Shocking! The Villainous Wife’s Husband Turns Out to Be the Capital’s Young Master Chapter 18

Chapter 18: Heartless and Reckless

Everyone was stunned. No one expected the seemingly delicate Jin Zhao to charge forward.

Furthermore, no one dared to interfere in the matters of the Wei father and son.

This was why neither Qin Zhuli nor Wei Sheng’s people had spoken or acted.

Wei Ting was momentarily stunned, his eyes flickering slightly. “What are you doing?”

After blocking the blow, Jin Zhao felt a burning pain in her wrist.  An adult man’s strength was certainly not something she could match.

“It hurts…” Jin Zhao, half-truthfully, buried her face in Wei Ting’s embrace.

Though it hurt, it was a perfect opportunity to make a good impression.  It might not make Wei Ting eternally grateful, but it might make him a little nicer.

Wei Ting put his arm around Jin Zhao’s waist, pulling her closer.

“Is it serious?”

Jin Zhao gently shook her head, already cursing Wei Sheng in her heart a hundred and eighty times.

Their father-son relationship had become this way, it must be Wei Sheng’s fault. She thought he wouldn’t actually hit her in front of so many people, but not only did he hit her, he hit her hard.

Wei Ting clenched his fist, about to retaliate, when Jin Zhao tugged at his clothes, stopping him.

“Can we go back to Tanyuan first?”

Jin Zhao rubbed her wrist. Wei Ting didn’t remove his hand from her waist as he led her out.

“Take care of it,” Wei Ting said to Qin Zhuli as they left.

His gaze fell on the people who had brought Jin Zhao here.

Wei Sheng remained where he was. He hadn’t expected this woman to go to such lengths to gain Wei Ting’s trust. He enjoyed watching this play unfold.

After all, the situation where Wei Ting wanted to get closer but couldn’t help but be suspicious was far more interesting than what he had originally planned.

Tanyuan.

Zhang Sao waited a long time without seeing Jin Zhao return from school. When she heard a noise at the entrance, she saw Wei Ting with his arm around Jin Zhao’s shoulders.

Before she could rejoice, she noticed Jin Zhao’s slightly furrowed brow, looking uneasy. Then she saw her swollen wrist, and a red patch on the back of her hand.

“What happened? Who would dare to hit her?”

Zhang Sao didn’t suspect Wei Ting of doing it. After all, the previous Miss Jin was so arrogant and unreasonable, and Wei Ting simply ignored her.

The current Miss Jin was like a little sunbeam every day. Wei Ting might not say it, but he couldn’t possibly dislike her that much.

Wei Ting led her to the room, instructing Zhang Sao, “Bring the medicine cabinet.”

The door closed, and Wei Ting took the medicine cabinet from Zhang Sao. Turning around, he saw Jin Zhao lightly poking her fingers, her beautiful eyebrows slightly unhappy.

“How many days until the swelling goes down? I have class tomorrow.”

“Take a few days off.”

Jin Zhao shook her head, “No, I’ve finally become a new person, and there are school events and presentations these days. I have to attend.”

Wei Ting put the medicine cabinet on the bedside table, took out the ointment, and looked at Jin Zhao’s still frowning expression. He spoke slowly.

“Why did you block it just now?”

Jin Zhao tilted her head, staring at him, “Huh, don’t you suspect I’m acting? What if it was a play I put on with that old man? Wouldn’t you have fallen for it?”

The person looking for cotton swabs ignored her.

Jin Zhao waited anxiously and quickly explained, tugging at his sleeve, “I was joking. You wouldn’t actually believe it, would you? Then you’d really have fallen for his trick.”

“If I believed it, I wouldn’t have brought you back.”

Wei Ting said calmly. Their height difference was even more obvious in this situation. He dipped a cotton swab in some ointment and looked at the person kneeling on the bed, fidgeting.

“Lift your hand.”

“Can’t you sit down?” Jin Zhao glared at him angrily. She patted the bedsheet, gesturing to Wei Ting. “Just sit down while wearing your coat; we’ll change the sheets anyway.”

Wei Ting sat on the edge of the bed, “Come closer.”

