The clarification letter was sent quickly.
It was written by the company’s copywriters according to the agent’s instructions. Jiang Cha glanced at it and found three key points.
The first point was to deny the fact that their relationship had broken down. It explained that not wearing a ring was simply because she didn’t have the habit of wearing rings and didn’t like the feeling of being restrained on her fingers, just like some people didn’t like watches or bracelets. She simply found it uncomfortable to wear them.
The second point was to explain her residence.
The reason she moved to Xiangshan Villa was because she had taken on the drama “Camel Cigarette.” The filming location was in a film base near Xiangshan Villa, and Ji Fan’s residence was too far from the filming location. In order to shorten the distance to and from the filming site and reduce travel time, she moved.
The third point was to explain the third photo.
The reason why Ji Fan went to knock on the door was that the two had agreed in advance about moving, and Ji Fan knew where Jiang Cha lived, so she could go to find her so openly.
Jiang Cha swiped the screen up and down with her finger and thought it was fine.
“Okay, it’s well-written.”
Yang Yan said, “Can you communicate with Ji Fan now? Is it convenient for you to talk to her? If it’s not convenient, I’ll contact her and ask her to cooperate.”
Jiang Cha’s slender eyelashes drooped.
They trembled slightly.
She wanted to avoid Ji Fan as much as possible now. Communicate with her? No way.
“It’s not convenient.”
“Okay,” Yang Yan said, “It’s okay, I’ll tell her.”
Yang Yan asked Jiang Cha for Ji Fan’s phone number, and then repeated the incident that had just happened to Ji Fan in an orderly manner.
Ji Fan clearly didn’t know, and after listening to her finish, she was stunned for a moment.
For a while, neither of them spoke.
Ji Fan’s eyes darkened slightly.
“They even took a picture in the corridor?”
As she asked, she switched to the hot news page that had just been released and looked at the three photos.
The one in the corridor seemed to have been taken by the child who had secretly opened a gap in the door and peeked through.
Was someone instructing them?
The news copy said it was a chance shot by a passerby.
Impossible.
Obviously, it couldn’t be a passerby who took the photo.
Someone was targeting them.
Who was it?
It could be a competitor, or someone who had a grudge against her, wanting to take this opportunity to smear her.
The possibility of a competitive relationship was very high.
Jiang Cha was a reserved person and had always adopted a “less is more” approach to life. In the past, she had always been submissive in various relationships, not fighting or competing. How could she have offended anyone or had a grudge against someone?
It was possible, however, that because she had taken on Song Baiwei’s drama, someone had noticed her upward trend.
She had stepped on someone’s toes or blocked someone’s path.
After all, resources were limited, and everyone was scrambling to get them. The more someone was on the rise, the more likely they were to be targeted. On the surface, everyone was friendly, but behind the scenes, they were all comparing themselves and there were undercurrents.
Countless eyes were secretly watching.
They all wanted to drag the one who was emerging to the surface down.
Her phone dinged.
Yang Yan sent over the clarification letter.
“Ms. Ji, please take a look. If it’s okay, can you write a similar one on your side as well?”
Ji Fan skimmed through the clarification letter.
Her long eyebrows furrowed.
“No,” Ji Fan said bluntly, “Aren’t you afraid that others might have more follow-up information?”
The clarification only explained the three photos released in the hot search, but she felt that they had definitely taken more than just these three photos. If they put up a false clarification letter, and then more details were exposed later, wouldn’t they be backfiring?
Such a deceitful act would lose a lot of points.
Instead of clarifying the situation, it would only make things worse.
“Then, what does Ms. Ji mean?”
Ji Fan didn’t answer.
She sighed, stood up, and walked to the balcony, leaning against the carved railing.
The night breeze was cool and gentle, tousling her long hair.
Her indifferent brows were tinged with ambiguity in the night.
“Jiang Cha didn’t do anything wrong.” Ji Fan’s voice became very soft, “Why should she clarify? Since she didn’t do anything wrong, there’s no need to clarify.”
“…”
Yang Yan’s eyes widened slightly, somewhat incredulous.
What did Ji Fan want to do?
“I should be the one to clarify.”
Lowering her eyelashes, she turned her head and looked at the shimmering lake in the moonlight, her expression a little forlorn.
She lowered her eyes, curling her fingers unconsciously. “I’ll explain it.”
“Well, isn’t that a bit inappropriate?” Yang Yan was a little nervous.
Her impression of Ji Fan was summed up in three words: unreliable.
Especially when it came to dealing with matters related to Jiang Cha.
She’ll explain? How will she explain? Admit that their relationship is on the rocks?
That’s not a joke.
“Don’t worry,” Ji Fan said confidently, “Don’t tell Jiang Cha about it first. I’ll handle it perfectly.”
“……Okay.”
That tone was overly arrogant.
