Chapter 65: Gifts

The three of them then moved to the women’s clothing section, each buying a few outfits.

When they reached the first floor, they also bought Qin Lang a pair of sunglasses, and the nurse bought a pair for Dan Ye as well.

Xiao Nan stood aside and muttered, “You both have someone to gift to, I’ll just buy something for myself.”

The nurse directly said, “Then you should hurry up and find a partner so you can buy for someone else too.”

“Why not? How old are you? By the time Dr. Lin was your age, she had already been married for years,” the nurse continued, stating the facts.

Although her relationship with Qin Lang was good now, they didn’t really know each other very well before. She felt that it was better to consider marriage after spending some more time together.

“Exactly,” Xiao Nan echoed, “I don’t want to be tied down, I want to live freely!”

The nurse tapped her on the head and advised, “Freedom is important, but when you meet the right one, you have to grab hold.”

“Yes, I’ll learn from the nurse.”

The nurse and Lin You exchanged glances, then went to buy some cooked food, meats, and vegetables, preparing to head back.

When Lin You returned home, she saw Qin Lang busy in the kitchen making dinner.

Hearing the sound of the door, he turned to look, quickly put down the spatula, and walked over to greet her.

“You’re back!” Qin Lang smiled as he took the bag from Lin You, asking with concern, “Are you tired?”

Lin You shook her head with a smile.

Qin Lang noticed that she was carrying many bags and was somewhat surprised, asking, “Did you buy so many things?”

“I bought what I wanted. What, are you unhappy about me spending money?” Lin You playfully winked at him, teasing him.

Qin Lang quickly shook his head, gently saying, “How could I dare? As long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters.”

Lin You smiled and took out the clothes she bought for Qin Lang, handing them to him “Try them on and see if they fit.”

Qin Lang was somewhat taken a back, he didn’t expect Lin You to buy him new clothes. He happily said, “I’ll try them on later, dinner will be ready soon, so let’s eat first.”

With that, he turned and went back into the kitchen to continue cooking.

Lin You nodded, placing his clothes on the sofa. She had already put the gifts she bought for him into her clothing bag, taking them to the bedroom to put in the closet.

The weather was really a bit hot, and she felt sticky, so she picked up some clothes and walked into the bathroom.

When Lin You came out, Qin Lang was trying on the new clothes, the light blue polo shirt looked very ordinary, even a bit understated, with no particularly eye-catching design or decoration.

However, when it was worn by Qin Lang, it presented a completely different seriousness.

He looked more approachable, easier to connect with.

Qin Lang looked up and just happened to meet Lin You’s gaze. The corners of his mouth lifted slightly, revealing a confident smile, and he softly asked, “How do I look? Handsome?”

Without any hesitation, she praised, “Very handsome.”

Soon it was Qin Lang’s birthday. Lin You took the afternoon off to order a birthday cake for him, then hurried back home. As soon as she got home, she began preparing dinner. By the time everything was ready, Qin Lang also returned home.

As soon as Qin Lang entered the door, he smelled the aroma of the food and saw the dining table filled with various dishes braised pork, steamed pork with rice flour, stir fried vegetables, and a plate of oil braised prawns all of which he liked.

He couldn’t help but be puzzled, asking, “Why did you prepare so many dishes? Is today a special occasion?”

Lin You shook her head helplessly, thinking to herself that he really didn’t remember his own birthday at all.

Seeing that she didn’t speak, Qin Lang looked again at the table filled with food and still couldn’t figure out why she suddenly made such a feast. So he asked again, “What’s wrong?”

Lin You didn’t answer his question but turned and went into the kitchen, bringing out the birthday cake.

Placing the cake on the table, she lit the candles and smiled at Qin Lang “Happy birthday, dear.”

Qin Lang then realized that today was his birthday. He looked at Lin You with emotion, replying, “Thank you, my wife.”

“Do you want to make a wish?”

Qin Lang nodded and really clasped his hands together to make a wish.

After he completed all the motions, Lin You said to him, “Shall we blow out the candles?”

After finishing all the motions, he walked over and hugged Lin You, saying affectionately, “So this is why you took the day off, to prepare all of this.”

Lin You raised an eyebrow and smiled, nodding.

“Wife, it’s really great to have you, I feel so happy right now.”

“Husband, it’s great to have you too.”

After saying this, they both smiled at each other.

“Shall we eat?”

“Sure.”

Qin Lang served Lin You a lot of food, urging her to eat more since she had worked hard all afternoon.

Lin You had made way too much food, even with Qin Lang’s appetite, there was still quite a bit left. Looking at the remaining food, Qin Lang said to Lin You, “Let’s not make so much in the future, it’s too tiring. We can eat out.”

“It’s fine, just put it in the microwave tomorrow morning to heat it up and continue eating.”

“Okay.”

Qin Lang cleaned up the kitchenware while Lin You went to take a shower. When Lin You came out, Qin Lang had also tidied up most of it and was ready to come over to help her dry her hair.

However, Lin You urged him, “You’re all sweaty from eating, go take a shower. I can do it myself.”

Qin Lang looked at her meaningfully and then turned to go into the bathroom.

When Qin Lang came out, Lin You handed him the gifts she bought a few days ago.

Qin Lang accepted them with a smile in his eyes “There are more gifts?”

“Of course, open it and see.”

Qin Lang tried on the sunglasses and belt, and they really fit well. However, when he opened another box and asked in confusion, “What is this?”

Lin You realized she forgot to secretly put it in his closet, and without looking at Qin Lang again, she walked directly into the bedroom, leaving Qin Lang to figure it out himself.

When Qin Lang opened it, he saw that it was the underwear she bought for him, and for a moment, he didn’t know how to react. Seeing Lin You’s earlier shyness, a smile formed at the corner of his mouth as he took the box and walked into the bedroom.

In the bedroom, Lin You was sitting at the vanity with an expression of regret. Qin Lang came over, directly picked her up, and placed her on the bed, quickly pinning her down. He turned her face to look at him, and when Lin You saw the smile in his eyes, she couldn’t bring herself to meet his gaze.

So she could only lower her eyes. Qin Lang didn’t mind, he buried his head in her neck and leaned close to Lin You’s ear, softly saying, “Wife, thank you, I really like it.”

“I’m glad you like it.”

“Who told you to buy this?”

“The nurse and Xiao Nan.”

“Oh.”

“Don’t you like it?”

“I like it, I really like it, haha…”

“What are you laughing at?”

Qin Lang didn’t respond, directly kissing Lin You’s lips, their night had only just begun.
