After marking each other temporarily, it took a while for both of them to regain their clarity.
Meng Yue Sheng’s ears were flushed red with embarrassment as he pulled the blanket over his face, his voice muffled from under it, “Are you… are you okay?”
Wei Jin lay beside him, leisurely tugging at the blanket to tease him, “Brother, why are you hiding under the blanket? If you’re going to hide, we should hide together.”
“I’m embarrassed too. Why don’t you take a look at me, Brother~?”
Meng Yue Sheng let go of the blanket and pushed it aside, staring directly at Wei Jin.
Alright, this was a mess. He looked like a delicate little cake, covered in sweet cream and strawberry jam—an irresistibly fragrant and sugary little cake.
Wei Jin tugged at her pants uncomfortably. The dampness inside was irritating.
“My clothes are all dirty now. How am I supposed to go out later?” she complained.
Meng Yue Sheng kicked the blanket to the foot of the bed, exposing his body to cool off, “Little Dad and Father must have prepared some fresh clothes for us.”
Wei Jin’s eyes roamed over him, and Meng Yue Sheng, in places she couldn’t see, had the same reaction as her.
Smelling their mixed pheromones in the air, Wei Jin hugged Meng Yue Sheng’s arm contentedly. It felt like they had spent a lifetime together, and Wei Jin had never felt so at peace.
It was as if her soul had been set free.
“Looks like we can really take a good rest for a week,” Wei Jin sighed.
Just thinking about spending the whole week sticking to Meng Yue Sheng filled her with joy.
Meng Yue Sheng didn’t think too much about it and simply replied, “Hmm, then let’s rest well.”
After lying there long enough, Wei Jin got up and turned on the air purifier, slowly dissipating the pheromones that lingered in the room.
She opened the small curtain on the door and peered out the window to see if there were any fresh clothes outside.
Thank goodness for Father and Little Dad!
They had indeed left clothes for them at the door.
“Meng Yue Sheng, we’ve got clean clothes to change into!” she called out joyfully from the bathroom.
“I know. Pick something for me, will you?”
“Alright!”
Wei Jin quickly unlocked the door, grabbed the bag of clothes from outside, and brought it in.
Little Dad had prepared everything they needed, so by the time they left the house, they were both looking fresh and radiant again.
Once they got into the car, Meng Yue Sheng called Father and Little Dad to let them know he was fine and that they were heading home. His father reminded him to take care of his health before ending the call.
Meng Yue Sheng leaned back in his seat, half-closing his eyes while he sent messages in the work group chat.
Wei Jin put on some soft music, and before long, Meng Yue Sheng had fallen asleep.
Wei Jin slowed down the car, and when they got home, she didn’t wake him. Instead, she just sat there, watching his peaceful sleeping face.
Quiet and serene.
She was going to spend the rest of her life with him…
Her soul had anchored itself to his.
Wei Jin’s breathing was light as she carefully listened to the sound of Meng Yue Sheng’s breathing. That wandering seedling in her heart had finally found soil, taken root, and grown within Meng Yue Sheng. They could never be separated.
Meng Yue Sheng stirred, blinking himself awake in a daze.
For a moment, he was confused about where he was. Once his awareness returned, he realized he had fallen asleep in the car.
“I fell asleep… Why didn’t you wake me when we got home?” Meng Yue Sheng rubbed his eyes, yawning as he covered his mouth.
“I wanted to let you sleep a little longer. I was just about to wake you,” Wei Jin said, having already unbuckled her seatbelt. She reached out to caress Meng Yue Sheng’s cheek, leaning over to plant a kiss on the corner of his lips.
“Are your shoulders or back stiff?”
“No.”
“Good, we’re home now.”
Wei Jin unbuckled Meng Yue Sheng’s seatbelt and, after getting out, opened the back door to grab their change of clothes, handing them to him.
“Once we’re home, I won’t need to sleep in the guest room anymore, right?” Wei Jin asked casually.
“Huh?” Meng Yue Sheng seemed unsure if he’d heard her correctly.
“I want to sleep in the same bed with you.”
Wei Jin said it outright.
Cough—Meng Yue Sheng got out of the car and closed the door, “Sure.”
The sound of the car door masked his response, but Wei Jin still heard him clearly.
“Alright then, once I move in, I won’t be moving out again~” Wei Jin leaned against him, whispering in his ear.
“Mm…”
Once home, Wei Jin tossed their dirty clothes into the washing machine, but set aside the underwear to wash by hand.
Meng Yue Sheng was still tidying things up in the bedroom and didn’t notice what Wei Jin was doing.
Thus, Wei Jin conveniently washed Meng Yue Sheng’s underwear too.
It smelled strongly of his minty pheromones.
As she scrubbed the fabric with detergent, it was as if she were scrubbing Meng Yue Sheng himself.
After finishing up, Wei Jin was on her way to the balcony to hang the clothes when she passed by the bedroom, and Meng Yue Sheng spotted what she was holding.
“What’s that in your hand?”
Meng Yue Sheng froze in place, his eyes filled with disbelief. He took a couple of steps closer, determined to see more clearly.
“Underwear…” Wei Jin replied nonchalantly, shaking the fabric in her hand.
“Mine too?”
