The next day.
Wen Ci woke up from hunger. Last night, that despicable man had completely disregarded her physical condition, acting like a wolf that had been starving for decades, repeatedly savoring her.
To be fair, Huo Jingyuan’s stamina was unbelievably good.
Wen Ci couldn’t help but sigh softly. Indeed, one shouldn’t be too arrogant. Just last night, she had been thoroughly taught a lesson by that dog-like man.
She reached out to rub her sore waist as she sat up, pulling open the curtains. The spring sunlight streamed through the window, filling the room, while outside, the sky was blue with white clouds.
Wen Ci was wearing a silk nightgown. Feeling a bit hungry, she decided to make a bowl of instant noodles. Just then, Huo Jingyuan appeared at the bedroom door.
The man was dressed in camouflage training clothes, with an apron tied around his waist. His deep, abyss-like eyes carried a hint of a satisfied smile: “Last night proved that my stamina is no exaggeration, right?”
Huo Jingyuan’s voice was low and rich, like strong liquor.
Wen Ci’s face flushed as she couldn’t help but recall how someone had insisted on her calling him “Ah Yuan” last night. She bit her lip and said pitifully, “Huo, Jing, Yuan, I’m hungry.”
Her voice was a bit hoarse.
The family quarters were also known as the “pregnancy quarters.” Most of the people who came to live here did so with the intention of having children, so the soundproofing had been specially reinforced.
Among the surrounding three-bedroom courtyards, only Huo Jingyuan was living there.
Last night, Wen Ci’s voice had inevitably been a bit loud.
“I made some soup for you,” Huo Jingyuan said slowly.
He had served in the military in the northwest for twelve years, and today was the first time he had taken the initiative to ask for leave. After getting up early in the morning, he had specifically asked the canteen for instructions on how to cook and make soup.
The supplies delivered weekly to the northwest military compound were purchased according to standard. In order to buy the canteen’s pork ribs, Huo Jingyuan had even agreed to personally deliver supplies to Haishi.
“What kind of soup?”
“Corn and pork rib soup.”
Wen Ci’s throat was hoarse, and pear water would have been the most suitable for her. However, pears were not available in the northwest during this season, so she could only drink some pork rib soup to nourish her body.
“What else?” Wen Ci asked.
“Shredded potatoes.”
Yesterday, he had asked for advice on some spicy dishes, but today he wanted to make something lighter for Wen Ci. Shredded potatoes were the most appetizing among vegetarian dishes.
Wen Ci was satisfied. She glanced down at the silk nightgown she was wearing and asked curiously, “Who bought this?”
The man’s smile reached his eyes: “I changed you into it.”
Wen Ci: “…”
She had asked who bought the nightgown, not who changed her into it.
Besides, didn’t she already know who had changed her?
Suddenly, Wen Ci’s thoughts returned to last night. She had been so exhausted that she had no strength left, her body sticky as the man carried her to the bathroom to bathe.
In her tired and hazy state, he had demanded another round in the bathroom.
Afterward, Huo Jingyuan had dressed her like a doll.
Wen Ci glanced down at the marks on her collarbone and glared at him: “Huo Jingyuan, are you a dog? A ravenous old dog who’s never tasted meat before.”
Huo Jingyuan wasn’t angered; instead, he laughed.
Wen Ci’s words were like punches hitting cotton.
Seeing that he had no reaction, Wen Ci decided to cut her losses. She needed to rest her throat and walked to the door, deliberately avoiding him: “Serve me some food.”
Huo Jingyuan reached out, his arm encircling Wen Ci’s waist as he followed closely behind her toward the living room. The silk nightgown was thin and sheer.
Remembering Wen Ci’s softness, he gently pinched her waist and leaned in close to her ear: “Ah Ci, after eating, let me apply some medicine for you, okay?”
Apply medicine?!
Wen Ci instantly felt a surge of heat.
A man who had just tasted meat for the first time was inevitably hard to control, resulting in some redness and swelling on her body. It would heal without medicine, but applying medicine would speed up the recovery.
Wen Ci’s face turned red: “You even went to the hospital to get medicine?!”
