While Wu Zhengwei was busy completing the tasks Wu Hao had assigned to him, that morning in the village, Wu Sancai, accompanied by two lawyers sent by Wu Hao, signed relevant contracts with several villagers.
After the contracts were signed, the two lawyers, following Wu Hao’s prior instructions, promptly informed the company about the completion. The company’s finance department quickly disbursed the compensation payments to these villagers.
“Brother Yao, I’ve found out that the villagers have all received their compensation,” one of the young men who had been with Yao Kaiyin excitedly shouted to him in a small inn in town.
The young man’s excitement stemmed from Yao Kaiyin’s promise that once he received his family’s compensation, he would reward them for their efforts. Otherwise, why would they be so willing to follow Yao Kaiyin around and do his bidding?
“Really? I didn’t expect them to be so efficient!” Yao Kaiyin’s eyes lit up upon hearing his subordinate’s call. To be honest, he was already fed up with staying in the town’s only inn for days. If it weren’t for waiting for his family’s compensation, he wouldn’t have stayed in this small town for so long.
“Let’s go to the bank to withdraw the money!” Yao Kaiyin commanded his subordinates. Although the bank account registered with Wu Hao’s company was his father Yao Xinggui’s, Yao Kaiyin had obtained his father’s bank card, passbook, and password right after his father registered his only bank account yesterday.
So, hearing that the other villagers had received their compensation, Yao Kaiyin couldn’t wait to go to the bank to withdraw the money and leave this backwater place.
However, ten minutes later, at the bank, after checking the balance, Yao Kaiyin’s expression turned sour.
“What the hell? Why is there only 500,000 on the card?” The young men gathered around immediately upon hearing Yao Kaiyin’s curse.
“500,000? Brother Yao, I heard those villagers received 5 million in compensation. How come your family only got 500,000? That’s impossible!”
“Damn it, how would I know? Let’s go back to the village. I want to see what tricks Wu Hao is playing, trying to fob me off with 500,000.” Yao Kaiyin cursed angrily.
He casually withdrew 20,000 in cash, then called for a few motorcycles to head back to the village. Upon arriving, they went straight to Wu Hao’s house. Getting off the bike, Yao Kaiyin shouted arrogantly, “Wu Hao, get out here! You think you can get rid of me with 500,000? If you don’t make up the remaining 5 million today, don’t blame me for being rude.”
It was clear that Yao Kaiyin was furious. He quickly deduced that Wu Hao must have been behind the low compensation, as Wu Hao was in charge of the compensation and investment decisions.
“Son, that rascal is here again. Should we call the police?” Wu Hao’s parents were worried, knowing that Yao Kaiyin and his gang were troublemakers. Their concern was natural, given the villagers’ general disdain for Yao Kaiyin’s group.
“Don’t worry, Mom. You and Dad stay inside. I’ll handle this,” Wu Hao reassured his mother. He had anticipated Yao Kaiyin’s arrival, as he had deliberately arranged the compensation for Yao Xinggui’s family to prevent the money from being squandered by his son.
If Yao Kaiyin had been satisfied with the 500,000, Wu Hao might have shown leniency. But now, Wu Hao had no such intention. However, he wouldn’t kill Yao Kaiyin, as that would be too easy. The best way to deal with someone like him was to let him rot in jail.
Moments later, seeing Wu Hao, Yao Kaiyin spoke with a sinister look, “Wu Hao, you’d better give me the rest of the money, or else I’ll make you regret it!”
“I told you yesterday, your family’s compensation will only go to your father. You have no right to it. Your father agreed to another compensation method, so the first cash payment is just 500,000,” Wu Hao calmly replied.
“I don’t care about your excuses. If you don’t give me the rest today, you’ll suffer! And I heard your sister is quite pretty now, huh?” Enraged, Yao Kaiyin resorted to threats, thinking Wu Hao, now wealthy, would be afraid of death.
However, he underestimated Wu Hao’s background. Knowing Wu Hao from the same village, Yao Kaiyin assumed Wu Hao had no significant backing despite his recent wealth. In his anger, Yao Kaiyin even considered attacking Wu Hao directly.
Luckily, he didn’t. Otherwise, he would have been on the ground already. Wu Hao, hearing Yao Kaiyin’s threats involving his sister, stopped wasting words.
In an instant, Wu Hao’s mental power overwhelmed Yao Kaiyin like a mountain, forcing him to his knees in terror.
“You’re courting death, you know that?” Wu Hao said, looking at the terrified Yao Kaiyin kneeling before him.
