Chapter 264.2 (Juno’s POV) Love’s “Salty Soup”
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
When my friend Keigo became a baron, he appointed me as the commander of his army. The official name of our troop was Baron Wolfszarn’s army. All members of our troop were originally part of the Blue Brigade. Many people still refer to us by our old nickname. The fact that the design of our coat of arms was extremely dominated by the color blue was also a vestige of our old name. Although… The excessively cute design was a bit embarrassing.
Well, if the coat of arms has a cute design but the army is formidably strong, the juxtaposition between it might be frightening in one way or another so I guess it’s fine…
Yes. I don’t think I made any sense either but… Oh well…
And so I had come to Borash Plains, leading 20 men of the baron’s army. Of course the purpose of my arrival here was to build a new town under Keigo’s management. The construction of the new town was progressing smoothly for now.
The soldiers of the baron’s army still retained the remains of their old brigade days, as each of them were still wearing a bracelet made from blue wolf’s skin. When we wore this bracelet, for some reason, the blue wolf would respond to the name we gave them. We were even able to ride the blue wolf. It was as if we gained the ability to tame the blue wolf.
Including my blue wolf, ‘Fang’, we had a total of 21 blue wolves helping us guard the construction site.
Nevertheless, recently, I couldn’t help but to miss Elsa’s ‘Salty Soup’. It was a soup she used to make but since she always added too much salt, the guest at the inn called it ‘Salty Soup’. (Elsa would begin sulking and puffing her cheeks when we said that though.)
Since most of the baron’s army soldiers were regular guests at Elsa’s inn, we all expressed the same sentiment. Our longing for our hometown was the same.
It’s been a while since I last saw Elsa’s face… I miss her… But Elsa needs to work hard to manage the inn at Resta so I can’t tell her I miss her… I can’t be selfish…
We took turns cooking and I tried to recreate Elsa’s recipe but no matter what, I couldn’t recreate the same exact flavor as hers.
“I’m sure the missing component must be ‘love’…”
While holding a ladle in front of the simmering soup, I blurted out something that might become a subject of teasing if my subordinates were to overhear me. I bet they wouldn’t let it go for at least a month.
Here, we were also in the middle of building an inn that Elsa would personally manage. So, I had to endure this longing until the inn was completed.
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
T/N: For the adventurers, Elsa’s inn is already like their home after all.
It’s in human nature to miss their home… (´-ω-`)
