Chapter 39 – This Is a Bit Difficult for Me, Fat Tiger
Li Fan was stunned by the wind. Han Xuzhou’s tastes were… quite unique.
She froze for a moment before quickly starting to think.
[Xiao Liu, help me think! Ten grand per compliment—if I don’t make at least a million or two off this big sucker, I’d be letting him down!]
006: [I told you to praise him, can’t you think for yourself? The big villain is full of merits from head to toe!]
Li Fan actually scanned Han Xuzhou from head to toe with her eyes.
[Tsk. I really don’t see any merits. This is kinda difficult for me, Fat Tiger.]
006: [Then repeat after me—“Mr. Han is very handsome.”]
Li Fan: “Mr. Han is very handsome.”
Not only did Han Xuzhou not look pleased, his face turned even darker.
She needed someone to teach her how to compliment him?
006: [Mr. Han has a great body.]
Li Fan: “Mr. Han has a great body…”
[Aren’t you going too far? Complimenting a paralyzed man’s body? Besides, I haven’t touched it—how would I know if it’s good or not? Like Ji Yin Xun’s, that was the real deal. I’ve touched it—solid as a rock!]
Just as Li Fan was reminiscing about Ji Yin Xun’s firm pecs, she heard Han Xuzhou gritting his teeth next to her: “How’s the body?”
Li Fan’s face stiffened. “Well… average?”
Han Xuzhou sneered coldly. “You haven’t touched it—how would you know it’s average?”
Li Fan: “……”
[How is this any different from patting a tiger’s butt?]
“To properly evaluate, you need firsthand experience.”
Before Li Fan could react, her wrist was grabbed, and Han Xuzhou guided her hand straight onto his chest.
At some point, the top two buttons of his shirt had come undone. Li Fan’s palm, soft and warm, pressed directly against his chest without any barrier.
That firm, subtly springy sensation was transmitted clearly through her palm.
Li Fan’s ears turned slightly red, and she quickly withdrew her hand.
Han Xuzhou sneered, “Still think it’s average?”
Li Fan rubbed her palm and glanced down at his abdomen.
“Haven’t touched your abs yet, so can’t give a full review.”
This was a public place. Han Xuzhou had his pride and couldn’t just strip down to let her feel around.
Unbuttoning two buttons was already his limit for this secretly lewd man.
He raised a brow. “Then shall we go back inside and let you take your time feeling it out?”
Li Fan felt a rush of heat in her chest—she was tempted, but in the end, didn’t dare say yes.
Sugar-coated bullets are the most dangerous kind.
“Mr. Han…”
“Hmm?”
Li Fan leaned in slightly. “You’re so flirty.”
Han Xuzhou: “……”
He was becoming increasingly convinced this trip was a mistake.
If he talked to Li Fan any longer, he wasn’t sure he’d make it out alive.
Survived the car accident two years ago, only to get killed by her now.
Li Fan shrank her neck. She’d just had a slip of the tongue—but that was definitely sincere.
“Mr. Han, that’ll be twenty grand.”
Ten grand per compliment—she hadn’t forgotten.
Han Xuzhou squinted at her. “You only complimented me once.”
Li Fan replied weakly, “If you don’t mind, the ‘you’re so flirty’ one can count too…”
Han Xuzhou looked at her coldly. “Do you think I have a good temper?”
“Your temper… good?” Li Fan’s face looked indescribable.
[To be honest, I don’t know where he gets the confidence from. I’ve never seen a man more moody than him in my life. Look, his face just got darker again—and I didn’t even say anything!]
Han Xuzhou’s jaw clenched. He took a deep breath.
“Make it a million total. Two more compliments.”
Li Fan gasped. “That’s too hard… Let me find a magnifying glass first.”
Han Xuzhou sneered, “Your courage is getting bigger.”
Li Fan wasn’t being brave—she just didn’t want to deal with this passive-aggressive man out here any longer.
Luckily, she didn’t have to wait long. Chen Ji returned.
Chen Ji had a relaxed smile at his lips. “Fourth Master, it’s been handled.”
Han Xuzhou glanced at Li Fan. “Go back and rest. Come again tonight.”
“Tonight? Shall I call Mr. Gu for you?”
Han Xuzhou ignored her. Any more conversation and he might actually strangle her.
Survived a car accident only to die of rage now—how tragic.
Li Fan watched Han Xuzhou and Chen Ji leave. Just as she turned to head back to Taoyuan Inn, she saw Liang Kang waving at her from a distance.
[What’s he up to now? Are we even close? He’s about to hit a huge misfortune and he’s still this cheerful.]
006: [Because he just told his livestream viewers that the disabled guy is your husband.]
Li Fan curled her lips. She didn’t have many fans, and even if they knew her husband was disabled, it wouldn’t cause much buzz.
Not everyone would link him to Han Xuzhou anyway.
As she approached the inn entrance, Liang Kang sneered and asked, “Miss Li Fan, everyone’s asking—is your husband really disabled?”
Li Fan nodded calmly. “Didn’t everyone just see him earlier? Yes. Two years ago, he was hit by a speeding drunk truck driver. So yeah, I have a lifetime grudge against drunk drivers who speed. Especially those who hit and run—they deserve the death penalty.”
She locked eyes with Liang Kang, her tone icy—and suddenly, she smiled coldly.
“Don’t you agree, Mr. Liang?”
Liang Kang swallowed hard, a wave of panic rising in his chest.
Li Fan’s gaze felt like it could see straight into someone’s soul.
He didn’t know if it was just his imagination, but it felt like she was implying something.
It’s just… he had hit and run before. More than once.
Liang Kang averted her eyes, reassuring himself again and again that she couldn’t possibly know.
As long as Zhou Xian was around, he had nothing to worry about.
Li Fan’s lips curled into a light smile. “Hot, huh? Your clothes are soaked.”
Liang Kang ignored her sarcasm and went inside.
The moment he sat down, his legs were still trembling.
Unfortunately, there was no chance to speak with Zhou Xian privately. Otherwise, he would’ve asked for an update on “the matter.”
Li Fan had just stepped inside when she saw Zhou Xian speaking with Lin Luqing.
He looked gentle, but his words were sharp—every sentence laced with barbs about Bai Xiaoxian, subtly reminding Lin Luqing of her failed marriage.
Like now, he was saying, “Miss Lin, you probably never imagined your partner would turn out to be that kind of person. These years must’ve been hard on you.”
Lin Luqing’s expression was blank. “I’ve managed.”
006: [Lin Luqing was Zhou Xian’s first love, after all. First loves are the hardest to forget. He thinks if she’s suffering now and sees how successful he is, she’ll regret ever leaving him. Honestly, the breakup hit him too hard—it triggered all his deep insecurities.]
All his achievements in his career still couldn’t erase the shame of that past.
Zhou Xian was like a twisted maniac. The worse Lin Luqing had it, the more satisfied he felt inside.
Li Fan glanced at Lin Luqing with pity. Getting tangled with someone like that—what a tragedy.
Shen Yuwan was loving the drama. She watched with smiling eyes, glancing between Lin Luqing and Zhou Xian.
“You two know each other?”
Lin Luqing’s face paled, and she looked away in silence.
Zhou Xian, however, was blunt and unashamed. “We were each other’s first love. It’s been a while since we last met.”
