Chapter 6: The Magical SSS+ Card Camera
She immediately opened her personal panel and saw that the previously undeveloped feature area had been updated to “Camera Space,” with an ellipsis following it—but it couldn’t be clicked.
Excitedly, she tapped into the Camera Space and simultaneously received a system prompt from 069.
[Would you like to take photos of your personal supplies?]
“Yes,” Wen Mingyue replied with a thought after considering for a moment.
[Photo taken. All supplies have been automatically stored into Static Space.]
She immediately checked it with her consciousness.
She saw a neatly squared-off space with numerous pink, patterned cards lying at the bottom.
Silently thinking of extracting one card, a card quickly appeared in her hand. “Looks like I can retrieve items with my thoughts.”
On the pink card printed with antique patterns, the following information appeared:
Fresh beef – 100 catties
(A picture of the beef was also shown.)
At the bottom, fine print read:
When stored in Static Space, freshness is preserved permanently. Once removed from Static Space and placed into a backpack, time will flow at the same rate as similar items on Blue Star. Use thought control to extract specific quantities. It is not recommended to store items elsewhere—otherwise, love will disappear.
She straightened up and immediately put it to the test. She silently thought of extracting 1 catty of beef, and a small chunk of beef appeared in her hand.
But when she tried to return it using the same method, it didn’t work.
Then she silently thought of taking a photo—and a new card appeared in her hand.
Fresh beef – 1 catty
(A picture of the beef was included.)
The fine print below was the same.
It seemed that once an item had been taken out of a card, it couldn’t be returned to the original card, but she could re-photograph it into a new one.
She couldn’t help but be amazed. She’d thought she’d have to manually take photos, but it turned out that just using her mind could complete both photographing and retrieving items. It felt incredibly secure, and she didn’t have to worry about others coveting her supplies.
She also discovered that within the Camera Space panel, she could view categorized supplies, similar to a shopping website on Blue Star—making it very convenient to keep track of her stockpile.
She took stock of her inventory:
Two beef cards: one with 99 catties, and another with 1 catty.
Three wood cards.
All other item cards existed as single cards.
To her surprise and delight, even lemon trees, orange trees, and grapevines could be stored in cards.
There were also dedicated cards for the bathing system and power system, and clicking on them would show detailed descriptions.
Bathing System: Once installed, as long as there’s water and electricity, washing clothes, cooking, washing hair, and bathing are no longer a problem. It comes with its own faucet and water heater.
Note: The water source must be at least purified water.
Power System: Once activated, you can choose to install electrical wiring and power outlets. Requires power cards or other energy sources to maintain electricity.
Other energy sources?
Wen Mingyue immediately thought of the Energy Trash Bin she had received as a game reward. She decided to examine it more closely tomorrow after returning to the fishing boat.
Among the supplies from the ocean survival game, aside from the large machete, fishing boat (1), fishing rod (1, intermediate), fishing net (1, advanced), and protective shield (1), all were still in a locked state and fixed in her backpack.
The Protective Shield could only be applied to a residence (current residence: fishing boat).
She reorganized commonly used tools and materials and placed them back into her backpack. As for the preservation space, she planned to mainly store food-related supplies there.
After drinking more than half a bottle of water and eating two large meat buns, she continued reviewing the instructions while sorting her tools. At the same time, she asked the upgraded 069 to help monitor the regional chat content.
Nowadays, 069 was capable of more and more tasks—and crucially, it never slacked off. It even proactively asked for more responsibilities.
Wen Mingyue was quite satisfied and silently made up her mind to properly reward her dear little system in the future.
She then checked the blueprints, starting with the kitchenware blueprint, which included a full set: pots, bowls, plates, etc. The materials could be chosen freely.
Wood, iron, ceramics, silver, and gold were all usable. Iron combined with refined iron could even produce stainless steel versions.
Wen Mingyue planned to upgrade her fishing boat first after returning, and then use whatever materials remained to craft tools.
She knew very well that the main game system liked to stir up competition and would assign various first-time rewards—importantly, some rewards were public, while others were hidden.
Next, she looked at the blueprint for an Advanced Water Purifier:
[Advanced Water Purifier Blueprint]: Glass x10, Plastic x2, Refined Iron x2. Can purify up to 50 liters of water per day. Purifying seawater will additionally produce 500g of edible salt.
Except for the refined iron, she didn’t have any of the other materials yet.
As for the fishing equipment blueprints, the main material required was iron. For greater durability, refined iron could be added. Besides the fishing net and rod, other fishing tools like crab traps, harpoons, and cranes for hauling catches could all be crafted—it was a very comprehensive setup.
Among these, the crab trap and crane required the most iron.
After sorting everything, Wen Mingyue planned to complete the water purifier, crab trap, and crane before going to bed.
Achieving freedom through king crab fishing wasn’t just a dream.
With that in mind, she opened her personal panel, found the Shop section, and applied to register.
[Congratulations! You are the 1,268th player to register a personal shop.]
She slapped her forehead. Ugh—felt like she’d just lost a fortune.
“How could I forget to register the shop first?” she muttered. Given how this game system operated, there must be a first-time registration reward!
But regretting it was pointless. She couldn’t possibly be the first at everything—other players needed a chance to play too.
[Please name your shop.]
After thinking for a moment, she typed a name into the holographic screen.
[“Wen Mingyue’s Specialty Store” successfully named.]
[Would you like to activate the traffic boost channel?]
[Once activated, the shop will be pinned as a top advertisement for 3 minutes in the entire zone.]
[Activation cost: 10 Gold Coins (1 Gold Ingot = 10 Gold Coins)]
[Beep. Detected that player Wen Mingyue currently owns 5 Gold Ingots. Exchange 1 Gold Ingot for 10 Gold Coins?]
[Yes / No]
Wen Mingyue considered it and chose [Yes].
At the same time, in Greater China Zone 96, online player count: 88,498
[Congratulations! Player Wen Mingyue has opened a personal shop: “Wen Mingyue’s Specialty Store,” and activated traffic promotion. This ad will be pinned and displayed across the zone for 3 minutes.]
[Congratulations! Player Wen Mingyue has used gold coins for promotion for the first time. Reward: 1 Shop Crown.]
Wang Hui: “Whoa! Isn’t that the boss who got the first kills on Level 2 and Level 3 monsters?”
Zhu Zhu: “It must be. I opened a shop too, but promotion costs gold coins. The system says you can exchange gold ingots for coins. There was an earlier announcement about first-kill bosses being rewarded with gold treasure chests.”
Sister Yingzi: “Ugh, so jealous. I’m definitely jealous.”
User 51886: “Aaaaah, big boss! I’m going to check it out!”
Miao Ke: “Weren’t you the one with claustrophobia? You’re still hanging in there?”
User 51886: “Sorry to disappoint—still alive and well! Honestly, thank this game for curing me.”
Miao Ke: “666” (slang for “awesome”)
Wen Mingyue hadn’t even had time to stock any products yet, and already a bunch of gossip-hungry players had started following her shop. Within minutes, her follower count exceeded 10,000+.
The very first product link on her shop was the Advanced Water Purifier material exchange offer. She set the quantity at 20 units—for now, nothing else would be listed.
[Glass x20, Plastic x4, Refined Iron x4 — Redeemable for Advanced Water Purifier. Produces 50L purified water daily; purifying seawater yields an additional 500g of edible salt.]
She wasn’t worried about others knowing the materials required to make a purifier—without the blueprint, no one else could manufacture one anyway.
