Tang is my Obsession Chapter 19

Chapter 19

The swelling ointment had a pain-relieving effect. After a while, Shen Chutang’s emotions calmed down. She lifted her head from Shi Chengyu’s arms, her watery eyes looking at him. “Brother Chengyu, that girl’s dad is the school board member. Did I cause you trouble?”

Shen Chutang had been crying just now, so she naturally didn’t see the group of people behind Shi Chengyu. She only felt that she had caused Shi Chengyu a lot of trouble.

Shi Chengyu looked at her red eyes and wiped the corner of her eye. “No trouble.”

It wasn’t her who should be in trouble.

“Tangtang did a great job. You protected Xie Tong and yourself. Tangtang’s matters are never a trouble for Brother Chengyu.” Shi Chengyu said softly, patting her back.

He just felt heartbroken seeing her injured.

Shen Chutang nodded, seemingly understanding. “Brother Chengyu, let’s go find the homeroom teacher.”

“Okay.”

Shi Chengyu agreed but put her back on the sofa, not letting her go. “Sit here obediently.” He then took a pillow and put it behind her waist.

“Shulang, let them in.”

As soon as Shi Chengyu finished speaking, Lin Shulang pushed open the door and led a group of people in. “Mr. Shi.”

A bunch of people came in, and Shen Chutang quietly moved closer to Shi Chengyu.

“Mr. Shi, we are so sorry. Miss Shen has been wronged. We have investigated the matter thoroughly, and it was not Miss Shen’s fault.”

Shen Chutang blinked and looked at Shi Chengyu, her eyes filled with confusion. Shi Chengyu smiled reassuringly at her, crossed his legs, and took her hand, placing an ice pack on it.

“Mr. Shi, the other student has also come, along with her parents. What do you think we should do?”

Wu Shuyao walked out from behind the crowd, followed by a middle-aged man. “Mr. Shi, we are truly sorry. My daughter is not sensible. It’s my fault for not disciplining her properly. Please be magnanimous…”

“You should be apologizing to me.” Shi Chengyu said softly, then gently rubbed Shen Chutang’s palm with his fingertip.

“Yes, yes, Yaoyao, quickly apologize to Miss Shen.”

Half of Wu Shuyao’s face was still swollen. She was extremely reluctant, but she had already been reprimanded by Wu Zheng. She reluctantly said, “I’m sorry.”

“Shen Chutang, I’m sorry. It was the teacher’s fault for blaming you without understanding the situation. The teacher also apologizes to you.” Lin Yan also walked over, his tone more sincere than Wu Shuyao’s.

“Does your hand still hurt?” Shi Chengyu asked softly.

Shen Chutang shook her head and looked at the people standing aside. “I hit someone. I also want to apologize to you, but I don’t accept your apology.”

“In class, a classmate reminded me that your dad is the school board member.”

“I don’t know how many times this kind of thing or similar things have happened. How many students have been bullied by you? If I were just a student from an ordinary family, would things be different today?”

Shen Chutang calmly narrated. “Would I be the one getting beaten? Would I be the one apologizing? And then, as you said, would I have to slap myself ten times in front of all the students before you would forgive me?”

Hearing this, Shi Chengyu felt as if a needle had pierced his heart. His fingers paused, then quickly rubbed again.

“It’s a pity, my family background might be a little better than yours, so I can sit here and talk to you. But what about other students?”

“A University Affiliated High School is not the kind of school I envisioned.”

Shen Chutang finished speaking and lowered her head in disappointment. The room was so quiet that only the sound of Shi Chengyu blowing air on her palm could be heard. She looked down, feeling like she wanted to cry again.

“Yes, yes, Miss Shen is right. It’s our negligence in managing the school.”

Shi Chengyu patted her back and said coldly to the others. “I’m not here to deal with school management issues. Someone will contact you about the follow-up.”

