Stay In Love For Ninety Days
Stay In Love For Ninety Days: Interlude—The Author’s Lament

Originally, this was the ending I had in mind.

But! I can’t bear it…

As I wrote on, I developed feelings for the characters in the book; it felt like they had all become my children. Yuan Yuan is precious, and Zongyue is precious too—how could I bear to let them be sad?

I couldn’t let Zongyue just leave like that, and I couldn’t let Yuan Yuan carry the sorrow of her life for the rest of her days. I couldn’t accept that two people who had finally confirmed their love for each other couldn’t be together forever.

As I grew older, I realized that my heart had become softer. I don’t like to watch tragedies in books or movies, and I always want my own stories to have a happy ending.

Because life is full of imperfections, why not achieve perfection in my own stories?

So I wrote another ending.

That ending could actually be a beginning; perhaps one day, I will write a similar story in that form.

However, if there are readers who feel that a story with a bit of sorrow is more beautiful, you can skip that ending and let the daytime scene remain on this hillside—it wouldn’t be so bad.

Imagine this as an impressionist painting—blue sky, grassy fields, green trees, and dappled light playing across a man and a woman, with time freezing in that moment.

Isn’t it beautiful? Hehe >,>

Dear readers, thank you for walking with me all this way. Your encouragement and support have allowed me to continue creating until now, and I hope you will still accompany me on this journey in the future.

Now, please turn to the next page and see another happy epilogue—
