Chapter 252.2: (Sarasa’s POV) The Arrival of a New Opportunity in a New Town?! Rise to the Top by Beating Your Rivals!
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
As an award for his contribution in Resta, Keigo was granted the title of a baron. Not only an ennoblement but he was also granted a land and a large sum of money to develop his land, which was located in the Borash Plains.
When I was attending his celebration party, Keigo came to seduce me. Of course, when I said ‘seduce’, he wanted to seduce me as a ‘merchant’, not as a ‘woman’.
He said he wanted me to become the guildmaster of the Commercial Guild in his new town. I thought this was a great opportunity for me as a merchant. In a developed town like Resta, the old timer merchants already had their roots planted deep in the business, making it difficult for a young merchant like me to build up a name for ourselves.
However, in a brand new town, I could have the opportunity to grow big. I was in charge of my family’s store as part of my training in my father’s place, who served as a guildmaster in Resta’s Commercial Guild. But for me right now, becoming the leader of a big company was like a distant dream. Hence why, I thought this was my opportunity. I had to take this chance to improve myself.
I would need to find someone else to manage my family’s store so I could run two businesses at the same time but… Who? Also, taking up on Keigo’s offer meant that I not only had to be responsible for my own store but I also needed to develop the town’s economy as the guildmaster of a commercial guild. What would be the most effective way to utilize the fund that Keigo had received from the king? How should I handle the tax, managing the town, raising funds and all other stuff?
There were so many things I had to think about from now on and my mind immediately went into overdrive even though Keigo was still in front of me.
However, as he watched me succumbing into deep turmoil, Keigo said something surprising. With a mixture of gestures, Keigo announced that he had appointed Iris as the vice guildmaster of the commercial guild.
“Wha-….?! Out of all people it has to be that lecherous, shitty cat merchant?!?!?!!?!”
Fuming with anger, I grabbed Keigo’s coller and shook him vigorously like a ragdoll.
“Wai- Sarasa- I can’t- I can’t breathe-! I’m- Dying-….”
“Oh, sorry.”
Yes. Now that I think about it, Keigo shouldn’t have known who Iris is. That means……
I looked around the party venue.
“You dirty old man!!”
I spotted Alan, my father, who was offering sparkling wine to a beautiful woman while whispering sweet nothing.
“Your eyes are so beautiful.”
Wait… That beautiful woman… Isn’t she the same woman who tried to seduce Keigo a moment ago at the balcony?!
“Dearest mother, what are you going to do about that?”
“Hm? Ah… Same old, same old. I guess I will need to let him catch a glimpse of hell for a bit…”
My mother, bearing a nonchalant face, swiftly crept up behind my father at lightning speed and grabbed his ear. She then dragged him by the ear towards the balcony.
Keigo, who was watching the whole scene unfolding, suddenly turned pale.
Oh my, I wonder why?
Ah, right, right. Back to Iris… My father must’ve recommended Iris to Keigo. I’m sure my father must be the culprit behind this. My father… Why does he always purposely do the things I hate the most?
I voiced my protest to Keigo about Iris.
“Why did you choose Iris?!”
But he just scratched his head awkwardly.
“Well, a healthy competition is crucial for growth so I’m sure everything’s going to be fine.”
Well, he’s not wrong. If that’s the case… I will accept that challenge! Bring it on!
My eyes were blazing in fiery determination.

T/N: Ughhh, I hate it when people still flirt with other people when they’re in a relationship…. 눈‸눈

I hate when people pick a partner known for acting flighty all the time and then expect them to change their behavior. Human habits are not easy to change, so you should know better than getting into a relationship likely to bring trouble. Unless you are desperate enough to disregard all reason.
After the marriage, he thinks she won’t change, and she thinks he will.
Thank you!
