Sweet Military Marriage of the 1980s The Ex-Husband Regrets It at the Crematorium Chapter 29

Chapter 29: What? My Pig Was Killed?

Hearing the screams, Qiao Jiangxin twitched her mouth.

She looked towards Qiao Jianguo’s room and saw Qiao Youfu and Qiao Youcai dragging him out.

Qiao Jianguo clung to the doorframe, his eyes bulging with terror.

His desperate struggle showed he wasn’t injured, but a fighting warrior.

Qiao Jiangxin calmly raised her voice, “You’re screaming loudly, you’re quite strong. Let’s beat you again.”

As soon as she finished, Qiao Jianguo stopped screaming and released his grip on the doorframe.

He seemed resigned, no longer resisting.

He was dragged into the courtyard.

He deeply regretted his arrogance.

Was this karma?

Looking at the composed Qiao Jiangxin, he stammered in terror, “Wh-what are you doing?

K-k-killing someone is illegal.”

Qiao Jiangxin looked down at him, “Killing? This is an accident.

We were pushing the wheelbarrow, and you chose to lie under it.  What’s that to us?

Many people can testify that you were fine this afternoon. So, if you die later, it’s not our fault.”

Qiao Jianguo, already sweating from pain, felt his heart leap into his throat.

He nervously asked, “Wh-what do you mean?”

Qiao Jiangxin examined him, “Don’t you feel pain in your legs, stomach, and body?”

Qiao Jianguo was already in pain lying down, and being dragged out made it worse.

“Pain, pain.”

Qiao Jiangxin said, “That’s right. Uncle Haimou treated your leg wound, but your right foot is broken, and your ribs are fractured.

A broken foot is fine; you’ll be crippled, but you don’t work anyway.

The ribs are troublesome. If they puncture your heart, you’ll meet my grandmother.

But don’t worry, we have connections.

Your mother treated my uncle and father badly, and my grandmother saw it.

When you die, my grandmother will love you. Prepare yourself.”

Qiao Jianguo almost fainted.

No wonder his leg and chest hurt so much. He was going to die.

“Y-you’re lying, right?” Qiao Jianguo visibly weakened, as if he were about to die.

Qiao Jiangxin sneered, “Why lie to a dead man?

No one is taking you to the hospital. You’re going to die here.

Even if your parents rushed back and took you to the hospital, do you have money?

Grandpa gave me all the family’s money. Do you think I’ll pay for your treatment?

So, you’re going to die.  This is your karma for bullying us.”

Seeing Qiao Jianguo’s despair, Qiao Jiangxin felt a thrill.

Lei Honghua and Qiao Jiuwang hadn’t arrived yet.

Liu Afang pondered whether to cook.  No matter what, the family needed to eat.

Qiao Youcai looked up at the sky and muttered to himself, “I wonder where Mom and Dad went.”

Liu Afang was worried, “Could it be that something really happened to the baby in the third son’s wife’s belly?  Why haven’t they come back yet? The sun’s almost setting. It doesn’t make sense.”

Qiao Jiangxin recalled Li Xiaoping’s performance earlier; it was terrible, so nothing should have happened.  Only Lei Honghua and the others truly worried, so they didn’t notice.

“Since they haven’t come back yet, they must have gone to Lijiagou. The third uncle is the grandparents’ most cherished son.

Not to mention the concern for the baby in the third aunt’s belly, the third uncle also relies on Li Sanfa’s father-in-law. The grandparents must have gone with the Li family to explain this matter.

No matter how they explain it, the Li family was truly beaten. To appease Li Sanfa and his wife, Lei Honghua and Grandpa must go to Lijiagou with the Li family. Otherwise, with all the rumors, Li Sanfa would no longer work with the third uncle. So, they haven’t come back yet because they’ve gone to Lijiagou.”

Just as Qiao Jiangxin finished speaking, Lei Honghua and Qiao Jiuwang entered the village.

They were immediately stopped by a gossipy aunt. “Oh, Sister Honghua, why are you just coming back now? Is your daughter-in-law alright?”

Lei Honghua was extremely tired but still managed a smile. “It’s fine, it’s fine, it was all a misunderstanding, it’s all been explained, the Li family are reasonable people, everything’s fine after clarification.”

Lei Honghua then subconsciously added a few bad words, “Oh, people say it’s hard to be a stepmother, and I’ve experienced it now. I have a few rotten hearted……”

The gossiping aunt didn’t want to hear her go on, as many people in Gaoshi Village knew what Lei Honghua was about to say.

She interrupted Lei Honghua, “Oh, Sister Honghua, let’s not talk about those old things.  Sangu went to town to find you today, did you meet? Your pigs were slaughtered!”

“Ah?????????”

The fake smile on Lei Honghua’s face instantly disappeared. She stared, thinking she had misheard. “What did you say?”

The aunt looked gleeful. “I said your pigs were slaughtered, both of them, the meat was sold, 65 cents a catty. My family bought two catties too. It’s good of your family to share with the whole village.”

Lei Honghua confirmed again, “You said my pigs were slaughtered!!!!!”

Her voice was deafening.

The aunt nodded, gave Lei Honghua a thumbs-up, and said word by word, “Yes, your pigs, were slaughtered, both of them, the meat was so fat and fragrant.”

“Aaahhhhhhh!”

“Qiao Daya, you bitch, you dared to touch my pigs!!!!!”

Lei Honghua recalled the scene of Qiao Jiangxin carrying a cleaver and slaughtering the pigs, and she jumped up from the ground as if electrocuted, running wildly home.

Even the usually calm Qiao Jiuwang quickly chased after Lei Honghua.

The aunt excitedly raised her hands, “And, and, your grain was also sold”

Although she raised her voice, her words were drowned out by Lei Honghua’s earth-shattering scream.
