Although there was only one boat and one person, which surprised Jon, once he saw that the person was Wu Hao, his focus shifted. The person approaching wasn’t just anyone—it was Wu Hao himself, the target of their mission.

After hearing Jon’s report through the communicator from the opposite shore a few hundred meters behind, Wright was even more surprised and uncertainly asked, “Jon, are you sure the person is our target for this mission?”

“Yes, sir, I’m absolutely certain! The target is very close to me now,” Jon replied confidently to Wright on the other end of the communicator.

“Don’t reveal yourself yet. Wait for the target to reach the designated spot and follow my orders,” Wright quickly instructed after hearing Jon’s confirmation.

What they didn’t know was that ever since they left the town, took a detour to arrive at Wu Hao’s inevitable path, and set an ambush along the river, their movements had already been detected. The intelligent system, Zero, had collaborated with several satellites to track their location. Although it only roughly confirmed their position, it was enough for Wu Hao.

Because Wu Hao’s mental sensing range was up to one kilometer, by the time he reached the outer perimeter of Wright and his team’s ambush site, he had already clearly sensed their hidden positions and the various weapons they carried.

Wright and Jon’s team had come using rubber boats, and since the speed of the boat Wu Hao and his family had taken from the town wasn’t fast, it wasn’t surprising that Wright and his men had arrived earlier to set up the ambush.

However, since Wu Hao came alone, it was clear he didn’t intend to let Wright and his men go. Even though they were all former elite soldiers from various countries, each with extensive combat experience and survivors of countless gunfights, it didn’t matter.

If Wu Hao made a move, they probably wouldn’t even have the chance to fire a shot.

“Will you come out on your own, or should I invite you out?” Wu Hao’s boat stopped in the middle of the river where Wright and Jon were located, and he shouted loudly in English.

Although Wu Hao had already reached Wright and Jon’s prearranged ambush spot, Wright, realizing Wu Hao seemed aware of their entire plan, didn’t have Jon take immediate action, deciding to observe first.

But what they didn’t expect was for Wu Hao to boldly shout out, making it clear he knew all about them while showing no concern for them at all.

“Jon, come out! Don’t act yet, wait for my orders,” Wright immediately instructed through the communicator. He then signaled his men, hidden throughout the rainforest, to put their rubber boats into the water. One by one, they boarded the boats, raised their guns, and surrounded Wu Hao’s vessel.

“Good, all 32 of you are out,” Wu Hao said indifferently after seeing Wright and his team emerge. His words, however, made Wright and his men frown even more.

“Since you already know who we are, you must also know why we’re here. Where’s the meteorite?” Wright said as he signaled Jon. The team that had surrounded Wu Hao started to close in on his boat, keeping their guns trained on him the whole time. Yet, Wu Hao remained calm, showing no sign of discomfort despite being surrounded by dozens of firearms.

“You’re not completely stupid. However, you’re all destined to stay here today,” Wu Hao remarked as the men approached. He knew that if they boarded his boat, they would immediately try to subdue him. Rather than letting them make the first move, he decided to deal with them right away.

After all, these men were destined to remain here today because Wu Hao needed to send a warning to the forces behind them. If this warning didn’t work, then he would deal with it again later.

Despite the deep-rooted power of the DuPont and Rothschild families, which was so immense that even the U.S. government couldn’t touch them, Wu Hao wasn’t afraid of confronting them. Their influence extended beyond the U.S., with significant power across many European countries, having survived through centuries, including both World Wars.

But no matter their power, Wu Hao wasn’t worried. To him, neither their wealth nor their military strength posed a real threat.

At the moment Wu Hao decided to act, he didn’t make any grand moves. He simply waved his hand, and immediately, the firearms held by the surrounding men were seized by an invisible force.

Although some reacted quickly to the force, their efforts were futile. In an instant, they lost control of their weapons and lost balance, falling into the water.

As they fell, the daggers they carried suddenly seemed to come alive, drawing themselves from their sheaths and targeting their hearts or throats.

Everything happened so quickly—in a single breath. Even though these men were battle-hardened elites, they couldn’t avoid being attacked by their own weapons. In the blink of an eye, the 32 men either fell into the water or collapsed onto their rubber boats.

The one thing they all had in common was a dagger either in their throat or heart.

These daggers were their own. After this eerie scene of slaughter, an unsettling silence descended over the river. The floating bodies and blood-stained water bore witness to the gruesome scene.

Soon, carnivorous fish, drawn by the smell of blood, joined in what they saw as a feast.

These fish, attracted by the scent of blood, were none other than the infamous piranhas that inhabit the entire Amazon basin. While they don’t typically attack humans, if a bleeding person or animal falls into the river, the fish won’t care whether it’s human or beast. To them, it’s all prey.

However, the piranhas didn’t get to enjoy their feast for long. Wu Hao used his telekinesis to throw the bodies, their boats, and their weapons into the surrounding rainforest.

The blood that had stained the river quickly dispersed, and the water returned to its normal state.
