Shocking! The Villainous Wife’s Husband Turns Out to Be the Capital’s Young Master Chapter 22

Chapter 22: No Limit

Wei Ting looked at the person leaning closer, turned his face towards the window, and didn’t speak.

Jin Zhao knew how to take advantage of a situation. Even though she knew Wei Ting wouldn’t suddenly fall in love with her—at most, it was compensation for yesterday—she wouldn’t miss this opportunity to tease her cold-faced husband.

“Why aren’t you talking? Did I guess right?”

Wei Ting’s eyes glanced at her hand reaching for his sleeve.

Suddenly, the car braked sharply.

Jin Zhao wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and, due to inertia, her body lurched forward.  Just as she was about to hit the front seat—

Jin Zhao’s body stopped abruptly, her nose making a close encounter with the seat.

She felt as if her fate was being choked.

What did this world want to do to her, this little cutie?

“Sit properly.”

Wei Ting released her collar, explaining in a low voice, “I wanted to give you something to compensate for yesterday. Since you don’t like it, then let’s change it.”

Jin Zhao blinked at him; she should have known that helping him save face would have benefits.

“What will you change it to?”

Starry-eyed—Jin—flatterer—Zhao was back online.

Wei Ting took out a card from the side and handed it to her. “I don’t have time to see what you need. Decide for yourself next time.”

Jin Zhao took the rumored gleaming black card of the domineering CEO, her eyes shining. “This is a black card? Is there a limit?”

Wei Ting looked at her with a speechless expression.

“No, this is my supplementary card; there’s no limit.”

But he would receive notifications from the bank.

Jin Zhao’s eyes, which had almost been filled with disappointment, instantly lit up. Wei Ting’s supplementary card was even better than a black card! She immediately put the card into her bag.

Afraid that Wei Ting would regret it a second later.

Jin Zhao looked at Wei Ting with a face full of affection, her voice sweet and cloying, “Husband, do you know?”

“Say it.”

Wei Ting watched her, wondering what she was up to.

“You are my god! From today on, whoever clips your wings, I will destroy their paradise. Whoever hurts you—”

“Be quiet, or I’ll throw you out of the car.”

Wei Ting rubbed his temples. Such words didn’t sound like those of a normal person. She must learn these from somewhere, and they’re never repetitive.

“Okay.” Jin Zhao made a zipper motion across her mouth.

Her expression was obedient, with a hint of regret.

An almost-thirty-year-old man didn’t understand her abstract expressions, and she didn’t blame him.

The next day, during Wei Corporation’s morning meeting, everyone saw the man at the head of the table’s phone ringing incessantly again.

When the meeting ended, several people looked down at their phones, the company group chat already exploding.

“Is CEO Wei in love? So many messages?”

“Right, only my girlfriend would message me this much.”

“Qin Zhuli, speak up! You must know the truth.”

Qin Zhuli, who had been @ countless times, as the only one who knew about CEO Wei’s secret marriage, replied with a few words in the company group chat.

“Boss’s privacy, no comment.”

He was also curious about what messages Miss Jin had sent in this barrage.

After the events of the past few days, he decided to flatter Miss Jin.

Hoping to get promoted and have a raise like Zhang Sao.

Wei Ting sat in his office, calmly looking at the bank messages constantly popping up on his phone, all transactions from his supplementary card at a certain shopping mall.

He had never known that a woman’s Hermès bag could be more expensive than a car. Interesting.

The fact that Jin Zhao wanted to drive his Phantom was indeed just a small matter, like buying a bag.

Among the numerous transactions of hundreds of thousands, a transaction of only tens of thousands stood out. Wei Ting lowered his eyes, staring at a string of English letters.

“What brand is this?”

Qin Zhuli immediately started searching. “Sir, it’s an Italian brand specializing in men’s clothing and accessories. If you need anything, I can arrange a private customization.”

“No.”

Wei Ting’s eyes flickered.

A few minutes earlier.

Xu Shuli looked at Jin Zhao, who was once again incredibly generous. She was so happy she almost clung to Jin Zhao.

“Since Brother agreed to let me enter the entertainment industry, Grandpa cut off my allowance. I’m living off my savings.”

Jin Zhao comforted her, “Then if there’s anything you want today, I’ll buy it for you. But won’t you get a salary soon after joining the crew? After you become famous, you can treat me to shopping.”

“Thank you!” Xu Shuli looked at the card Jin Zhao used to pay. “Why don’t you buy something for Brother? Otherwise, if he sees us using his supplementary card, he’ll be jealous.”

“No need…” Jin Zhao felt that with Wei Ting’s cautious nature, giving him a gift might be interpreted as an attempt to harm him. “Besides, he doesn’t lack anything.”

After all, people sent him custom-made items to Tanyuan regularly, from head to toe, without exception.

“At least show some effort,” Xu Shuli pulled her into a nearby luxury men’s clothing store.

Jin Zhao couldn’t help but sigh that there were so few men’s accessories. They were either tie clips, watches, or cufflinks, and they all looked similar.

There was no freshness in the designs.

“This one, let me see.”

Jin Zhao pointed at a pair of cufflinks in the display case.

Overall silver-white, with no extra design, only a T-shaped pattern engraved on it. It wasn’t a rigid design style; it had a somewhat flowery feel.

“Miss, this is the designer’s new style this season. You have excellent taste.”

“This one, wrap it up.”

Jin Zhao thought the simple style suited Wei Ting. When she checked out, she hesitated at the price of the cufflinks.

She hadn’t expected men’s accessories to be so much cheaper than women’s.

The pink tax was outrageous!

But Wei Ting’s usual items didn’t seem this cheap. If she gave it to him, he probably wouldn’t like it. She’d just let the servant put it in his room; if he didn’t use it, then so be it.

Jin Zhao casually placed the cufflink box in her bag.

It was late when she returned to Tanyuan after sending Xu Shuli off.

Jin Zhao walked into the inner hall and saw Wei Ting looking at a tablet at the dining table. She casually handed the things she bought to the servant to put away.

“Didn’t I say I wouldn’t be back for dinner? I ate out with Shuli. Were you waiting for me to eat?”

Wei Ting put down his tablet. “I wasn’t waiting for you. I got back late from the company.”

“Okay.” Jin Zhao didn’t expect Wei Ting to wait for her after she said she wouldn’t be back for dinner. “I’m going upstairs. I’m exhausted from shopping with Shuli all day. I’m going to rest.”

Wei Ting looked at her turning to go upstairs and suddenly asked.

“Rest?”

Jin Zhao’s mind was filled with the large bed in her room, and she couldn’t think of anything else. She turned back to Wei Ting, bewildered.

“Can’t I rest? I don’t have work. Or do you need something?”

“No.” Wei Ting looked away and started eating.

Jin Zhao stood in the middle of the stairs, looking at Wei Ting’s back, feeling that he had a strange resentment towards her when he said “no.”

Probably because the chef didn’t cook to his liking. That must be it.

How could it possibly have anything to do with her, this diligent and cute beauty?  Jin Zhao’s steps became lighter as she went upstairs.

“Time for bed!”

Her unusually cheerful tone reached the man at the dining table without a miss.
