The night scenery outside the window was slowly rotating, and the lights were like countless fireflies. In that moment, it felt as if the world had turned upside down, and the city lights became as distant as the stars in the sky.

The music was soft and slow, a cello.

Soothing and elegant.

At the dinner table, there were big shots whose status was much higher than hers. Jiang Cha could only lower her head quietly and eat, listening attentively but not daring to join their soft and fragmented conversations.

She lowered her head again and looked at the comments under that Weibo post.

Besides the ones dissatisfied with the casting, there was one particular comment, neither too high nor too low, but with quite a few likes.

Jiang Cha’s fingertips trembled as she clicked on it.

“Everyone, stop arguing. As a fan of the book, I can’t help but share this. There’s a CP super topic for the two sisters in this book, here’s the link [link].”

“GL Orthopedics, very exciting.”

“They’re the most unforgettable CP of the year.”

“Don’t ship them, they’ve already broken up, and it’s addictive. [crying with laughter emoji]”

[LanYe Super Topic]

A short introduction: Yu Lan | Yu Ye CP super topic, self-indulgent fandom.

The super topic has over 20,000 fans, it’s neither hot nor cold, and it’s a relatively niche and unpopular CP. However, male CPs are often more popular domestically, and for a female CP to have this many fans is already considered a top-tier fandom. Moreover, with the award of “Camel Cigarettes”, the popularity of LanYe is increasing rapidly.

Jiang Cha was a bit surprised.

She had always considered “Camel Cigarettes” to be a serious literary work. She had read the original novel but had never thought of the relationship between the two sisters in that way; she had only focused on the characters themselves.

Curiosity getting the better of her, she clicked on the link.

The super topic was full of fan-written stories and fan art of the two sisters. Jiang Cha blinked, tilted her phone slightly, and secretly opened a long image to look at it.

The image was long, like a hand-drawn comic. It was cute and colorful, and with just a few strokes, it perfectly depicted the expressions of the two sisters from the book. The content seemed to be some ordinary and heartwarming daily life, and she found it quite interesting. She smiled, her lips curving upward.

She swiped down with her finger, page by page.

When she reached the last page, she quickly closed the page in shock, her cheeks flushed, and she quickly backed out.

“What are you looking at?”

Luo Yan cut a piece of medium-rare ribeye steak and put it in her mouth, asking slowly.

Embarrassed.

A hint of blush crept up Jiang Cha’s ears. She lowered her eyes and shook her head, “Nothing.”

Jiang Cha didn’t usually pay attention to these super topics, so she hadn’t expected the small comics to be so… ambiguous.

Luo Yan glanced at her darkened phone screen but said nothing.

Before entering the entertainment industry, Jiang Cha had thought it was a very scary place. But she later discovered that it wasn’t entirely so.

There was indeed a dark side to the entertainment industry.

Every industry had its top performers and its fringe members, and industry chaos wasn’t unique to the entertainment industry.

This was especially true for the core creative circle of filmmaking, where only those with real talent could survive.

Those who truly drove the development of the film industry were often those who deeply loved film: directors, actors, and behind-the-scenes workers, who worked hard to make a work as perfect as possible, something that could truly be called a “work” rather than a money-laundering tool.

Sometimes, it took ten years to make a good film. As a director, one had to investigate countless filming locations and strive for perfection in every detail.

Jiang Cha respected them very much.

“By the way,” Song Baiwei asked Luo Yan, “Aren’t you getting married?”

The producer also looked up and asked, “Is it set? When is it?”

“Next Saturday.”

“Why don’t we post your wedding hot search too? That way, the heat will be even higher.”

“Alright.”

“Marrying the eldest son of the Ji family, what good fortune.” The producer laughed, “The Ji family is very wealthy, it’s been accumulated over generations.”

“I know the old man of the Ji family, he’s especially fond of his eldest son.”

Someone interjected.

“The older generation always loves their sons.” Someone else laughed indifferently.

Speaking of the Ji family, everyone couldn’t help but mention Ji Fan, the second daughter of the Ji family.

“Ji Fan is really something. In recent years, Warner Group. has developed so well, it certainly wouldn’t have been possible without her.”

“Ji Fan, huh.”

“Yeah, if she were a man, how many people would be lining up to marry her.”

“With her looks, if she were a man, she could definitely captivate a lot of girls.”

“Hahaha.”

When Jiang Cha heard them talking about Ji Fan, her heart immediately skipped a beat, and the corners of her lips lifted slightly.

Song Baiwei had been paying attention to Jiang Cha and her expression changed slightly. She took the initiative to draw her into the conversation.

“Who gave you the ring?” Song Baiwei looked at her and smiled, “It’s really beautiful.”

“A friend.”

But she didn’t say who.

Jiang Cha lowered her head, and the warm red light from the chandelier fell on her forehead, her straight nose, and her long, slightly curled eyelashes cast a faint ink-colored shadow under her eyes.

Looking at a beauty under the lamp, her beauty was even more striking. Her ink-black eyebrows, vermilion lips, and snow-white skin were covered with a thin layer of blush, incredibly beautiful, with a breathtakingly classical temperament.

In the circle, many beautiful actresses had “sponsors,” and a young girl like Jiang Cha, who was stunningly beautiful, had a clean background, and was highly educated, was even more so.

“Which friend? They’re quite generous.” The art director laughed, “It’s enough to buy an apartment.”

“Such a big diamond, isn’t it heavy?”

Jiang Cha gently lowered her neck and shook her head.

Jiang Cha didn’t know how much it was worth, and hearing everyone praise it, she suddenly felt embarrassed, so she slowly moved it from the table to under the table.

“Xiao Jiang is so beautiful, you’re definitely going to marry a rich and powerful man in the future.”

The ring was a gift from Ji Fan.

Marry a rich and powerful man?

Ji Fan?

Although she knew it was impossible, she couldn’t help but imagine it.

Jiang Cha pursed her lips, and her ears turned a bright red.

My heart aches and there is no divorce arc yet. Though, I would be find it funny if Luo Yan ended up crushing on Jiang Cha then become good friends. I am also looking forward for Luo Yan’s apology to Ji Fan when that happens.