“Apologize if you need to. Whether Tangtang forgives you or not is her business. But after this, the Shi Group’s legal team will issue a lawyer’s letter. Please cooperate with the school on the necessary procedures.”

“Yes, Mr. Shi. That’s for sure.”

Shi Chengyu didn’t reply. He stood up and held her other hand. “You didn’t eat much this morning. Are you hungry?”

Shen Chutang nodded twice. “A little.”

“Anything else, everyone?” Shi Chengyu nodded towards everyone.

“Nothing else, Mr. Shi. Please go slowly.” The group of people made way, watching Shi Chengyu lead her out.

“Brother Chengyu, I need to go back and tell Xie Tong.” Shen Chutang pulled her hand away. She had just taken two steps forward when she winced in pain and stopped, turning back to Shi Chengyu with a smile, slowly moving forward.

Shi Chengyu followed behind her. When she turned back, his expression instantly turned cold.

“Assistant Lin, Assistant Lin, what does Mr. Shi mean?”

As soon as Lin Shulang came out of the lounge, someone grabbed his arm. He pulled his arm out. “Mr. Shi means exactly what he said.”

“Then, is it convenient to ask about that Miss Shen’s background?”

Lin Shulang had a polite smile on his face. “Principal Chen, that’s not something you should be asking. Just remember that her surname is Shen.”

To be honest, it was quite satisfying to say harsh words. But Miss Shen was usually obedient and low-key. Such opportunities were rare. Lin Shulang smiled and followed Shi Chengyu.

The surname Shen… There was only one family in Beijing with the surname Shen who had a good relationship with the Shi family.

He should have thought of that earlier. How could Shi Chengyu just send a little girl to school and be so attentive?

Realizing this, Chen Yi’s heart sank to the bottom. He stood there stiffly, watching Lin Shulang walk away.

Wu Zheng walked over and asked in a low voice, “Principal Chen, what did Assistant Lin say?”

Chen Yi glanced at him coldly. “You’re on your own.”

He was also in a precarious position now.

After Shen Chutang told Xie Tong, she was carried downstairs by Shi Chengyu. She slept in the car all the way to Yaxuan.

Along the way, Shi Chengyu carefully avoided the injured part of her waist, gently patting it. He was heartbroken and self-blaming.

Shen Chutang’s right hand was injured. After applying ice for a long time, the swelling had gone down, but it was still a little red. She used her left hand to hold the spoon and eat.

Halfway through the meal, Lin Shulang received a call from Shen Sichen. Shi Chengyu had two phones. He carried one with him, which only had Shen Chutang’s contact information. The other was with Lin Shulang. He would decide whether to answer the call based on the situation.

Seeing that it was Shen Sichen’s call, he guessed it was for Miss Shen. Lin Shulang picked up the phone and went to the next room to find Shi Chengyu. “Mr. Shi, Second Master Shen’s call.”

Shi Chengyu nodded slightly and put some food into Shen Chutang’s bowl.

Lin Shulang answered the call and put it on speakerphone, placing it on the table.

“Hello? Is Tangtang with you? Uncle Wen went to school and didn’t pick her up. I heard from the school that Tangtang got into a fight?”

Shi Chengyu gave a faint “hmm.” “She slapped someone, and her hand is swollen.”

“Stupid, didn’t she learn anything I taught her?” Shen Sichen’s angry voice came from the other end of the phone. Shen Chutang was about to retort, but Shi Chengyu fed her a mouthful of rice. She could only chew it, looking at Shi Chengyu accusingly.

“She’s with me. I’ll send her back to school later.” Shi Chengyu finished speaking, put down his spoon, and hung up the phone. Lin Shulang took the phone and went back to the assistant’s lounge next door.

“Tangtang, be good, don’t mind him. Have another bite.”

Lin Shulang dealt with the matter and drove to Yaxuan. He then immediately contacted the legal department about today’s incident. He forgot to mention it in the group chat.