Yang Yan was too embarrassed to say anything more.
And she couldn’t say much.
Ji Fan, according to her rank, was her boss’s boss’s boss, and she didn’t know how many levels of authority she spanned. If she were to intervene, Yang Yan simply didn’t have the position or the right to refuse.
It’s just that Jiang Cha’s reputation might be ruined in the hands of this woman surnamed Ji.
It’s a pity.
Ji Fan held the transparent box.
Inside was a preserved red rose.
Preserved flowers are made through a special process. Fresh flowers are washed to remove the contents of plant cells – sugars, fats, etc. The plant cells that have undergone preservation and dyeing retain their natural structure, shape, and color, so they feel no different from fresh flowers to the touch.
They say it can last at least two years, without wilting or withering, maintaining the shape and texture of fresh flowers.
I was originally going to have someone deliver it to her.
But now I can only go there myself.
It’s really… a bit difficult.
And a bit embarrassing.
Ji Fan held the card and flipped it over.
The sour little poem she wrote on a whim seemed rather awkward now, making her feel embarrassed and even a little hot.
However, compared to the exaggerated heart-shaped red roses, this poem didn’t seem so terrible.
Ji Fan had never done such an embarrassing thing in her life.
Sending flowers and writing poems.
Should she really go and deliver it herself?
Ji Fan had a sudden urge to run away.
But she had already promised Yang Yan.
She sighed.
She sat on the leather sofa and swiped through the trending search that had been posted.
Then her face turned pale.
The comments below were as nasty as they could be.
How would Jiang Cha feel when she saw it?
She would be very sad, wouldn’t she?
Such a girl who was almost defenseless, seeing these, would certainly not even have the strength to refute them.
Some people, when they are hurt, will fight back.
Others, the more hurt they are, the more self-destructive they become.
Ji Fan was so angry at the malicious attacks that she grabbed the box and went out.
In the car, she called her assistant and asked her to follow and hide on the side, taking sneak shots from the perspective of a passerby.
First, release a video to create hype, pretending that it was a passerby who captured the scene of Ji Fan apologizing and sending flowers.
Then Ji Fan would come out and write a letter of apology.
First, admit that their relationship had been strained recently.
Second, admit that the relationship had been strained because she had done something wrong, a very serious mistake, and it had nothing to do with Jiang Cha.
Third, state that they were not divorced and would not divorce.
••••
The car pulled up to the company building.
It was already 10:30 at night.
Long after work hours, the building was still brightly lit, like an inextinguishable beacon, particularly eye-catching in the darkness.
The assistant slowly got out.
As soon as she got in the car, her eyes kept drifting over to the box of flowers her boss was holding.
From the information she had gleaned from her boss’s words and the speculations online, she guessed that Jiang Cha and her boss had recently been having relationship problems, and that Ji Fan herself was at fault.
She was holding flowers, going to apologize.
As a seasoned bystander who had witnessed the whole thing and was even lucky enough to participate, it was quite exciting.
Ji Fan was wearing a long brown coat, the fabric reflecting the light, and the six double-row silver buttons were particularly eye-catching in the night. The cuffs were designed to be wide, and a long belt was tied around her waist, perfectly outlining her tall and slender figure.
Her long, curly hair was glossy and bouncy, and rose gold tassel earrings dangled from her jet-black hair, swaying gently with the slight bumps in the road, shimmering with gold.
It matched the overall color scheme very well.
She sat in the back seat, her expression very calm, revealing nothing.
“Ms. Ji,” the assistant glanced at her and said softly, “I have a small suggestion.”
Ji Fan turned her head.
“Go on.”
“You can put candles down below her floor,” the assistant whispered. “Definitely more than just me will be taking pictures then, the whole neighborhood will be able to see it. There will be more video versions circulating online, and the effect might be better, more realistic.”
Ji Fan: “……”
Sending flowers and taking videos was already pushing the limit of what she could accept.
And put candles?
How would she be able to establish her authority in the future?
Heh.
“No.”
She lowered her eyes coldly, her fingertips curling slightly.
“Ms. Ji, I’m serious,” the assistant said earnestly, “I think if you don’t put candles, Ms. Jiang might ignore you directly and not come out. Your flowers won’t be able to be delivered.”
It would be even better to grab a small loudspeaker and shout outside her floor.
This scene was full of all kinds of elements of an idol drama, it was perfect.
Ji Fan was silent for a moment, then said, “We’ll see how it goes. If she doesn’t come out, we’ll talk about it then.”
What did she mean by “if she doesn’t come out, we’ll talk about it then”?
Ms. Jiang definitely wouldn’t come out.
Unless they were going to call a locksmith to deliver the flowers?
What was the difference between that and breaking and entering?
The assistant glanced at Ji Fan’s enigmatic profile and fell into thought.
