The Aloof Beauty Who Knows How to Act Spoiled Chapter 24

Chapter 24: It Happened When He Lost His Temper

The two of them walked out of the store.

Ji Jinbai looked up and saw Lin Cheng not far away. He said to him, “You go ahead first, I still have some things to take care of.”

“Alright, then I’ll head off first. Senior, you should go back early too. Goodbye, Senior.”

Zhou Xu wanted to say something more to him but ultimately didn’t speak.

“Goodbye.”

Ji Jinbai watched his retreating figure disappear, then turned his gaze and walked in that direction.

Assistant Lin got out of the car and opened the door for Ji Jinbai. “Young Master Ji, please.”

“Thank you,” Ji Jinbai said indifferently, getting into the back seat.

“President Lu has a business dinner tonight and might return late. He asked you not to wait for him.”

Ji Jinbai leaned against the window, his voice cool as he replied, “Mm, I understand.”

Tonight’s business banquet was attended by many industry leaders, making it a crucial opportunity to network. Ordinary people couldn’t even get an invitation.

As a business tycoon, Lu Tingshen attracted widespread attention the moment he entered.

The hall was brightly lit, with an exquisite and luxurious crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling, making it particularly dazzling. In the center of the hall, various wines were displayed.

Lu Tingshen was dressed in a black suit, his hair neatly combed to reveal his high brow bone. He held a slender wine glass, leisurely sipping champagne.

The bones of his wrist were prominent as he gripped the glass, and his Adam’s apple was strikingly sensual as he tilted his head to drink.

Zhuo Yue walked over and gently clinked glasses with him, smiling familiarly as he asked, “How have you been lately?”

Lu Tingshen glanced at him indifferently, took a sip of his drink, and replied in a low voice, “Not bad.”

“I heard from Shen Ye that you took a little beauty to his place for dinner. Brother Lu, when did you become so romantic? Roses, candlelit dinners—what’s going on?”

Zhuo Yue’s eyes caught the faint bruises accidentally revealed at Lu Tingshen’s collar, and his gaze turned teasing. This man had been so aloof and abstinent for years, making their group of friends suspect he might be asexual. Yet now, he had quietly found someone. How could this not surprise him?

“Yes, my partner.”

“Serious?”

“Yes.”

Zhuo Yue knew his style and understood his attitude toward relationships. Hearing him say this basically confirmed the person’s status.

“I heard the other person is still a student. You should have seen Shen Ye’s expression when he mentioned it, saying you were an old cow eating tender grass.”

“You’re something. I never expected you to like this type. Find a time to bring them out and let us meet. Song Ye and I haven’t seen them yet. Let’s see what kind of person could set your old house on fire.”

Lu Tingshen had this in mind too. He never intended to hide Ji Jinbai away. He wanted to find the right time to introduce Ji Jinbai to them.

Lu Tingshen chuckled softly and reminded, “Yes, I’ll bring him out to meet everyone when I have time. Don’t disturb him privately; it might scare him.”

Zhuo Yue adjusted his glasses, seeing the faint smile on Lu Tingshen’s face, and knew Lu Tingshen was smitten.

He patted Lu Tingshen’s shoulder. “Don’t worry, we know our limits.”

After the two finished speaking, several executives approached Lu Tingshen. Director Li walked up to him and shook his hand.

“Good evening, President Lu. I have a project in hand. I wonder if you’d be interested…”

Lu Tingshen had no interest in his project and listened half-heartedly. When he finished, Lu Tingshen said, “Director Li, your project concept is excellent.”

Director Li felt there was potential when he heard this, and a broad smile spread across his face before he could even finish his joy.

Lu Tingshen continued, “But as far as I know, ancient artifacts were once unearthed near this land. Whether it can be developed in the end is still uncertain.”

The implication was that he didn’t want to be involved in the project. Director Li’s expression turned complicated, and without saying a word, he left in a rather disheveled state.

Lu Tingshen stood tall and straight, listening to their project introductions, his eyes lowered as he stared at his wine glass with little interest.