“Yeah, I washed it with mine.”
Meng Yue Sheng’s face flushed crimson in an instant. How to describe it? He looked like he was about to explode.
“You… you… I can wash that myself…”
Wei Jin had already gone to hang up the clothes, “What’s the big deal? We’re so close, washing underwear is nothing.”
“Not only that, but I also want to shower with you tonight~”
Meng Yue Sheng was so shocked by this bold statement that he followed her into the living room, “I don’t remember you being like this before…”
“What’s wrong with it? Don’t tell me you don’t like the new me?”
Wei Jin wiped her hands with a tissue, pulling Meng Yue Sheng down onto the sofa.
“Do you hate it?”
“No, I don’t hate it. It’s just—” Meng Yue Sheng pushed up his sliding glasses, “I just feel a bit shy. I’ve been doing these things myself for so long, and suddenly having you do it, it’s a little embarrassing…” Plus, wasn’t this something he should be doing?
He couldn’t even say the words “washing underwear,” proving how genuinely embarrassed he was.
Wei Jin simply hugged Meng Yue Sheng, “It’s nothing. We’re going to be together for a lifetime, remember…”
“Mm.” Meng Yue Sheng hugged her back, gently patting her on the back.
“Meng Yue Sheng,” Wei Jin called his name softly, “I’ve thought about it many times. If I were to spend the rest of my life with you, how would that be? You’re really amazing, and just thinking about a future with you makes me so happy. If my whole life is with you, I know I’ll be really happy… because I really like you.”
Meng Yue Sheng gently patted her back, as if soothing a small animal.
“What’s this? A confession or a proposal?”
“Of course, it’s a confession from the heart!” Wei Jin sat up from his lap, “I’m not ready for the proposal yet. I want to give you something unforgettable.”
She suddenly grinned, “But if I propose, you’d definitely say yes, wouldn’t you?”
Meng Yue Sheng tapped her on the head, “What kind of nonsense is that? Of course I’d say yes…”
He chuckled, “If I didn’t, I’d probably see a sad, teary puppy, right? But I want my little puppy to always be happy.”
Wei Jin let out a soft whimper, snuggling into Meng Yue Sheng’s neck, sniffing him like a little dog, planting a trail of wet kisses along his skin.
“Then I’m already the happiest puppy in the world.”

The bedroom had already been tidied up by Meng Yue Sheng, leaving plenty of space.
Wei Jin knew that this space was reserved for her.
Half the closet was for her, half the desk too, and her cup sat quietly beside Meng Yue Sheng’s on the table.
Wei Jin put away the extra blanket on the bed, spreading Meng Yue Sheng’s blanket evenly across both their pillows. She rubbed her hands together in satisfaction.
Meng Yue Sheng stood nearby, watching her. As she folded the blankets, he kindly reminded her, “Be careful not to catch a cold…”
Wei Jin confidently responded, “No way. We’ll just cuddle tight, and we won’t get cold.”
“Alright…”
He hoped he wouldn’t end up stealing her blanket in his sleep.
•
Although Wei Jin had told Qi Zhu that she would take a week off to care for Meng Yue Sheng, his heat cycle ended by the third day. This meant he no longer needed Wei Jin’s temporary mark.
Holding Meng Yue Sheng’s blanket, Wei Jin declared, “Even if you don’t need the mark, I’m not moving out!”
Meng Yue Sheng rubbed his temples, “I’m not asking you to move out. I just need to get back to work.”
“Waaah, but Father and Little Dad said you should take a good rest…”
“I’ll stay two more days…”
“If you have any work to do, I can help you with it!”
Well… there wasn’t much paperwork to handle right now. Fine, he could stay home.
“Alright, alright, I’ll stay until the end of my leave.”
Wei Jin patted the empty spot next to her, “Come here, let’s nap~”
•
One of the reasons Meng Yue Sheng was eager to return to work was because Wei Jin had become quite handsy.
The first night, after their temporary marking session, Wei Jin helped him with her hands.
Then…
Things escalated.
Though Meng Yue Sheng also wanted to reciprocate and make Wei Jin feel good, she preferred exploring his body.
And before he had even gotten a good look at Little Wei, she had already seen all of him, up and down.
Images of Wei Jin holding him, moving rhythmically, and watching his near-breaking expression flashed through his mind again.
She even coaxed him into saying some explicit things.
Last night was even more outrageous—she had used her mouth… and swallowed…
Meng Yue Sheng pulled the corner of the blanket over to cover his flushed face.
But Wei Jin tugged it right back down, her gaze fixed on him.
That look in her eyes was unmistakable.
And then he heard her say, “Why is Little Moon still blushing? Is your heat cycle not completely over? It’s okay, I’ll take good care of you…”
“I’m not mm—” Before he could finish, her eager lips silenced him.
Caught up in the heat of the moment, his chest was already being nibbled.
“Could you… be a little gentler?” Meng Yue Sheng couldn’t resist her, so he coaxed her gently.
“Alright, I’ll be good…”
“Mmm, Little Moon smells so good…”
Wei Jin was definitely different from before—bolder now.
But there was nothing wrong with that.
Meng Yue Sheng liked seeing this more genuine side of Wei Jin.
He was the moon, held tenderly in someone’s hands.
