Although Wu Hao had obtained the black meteorite, he didn’t rush to absorb it. Instead, he planned to transport it back to the base for analysis using the instruments of the intelligent system. Even if the structure of the black meteorite remained a mystery, he still wanted to understand how it enhanced his superpowers. Additionally, he intended to develop a specialized detector based on the radiation emitted by the meteorite.
Since Wu Hao had already encountered a black meteorite in the Qinling Mountains and now acquired another one at an auction in the U.S., he believed there could be more scattered across Earth. With this possibility in mind, he wouldn’t miss the chance to search for more.
Besides, he was about to embark on a 20-day trip with his family and couldn’t return to China right away. Therefore, he instructed the intelligent system to quickly manufacture an unmanned aircraft to transport the meteorite and compass back to the Qinling base for research.
“Boss, the aircraft will be ready in about 20 hours.” The intelligent system had already begun work on it the previous day, but due to the overwhelming workload at the Qinling base, it wasn’t feasible to halt other ongoing projects to prioritize the aircraft. However, completing a unique aircraft from scratch in just two days was already incredibly fast.
This aircraft wasn’t large, resembling a missile more than a traditional flying machine, as its propulsion was based on rocket principles. Currently, the fastest flying objects in the world were missiles, not planes. However, Wu Hao’s aircraft wasn’t just designed for speed; its exterior was coated with advanced stealth materials to evade radar detection.
In other words, unless seen by the naked eye or identified by the faint pale-blue flame from its tail, no radar system in the world would be able to detect its presence.
Moreover, the aircraft was about the size of a conventional large missile. Apart from the front storage compartment, the rest was reserved for fuel and the control system. Despite its small size, its speed was unrivaled—it could make a round trip from Qinling to South America in just over an hour.
With a theoretical speed of Mach 26, equivalent to nearly 30,000 kilometers per hour, and the distance between the Qinling base and South America being around 10,000 kilometers, the aircraft could easily complete the journey in that time.
After Wu Hao arrived in South America, he went straight to the hotel where his parents were staying and joined them. They then planned the next few days of their trip. After some discussion, they decided to spend half a day touring Brazil’s capital, Brasília, followed by attending the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, and finally visiting the Amazon rainforest.
This was their agreed-upon itinerary for Brazil. Afterward, they would spend two days in Argentina, Chile, and Peru before heading to Europe.
That morning, after a brief tour of Brasília with his family, they flew to Rio. After watching the Olympics that night, Wu Hao left the hotel once his parents had gone to sleep, heading to a remote, uninhabited area over 100 kilometers from Rio.
Wu Hao waited for only a few minutes before a bright light in the distant sky rapidly approached and then slowed, landing smoothly nearby. Without delay, Wu Hao placed the ancient jade compass and meteorite into the storage compartment of the aircraft. Once secured, the aircraft ignited, ascending into the sky. Soon, only a faint pale-blue flame was visible.
Throughout the entire process, Brazil’s military radar detected nothing. In fact, even the U.S. military, with its advanced technology, failed to notice the aircraft’s trajectory. Given its stealth and brief presence, the only way it could’ve been detected was by direct, close-up observation. If they had detected it, their military capabilities would have already reached a level that involved extraterrestrial space exploration.
Even when the aircraft departed from the Qinling base in broad daylight, ***, the military forces hadn’t noticed an unidentified flying object passing through their airspace.
Meanwhile, in Las Vegas, thousands of kilometers away from Brazil, despite the city’s usual bustle, insiders knew that two influential families were searching for someone and something. After two days of fruitless efforts, Will and Med began to shift their approach, investigating travel records of people who had recently entered and left Las Vegas. With the support of their powerful networks, they finally identified a few suspects, including Wu Hao and his family.
“Boss, based on our investigation, among the dozens of suspects, the most suspicious is this rich man from the East. According to the records, on the morning of the auction, he sent his family to South America.”
“He, however, did not leave with them. After two days of surveillance, we found no evidence of him leaving Las Vegas. It wasn’t until we examined travel logs in nearby cities that we discovered he had flown out of the U.S. the same night as the auction.”