“In support of artistic creation and development, our company is currently planning to host a nationwide art exhibition…”

The art exhibition suddenly reminded Lu Tingshen of the young one at home who was studying art. He thought it might be a good idea to let him go and have some fun.

Lu Tingshen raised his hand to interrupt the man’s endless chatter, his expression serious as he looked at the middle-aged man in front of him.

“This sounds meaningful. Could you elaborate?”

The middle-aged man, seeing President Lu’s interest in the project, immediately perked up and began explaining enthusiastically.

After he finished, Lu Tingshen nodded and said, “Bring the project proposal to Lu Corporation tomorrow and look for my assistant. He will coordinate with your team.”

The middle-aged man was overjoyed, his face creasing into a wide smile. He hadn’t held much hope, but to his surprise, the project had caught Lu Tingshen’s attention.

Those around them watched with envy, as projects in collaboration with Lu Corporation were almost guaranteed to be profitable.

An hour later, it was finally over.

Lu Tingshen let out a sigh and walked toward the rest area. He bent down to place his wine glass on the table and sat on the sofa, followed by someone sitting down beside him.

“Finally done?”

Lu Tingshen turned to look at the man who had spoken.

His eyes were dark and deep, his features sharp and wild, with a buzz cut that added to his fierce appearance.

The man was none other than Fu Zhouji, the president of Fu Corporation, whose status in the industry was on par with Lu Tingshen.

He controlled half of the resources in the entertainment industry, making him a dominant figure in the field.

Lu Tingshen and Fu Zhouji had initially been business partners, but as they interacted more, their relationship gradually deepened, and they eventually became friends.

“Yeah, taking a break,” Lu Tingshen clinked glasses with him and took a sip of his drink.

Lu Tingshen smirked as he looked at him. “Finally decided to show up. Where’s your better half? Aren’t you worried about leaving him alone?”

“He’s filming. I wanted to go with him, but he absolutely refused. So, I had no choice but to come out and kill time at this event.”

Fu Zhouji sighed, waving his hand, his face dark and his brows furrowed.

His Xie Yantang had gone abroad to film a few days ago. Fu Zhouji had wanted to accompany him as usual.

But, as luck would have it, Fu Zhouji had upset him, and Xie Yantang firmly refused to let him come along.

He even threatened that if Fu Zhouji showed up, he’d be sleeping in the study for a month. Fu Zhouji was effectively held in check.

He had no choice but to send a few bodyguards to keep an eye on him, which finally put his mind at ease.

Fu Zhouji crossed his legs and casually glanced around, his gaze settling on Lu Tingshen with a smile.

“President Lu, you’ve got someone, haven’t you?”

Lu Tingshen raised an eyebrow lightly. “How did you know?”

Fu Zhouji pointed to his own neck and teased, “It’s pretty obvious on your neck. Your partner’s quite possessive, huh?”

“Yeah, he left that when he was throwing a tantrum.”

Lu Tingshen leaned back on the sofa, his hands resting on his thighs, his tone a mix of helplessness and indulgence.

Fu Zhouji was somewhat surprised by this. He knew what kind of person Lu Tingshen was.

Serious, steady, meticulous, and also a very aloof person. Yet now, he was showing an indulgent expression.

“He’s not afraid of you and even dares to throw tantrums at you.”

“Why wouldn’t he dare? If I raise my voice just a little, he gets teary-eyed and accuses me of being harsh.

If I don’t comfort him, he’ll keep crying in front of me. He’s tough and resilient outside, but with me, he’s all delicate and spoiled.”

That’s what he said, but the hint of tenderness in Lu Tingshen’s eyes was unmistakable.

Fu Zhouji took a sip of his wine and, seeing him like this, knew he was serious.

“Alright, alright, it’s clear you two are smitten with each other. Bring him out to meet me sometime, and let him get to know my YanTang.”

Lu Tingshen clinked glasses with him. “Yes, next time for sure.”
