The Aloof Beauty Who Knows How to Act Spoiled Chapter 11

Chapter 11: Does Lu Tingshen Have a Fiancée?

Lu Tingshen detected a faint sob in his voice but chose not to point it out.

L: Feeling better now?

Ji Jinbai lay on the blanket, sniffling.

“Yes, much better. I’ve already been discharged and just got back to the dorm. Thank you for saving me again last night.”

This was the second time Lu Tingshen had saved Ji Jinbai, and it seemed like each time was a stroke of coincidence.

After sending the voice message, Ji Jinbai thought of something and added another sentence, speaking softly with a hint of amusement.

“I heard from the nurse that you personally took care of me all night last night, Mr. Lu, the kind-hearted citizen. Do you need me to award you a commendation banner?”

“I’ll personally deliver it to Lu Corporation, so everyone in the company will know that their CEO has done a good deed.”

Lu Tingshen, seated at the head of the table, expressionlessly opened the voice message as his subordinates filed into the meeting room.

After listening to the young man’s message and hearing his playful, soft tone, Lu Tingshen couldn’t help but smile wryly. He looked down at his phone with a doting expression, then pursed his lips into a smile.

It seemed the other party was in good enough spirits to tease him, which meant things weren’t as bad as they could have been.

Qing Shiru, standing closest to him, was on the frontlines of this unexpected scene. While pretending to organize documents, she struggled to suppress her rising grin. The boss comforting someone—what a rare sight.

Some of the attendees who had already arrived caught a glimpse of their usually stern and serious CEO showing a tender expression while looking at his phone. Their eyes widened in shock—had their CEO been possessed?

L: That won’t be necessary.

The man replied with a chuckle.

L: From now on, remember not to touch alcohol or anything containing alcohol, understood?

Lu Tingshen’s tone suddenly turned serious, like a parent warning a child not to mess with dangerous things.

A warm feeling washed over Ji Jinbai’s heart, and for some reason, he instinctively nodded obediently.

Muttering, he said, “Yes, I understand. I won’t touch it again.”

L: Was it good, drinking a whole bottle of high-concentration alcohol in one go last night?

Ji Jinbai opened the voice message and sensed the sternness in the man’s tone. He looked innocent and a bit aggrieved, thinking the bottle from last night was just a beverage, which was why he drank so much.

Ji Jinbai didn’t dare to defend himself.

Hearing the man’s voice, he instinctively admitted his mistake, pouting as he said, “It wasn’t good…”

“Will you dare to be so careless next time, drinking whatever you find?”

Feeling the man’s authoritative presence, Ji Jinbai spoke in a muffled voice, as if being disciplined.

He obediently assured the man, “I won’t dare. I’ll be more careful in the future.”

Ji Jinbai felt a bit embarrassed. He hadn’t expected to be scolded like this even as an adult. The tips of his ears, peeking out from the blanket, turned red, but he didn’t dislike the feeling.

Like a listless little puppy, he buried his head in the blanket and rolled around a few times.

Afraid the man would continue scolding him, he touched his warm earlobe and quickly changed the subject. “What are you doing now?”

L: In a meeting.

Ji Jinbai hadn’t expected him to be chatting during a meeting.

“Then you should focus on the meeting. I won’t disturb you anymore.”

L: It’s fine. Talking to you doesn’t interfere.

The little one sent a message: Have you been busy lately? Do you have to work overtime often?

After a few minutes without a reply from the man, Ji Jinbai sent another message: “I miss you a bit. Can I come see you? If you’re not too busy.”

The thought of missing him came from the heart. He really liked Lu Tingshen and knew that someone with his qualities never lacked suitors.

This was Ji Jinbai’s first time liking someone, and he didn’t know how to pursue him. He could only follow his heart.

Ji Jinbai waited for a while but still didn’t receive a reply from the man.

Bored, he hid under the covers, placing his phone next to his ear, listening to the voice message Lu Tingshen had sent him over and over again. His voice was so pleasant.

In the meeting room, the atmosphere had reached a boiling point.

Previously, Lu Corporation’s main industries were concentrated in real estate, high-tech, and automobile manufacturing.

Since Lu Tingshen took over, the business empire, including catering services and high-tech, had expanded more than tenfold.

Some shareholders had initially been dissatisfied with his aggressive tactics, but now, seeing the thriving performance, they gradually let go of their grievances. After all, as long as they were making money, there was nothing more to say.

