Chapter 13: This Was Actually the Old Man’s First Kiss
Ji Jinbai noticed a black business car parked not far from the school gate.
What caught his attention the most was the tall, imposing man leaning casually against the car, his sharp features exuding an aura that kept others at bay.
Under the dim yellow light, the man’s eyes were downcast, his handsome face betraying no emotion.
As if sensing a familiar presence, he suddenly looked up, his piercing gaze locking onto Ji Jinbai in the distance.
Ji Jinbai slowly walked up to him, avoiding eye contact and instead focusing on the man’s jawline.
Many students were coming and going at the gate, and quite a few had already noticed them.
Lu Tingshen said in a low voice, “Get in the car first.”
He reached out to open the car door. Ji Jinbai gave him a cool glance but said nothing, bending down to sit inside.
Lu Tingshen sat beside Ji Jinbai, turning to look at the sulky young man. He asked gently, “What’s going on? You’ve been off lately. Did I do something to upset you?”
Ji Jinbai bit his lip, his eyes fixed on the window, offering no reply.
Lu Tingshen reached out and turned Ji Jinbai’s face toward him, forcing him to meet his gaze.
His thumb brushed over Ji Jinbai’s lips, stopping him from biting down.
The tenderness in the man’s touch seemed to unlock the floodgates of Ji Jinbai’s pent-up emotions.
His nose tingled, and his eyes reddened, his trembling lashes fluttering as he looked up into Lu Tingshen’s gentle gaze.
Struggling to hold back tears, Ji Jinbai looked into his eyes and asked in a shaky voice, “Do you have a fiancée?”
A fiancée?
Lu Tingshen was momentarily stunned, frowning. How could he not know if he had a fiancée?
Suddenly, it dawned on him. “Did you see that news article?” he asked, realization in his voice.
Ji Jinbai nodded slightly.
Lu Tingshen raised a hand to his forehead and sighed softly.
Looking at the sulky young man, he couldn’t help but find it a little endearing.
Lu Tingshen explained earnestly, “You’ve got it all wrong. I don’t have a fiancée. She and I aren’t in that kind of relationship.
We’ve been friends since childhood. To avoid unnecessary trouble, we pretended to be a couple in public. I don’t like women, and she doesn’t like men.”
Lu Tingshen looked at the wide-eyed, red-eyed young man and couldn’t help but chuckle.
He gently stroked Ji Jinbai’s hair, whispering in his ear, “You’ve been so cold to me just because of this, huh?”
Ji Jinbai’s face flushed, his expression full of grievance. Embarrassed, he buried himself in Lu Tingshen’s chest, wrapping his arms around the man’s waist.
Muffled, he said, “Stop talking, or I’ll really lose my mind.”
Lu Tingshen pulled him onto his lap, looking down at the little swirl of hair on the top of his head.
He teased in a low voice, “You’re already so silly; a little more won’t hurt.”
Ji Jinbai glared at him, hitting his chest with a soft punch that barely registered.
He pouted, “You’re the silly one.”
Lu Tingshen’s lips curved into a smile as he gently pinched Ji Jinbai’s delicate nose.
“Who was it that jumped to conclusions without even asking me? Didn’t I get unfairly accused?”
“What will you do next time something like this happens?”
Lu Tingshen patiently guided him step by step.
Ji Jinbai nestled in his arms, softly and obediently saying, “I should tell you about any problems right away, not just believe whatever others say.”
“I was wrong,” Ji Jinbai admitted, wrapping his arms around the man’s neck.
He had realized that his recent attitude toward Lu Tingshen wasn’t right, and he felt a bit embarrassed.
“Admitting your mistake and correcting it makes you a good child.”
Lu Tingshen gazed at the boy’s clear eyes and flawless, delicate face, feeling that he was breathtakingly beautiful.
Lu Tingshen’s dark eyes grew even deeper, as if bewitched, and he leaned down to kiss Ji Jinbai’s cheek.
Ji Jinbai was caught off guard, but as the man was about to pull away, he reached up and firmly hooked his arms around Lu Tingshen’s neck.
Lowering his eyes, he shyly kissed Lu Tingshen.
His damp eyes looked up at the man, pleading for help.
Lu Tingshen took control.
This is almost like being devoured, he thought, though he didn’t dare say it out loud.
His hands hung around the man’s neck, gazing at him with fascination.
Ji Jinbai felt like he couldn’t breathe anymore, his hands pressing against Lu Tingshen’s chest as he tried to push him away, tears welling up in his eyes, his warm breath brushing against the man’s face.
Seeing him in such a pitiful state, Lu Tingshen reluctantly let him go.
The man looked at him, his voice low and husky, “You don’t even know how to breathe during a kiss? Your face is all red.”
There was a hint of amusement in the man’s eyes as he looked at him.
Ji Jinbai’s eyes were misty, his cheeks slightly flushed, making him stunningly beautiful.
Ji Jinbai buried his face in the man’s chest, biting his neck in a mix of shyness and frustration.
Lu Tingshen felt as if a kitten had lightly scratched him, a gentle, ticklish sensation.
“Hmph~ I’ve never kissed anyone else before, so it’s normal that I don’t know how, right?”
“Unlike you, with all your experience…”
Ji Jinbai glared at him, pouting.
Seeing his little expression, Lu Tingshen knew he was overthinking again.
“This was my first kiss too. I guess it’s just… self-taught?” Lu Tingshen chuckled softly.
At his age, the man had never been in a relationship before, which Ji Jinbai found hard to believe.
As if guessing the boy’s thoughts, Lu Tingshen cupped Ji Jinbai’s face, looking into his eyes.
“Jinbai, you might not believe it, but it’s true. I’ve never been with anyone before. I never felt that way about anyone else.”
“Alright, I believe you.”
Caressing the man’s cold, mature face, Ji Jinbai couldn’t help but lean in to kiss him. Seeing that the man didn’t stop him, he covered his mouth and giggled softly.
“Didn’t you get enough just now?”
Lu Tingshen smirked, grabbing his hand and pinching his soft, fair cheek.
Ji Jinbai, still a bit shaken from earlier, thought to himself, how many years has this old man been starving? He almost drowned in that kiss.
But it was quite comfortable, with a lingering aftereffect.
Ji Jinbai leaned closer to the man’s ear and whispered, “Lu Tingshen, how about we go to your place tonight?”
The boy on his lap looked like a little fox, his cool eyes carrying a hint of temptation.
Lu Tingshen raised an eyebrow, looking at Ji Jinbai with an unreadable expression, his Adam’s apple bobbing a few times, his deep eyes fixed on him.
“Are you serious?”
The man felt that Ji Jinbai at this moment was like a noble, enchanting spirit.
“Mhm.”
Ji Jinbai smiled brightly, meeting his gaze, while Lu Tingshen looked at him with profound eyes.
Both of them silently understood what would happen tonight.
