anything to her, but she hadn’t expected to be waiting here.

So what was the trust she had built by acting cute and agreeable during this time?

Was it all in vain?

Damn old snake, why was he still alive?

“Alright, I’ll have someone escort you out.” Wei Sheng glanced at the time; it was about time.

From Wei Ting’s perspective, this was a grand finale to a scheming plot. From now on, he would dare not let his guard down.

For others, it might seem trivial, but for someone like Wei Ting, who didn’t trust anyone—especially family—this would truly torment his mind and spirit.

Jin Zhao wanted to take off her high heels and smash them on his head. Just as she was about to rise from her chair, the study door was suddenly kicked open with a loud bang.

The deafening noise shattered the room’s silence, and both she and Wei Sheng turned to the door.

Wei Ting stood there in a black shirt, his collar slightly disheveled, tall and imposing, casting a powerful presence with his lowered brows and narrowed eyes.

His gaze swept over Jin Zhao, who looked relatively safe but with a bewildered expression.

Then he turned to Wei Sheng, who hadn’t yet grasped the situation, his eyes cold enough to kill.

“Wei Ting?” Jin Zhao momentarily forgot to call him husband.

Wei Ting slightly raised his chin, noticing she remained standing still, frowning, “Aren’t you coming out? Do you like it in here?”

Jin Zhao quickly ran on light steps to stand behind Wei Ting, poking her head out to point at the standing Wei Sheng.

“I didn’t approach him first; he brought me here, saying to drink tea.”

“You actually came?” Wei Sheng looked incredulous, pointing at Jin Zhao. “Is it just for her?”

Jin Zhao was very displeased, “We are husband and wife; it’s perfectly normal for him to come looking for me. Stop trying to sow discord.”

Wei Sheng seemed to find something amusing, “Husband and wife? Does he even acknowledge that?”

After saying this, he looked at Wei Ting, his expression derisive. “Or do you think being husband and wife is a solid relationship?”

Jin Zhao looked up at Wei Ting’s expression. He was enveloped in an aura of coldness, his demeanor even more frigid than when he had barged in.

“In this regard, I should still seek guidance from Mr. Wei.”

Wei Ting’s expression was dismissive and indifferent. He slowly walked to the chair where Jin Zhao had just been sitting, picked up the untouched cup of tea, and raised his wrist.

“This tea is yours.”

He poured the tea out onto the carpet beneath his feet, leaving not a single drop. He casually tossed the cup at Wei Sheng’s feet.

“You bastard!” Wei Sheng was furious at his actions.

Jin Zhao stared wide-eyed; she hadn’t expected their relationship to have deteriorated to this extent.

The tea spilled on the ground was a tribute to the dead.

It was poured out by his own son’s hand; no wonder Wei Sheng was so angry. Wei Ting was openly cursing him to death, or perhaps…

Wei Ting believed his father was already dead.

“I think you’ve grown too arrogant!” Wei Sheng strode toward Wei Ting.

Wei Ting coldly stared at him, remaining in place, and the atmosphere became tense as Wei Sheng raised his hand to strike his face.

Wei Ting wouldn’t allow himself to be hit. Just as he was about to seize Wei Sheng’s wrist—

Suddenly, someone bumped into him from the front, a whiff of fragrance, and Jin Zhao appeared in front of him.

She raised her hand first to block, his wrist meeting the incoming slap.