Lu Tingshen leaned on the table with one hand, his gaze sharp and expression serious, watching them argue through one phase.

Holding a pen in his slender hand, he said, “The pharmaceutical and medical fields are indeed a huge market. Innovating and developing drugs for diseases can save many lives.

I’ve carefully considered the drug development plan. It’s a promising direction. The initial investment is high, but the subsequent profits are equally significant. This will be one of the company’s main development strategies moving forward.”

Lu Tingshen leaned back in his chair. “Let the meeting continue.”

Ji Jinbai listened to his voice message until he was almost asleep.

When the other party finally sent a message, the notification sound instantly woke him up, and he no longer looked like he was about to fall asleep.

L: “Hmm, wait for me to finish these busy days, and I’ll come find you.”

L: “Wait for me obediently.”

Listening to the words “Wait for me obediently,” Ji Jinbai couldn’t help but fall deeper into the man’s gentle tone, which carried a hint of laughter and indulgence.

His face flushed, and his heart raced as he listened to the message repeatedly.

“Wait for me obediently.”

He covered his face. This was too unfair.

Trying to suppress the excitement in his heart, he couldn’t help but smile.

“Okay, I’ll wait for you.”

Looking at his own reply, Ji Jinbai tossed his phone onto the bed.

Feeling a bit embarrassed, he covered his head with the blanket. He was being too unreserved.

His face was red, but his eyes were filled with a smile. After the wave of excitement, a wave of drowsiness hit him, and he yawned.

His eyes kept drooping, and he half-closed them, his tone unconsciously cooing, soft and tender.

“I’m so sleepy~ I’m going to sleep now.”

“You should rest too.”

In the meeting room, Lu Tingshen listened to the soft, sleepy voice of the young man, which made him want to hold him in his arms and cuddle him fiercely. It was simply too adorable.

Thinking of something, he chuckled softly, covering his mouth with his fist.

The executive who was presenting stopped speaking, looking at the boss in horror, then at his own PPT. Had his presentation failed to impress the boss?

He trembled nervously, mustering the courage to ask, “Mr. Lu, do you have any instructions regarding this proposal?”

Lu Tingshen raised his head, his eyes devoid of any trace of a smile, still wearing the familiar cold and serious expression.

He spoke indifferently, “Well done, continue.”

The executive breathed a sigh of relief, truly frightened, adjusted his breathing, and continued reporting to the crowd…

In the weekend art studio, only Ji Jinbai was present. He sat upright in front of the easel, holding a palette in his hand.

Before him was a nearly completed painting of a sunset over snowy mountains, only needing the final touches.

His phone in his pocket chimed with a “ding.”

Ji Jinbai wiped the white paint off his hands, took out his phone, thinking someone had sent him an important message.

The screen lit up, but there was no message from anyone, only a news notification. He thought it was just an ordinary news update.

He was about to swipe it away, but upon closer inspection, his eyes widened in disbelief.

The bold, dark headline read:

【President of Lu Corporation and Miss Lin, his fiancée, attended a banquet together, hinting at an imminent good news.】

President of Lu Corporation? Isn’t that Lu Tingshen? When did he get a girlfriend?

His heart was in turmoil, frowning, his fingers trembling as he clicked on the news, quickly scanning through it.

At the end was a blurry photo of a man and a woman leaving the banquet.

Although the man’s face was not visible in the photo, Ji Jinbai knew that man was Lu Tingshen.

Ji Jinbai masochistically finished reading, his eyes red, biting his trembling lips, tears welling up, forcing himself not to cry out.

He stared blankly at the backs of the two people on the screen, wanting to message the man, to question him about this so-called fiancée.

But then he thought, what is his relationship with Lu Tingshen now? Even he didn’t know what their relationship was.

What identity would he use to ask?

Perhaps he was just a pastime for Lu Tingshen when he was bored, saving him a few times, maybe just the man’s inherent gentlemanliness and humanitarianism.

And yet, he had sunk into the man’s repeated indulgence and pampering.

The more Ji Jinbai thought about it, the sadder he felt. That woman was beautiful, and she looked good standing next to Lu Tingshen.

No matter how much he liked Lu Tingshen, he had a fiancée. He couldn’t ruin someone else’s relationship; he couldn’t be the other woman.

It was like seeing someone he really liked, only to end up marrying someone else, which was equally painful.

He curled up, hugging his knees, his head resting on them, a tear streak sliding down his cold face, which he fiercely wiped away.
