Chapter 13: Shopping Together
At this moment, Peng Wenyu couldn’t be happier—he had practically hit the jackpot!
Nan Feng! The prodigy of the finance department. Ever since he started investing in stocks, he had almost never suffered a loss. He always managed to sell just before a stock plummeted, ensuring steady profits.
Though he had gained some fame in the stock market, his true identity remained undisclosed, so outsiders were clueless. But his close friends knew everything!
Just thinking about it now made Peng Wenyu ecstatic. He could already picture himself counting stacks of cash.
Tickets? Goddesses? Principles? None of that mattered in the face of this opportunity! Though he didn’t understand why Feng wanted to trade tickets with him—and with such a generous offer—who was he to stop him?!!!
*
While watching Yin Siyu’s livestream yesterday, Nan Feng heard her mention Jay Chou’s concert. She even mentioned buying four tickets, which instantly reminded him of Su Shaonian, who had dined with her that day.
Could it be that she had bought a ticket for Su Shaonian too? Was she really going with him?
By the time Nan Feng tried to buy tickets, they were already sold out. Just as he was searching for resale options, someone conveniently came knocking.
Nan Feng took out his phone, dialed a number, and waited for the call to connect. “Hey, Anita, analyze the stock market trends for me. I’m planning to make some moves.”
The person on the other end was British, speaking Mandarin with a noticeable accent. “Vogt, why are you still dabbling in stocks? There’s a whole team here waiting for you to take charge!”
“What’s going on there now?”
“They’ve been arguing nonstop over a project. Your decision is needed,” Anita replied, sounding slightly anxious.
Nan Feng took a sip of water. “Alright, send me the documents. I’ll take a look.”
“Aren’t you coming back to check in person?” Anita sounded puzzled.
“No, I can handle it from here. I’ve been busy with school lately.”
“Fine, but try to make time to return soon. I can’t keep them under control forever.”
Nan Feng gave a noncommittal “Mhm” before hanging up. Standing on the balcony, he let the breeze brush past him, a faint smirk playing on his lips.
If those people wanted to stir up trouble, he’d let them have their fun for now. But once they were under his watch, they wouldn’t get another chance to act up…

The setting sun cast a warm, café-like glow against the walls, exuding a tranquil ambiance. Soft, elegant music played in the background, while the rich aroma of coffee lingered in the air, making it hard to leave.
Near the window sat a graceful young woman with delicate features. She wore a cute cartoon T-shirt and black cropped pants.
Guan Shuang waved toward the café entrance as another girl pushed the door open and walked in.
“Why the sudden urgency to meet?”
Guan Shuang pouted. “I was supposed to go out for dinner and a movie with Tao Qiye, but right before our meeting time, he called saying something came up. So, I had to call you instead.”
Yin Siyu ordered a cup of Blue Mountain coffee and looked at Guan Shuang. “That’s why you dragged me out here?”
“Come on! You don’t have classes this afternoon anyway. What’s the harm in keeping me company? Besides, it’s been ages since we hung out. Lately, every time I try to make plans with Tao Qiye, he’s busy. I just wanted us to relax together!”
“Alright, alright, you always have a point.”
Guan Shuang instantly brightened up upon hearing Yin Siyu’s agreement.
That evening, the two first went shopping at the mall, planning for a big haul since it had been a long time since they’d had so much free time to browse.
Guan Shuang was trying on lipstick shades in front of a mirror. “Siyu, what do you think of this color?”
Yin Siyu glanced up. “Death Barbie Pink. Not bad.”
Guan Shuang tried another. “How about this one then?”
“Boy-slaying Color. That works.”
“Then I’ll take your advice and get these two shades.” Guan Shuang packed them up and paid. “Siyu, aren’t you buying anything?”
Yin Siyu shook her head. “No, I haven’t finished my current makeup yet.”
“True, you only put on makeup for livestreams and rarely wear it otherwise. But honestly, I can barely tell the difference when you do! It’s just a slight change in hairstyle—how do your fans not notice?”
Guan Shuang scrutinized Yin Siyu’s face closely before adding playfully, “Let I, the Imperial Concubine, take a good look at you, you enchanting little minx.”
Yin Siyu matched her playful tone. “Empress Dowager, allow this humble servant to attend to you properly.”
“I, the Imperial Concubine, couldn’t possibly impose.”
“Then perhaps this Empress Dowager should be deposed!”
Guan Shuang: “……I’ll depose you first before that happens……”
After shopping, they found a hotpot restaurant for dinner. Yin Siyu set her bags down and went to the restroom first.
Walking down the dimly lit hallway, where some corners were shrouded in darkness, she faintly overheard a man and woman speaking ahead.
“Will she be upset that you came to see me today?” The couple seemed entangled, and instead of answering, the man responded with actions. Lost in their own world, they didn’t notice anyone passing by.
Realizing what they were doing, Yin Siyu felt awkward and quickly slipped past without making a sound.
By the time she returned from the restroom, the couple was gone. Yin Siyu didn’t linger and went back to their table.
Guan Shuang had already set out the chopsticks. “You’re back—the hotpot’s almost ready. Let’s eat.”
“Mhm.” Yin Siyu picked up her chopsticks with a soft acknowledgment. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of two figures. Wasn’t the girl in red the same one from the hallway earlier? And that guy…?
The couple moved too quickly and soon left the restaurant, so Yin Siyu couldn’t get a clear look. She wasn’t sure if it was him, but she was certain about the girl—her flashy clothes and shoes had stood out vividly in the dark hallway.
Pushing the thought aside, Yin Siyu continued eating. They had ordered mildly spicy broth, as neither of them handled heat well.
“Little Shuang, what did you say Tao Qiye was up to today?” Yin Siyu glanced up, her words slightly muffled as she chewed.
“He said he failed some elective and was cramming to make up for it.”
“Didn’t you go check on him?”
“I offered, but he said I’d just distract him, so I didn’t.” Guan Shuang shrugged, somewhat resigned.
Yin Siyu didn’t press further and changed the subject. They chatted over their meal until, upon returning to campus, they nearly missed the dormitory curfew. The dorm supervisor lectured them, to which they could only nod meekly, not daring to say another word—the dorm had strict rules, after all.
After returning, both of them posted updates simultaneously, sharing a few pictures and liking each other’s posts.
Yin Siyu: Woah! Just witnessed the linguistic skills of a dorm supervisor for the first time—absolutely mind-blowing. TuTu
Guan Shuang: @Yin Siyu, Turns out every dorm supervisor is a hidden gem…
Guess Nan Feng’s true identity, and who exactly did Yin Siyu see?