Jin Zhao: …Why can’t he come closer himself? Why does she have to move!

Deadpan man.

Zhang Sao, who was anxiously waiting at the door to see Jin Zhao’s condition: Doesn’t this sound increasingly wrong? What do you mean, sit down while wearing your coat? Isn’t the wound still untreated?

When the ointment was applied to her skin, there was no stinging sensation, only a cool and refreshing feeling. Jin Zhao spoke to herself.

“You’ve already given me so much money, and you came to see me today. If I didn’t block it for you, wouldn’t I owe you another debt?”

She muttered softly, “I don’t like owing favors.”

She was best at owing money.

Besides, she didn’t think he would actually hit her, but it didn’t really matter whether he hit her or not in that situation.

In short, it would be very embarrassing.

“Is that why?” Wei Ting slowly wiped her wrist with a cotton swab.

The room was quiet. Jin Zhao turned her head to scold him, “Also, there were so many people you brought, and Wei Sheng’s people at the door. If you were humiliated, how would you maintain your authority as the boss?”

“And if you hit him openly, Wei Sheng would go out and say you’re unfilial and hit your own father. The public opinion would be terrible. What if Wei Corporation’s stock plummets!”

The assets would shrink!

Jin Zhao’s eyes lit up as she stared at Wei Ting, her voice sweet.

“It’s different for me. People would only say that Miss Jin is the best wife in the world. She loves Mr. Wei so much; he’ll surely compensate her generously!”

“Is that so, husband~”

“Don’t move.”

She suddenly leaned over, and the ointment got on her hair and earlobe.

Wei Ting frowned slightly at the ointment on her earlobe, “It’s on other places.”

Jin Zhao casually said, “Oh, then just wipe it off.”

Wei Ting stared at the milky white ointment, just about to wipe it off, when Jin Zhao was faster, wiping it off with a tissue.

“You’re a neat freak; I remember. I’m thoughtful, right?”

Jin Zhao was tired of sitting, so she took a pillow and lay on her side, dangling her injured hand over the edge of the bed, looking lazy.

“Keep applying it; sitting is too tiring.”

Wei Ting paused slightly. This person was truly carefree.

“But why did you come looking for me today?” Jin Zhao glanced at him.

“Didn’t you want to unsubscribe from my harassing messages? I saw he only brought a few people to get me, so he probably wasn’t planning to do anything, so I went with them.”

I will not be a person until I avenge the TD insult.

“I wouldn’t care if others brought you,” Wei Ting changed cotton swabs and continued applying the ointment. “But he hit you, so I had to.”

“Because I don’t like owing others favors either.”

Jin Zhao didn’t care about what she had done or who she had offended; those were her own actions.

But Wei Sheng was different. He was concerned about Jin Zhao because she was his wife, unrelated to Jin Zhao’s personal grudges.

“Oh, but today he offered me money to keep an eye on you, and I didn’t agree. Then he offered me tea, and I didn’t drink it. Smart, right?”

Jin Zhao said proudly, “I can’t help it; I’m completely devoted to my husband.”

She could still tell who was good, who was rich, and who held the power.

Wei Ting sitting on the bed snorted, deliberately pressing the cotton swab on her face a few times. “Smart?”

“You dare to say that after walking into a tiger’s den? He’ll do anything when cornered. He might go to the Jin family and say you’ve changed drastically and tried to kill yourself. Your family won’t be able to find any evidence.”

“He has no conscience.”

After saying this, Wei Ting realized he had spoken too much. The person lying on the bed with their back to him was completely still.

“Did you hear me?”

He asked.

Jin Zhao still ignored him.

“Are you going to suffocate yourself again?”

Wei Ting touched Jin Zhao’s shoulder, about to turn her over, when he heard her long, slow breaths.

Jin Zhao: zzz…

Wei Ting remembered it was the same in the car last time. He said something, and she fell asleep. He didn’t know if she could really fall asleep or if his words were too hypnotic.

He put away the medicine cabinet and got up to leave, looking back at the unsuspecting person asleep.

“She really is heartless and reckless.”
